Chapter 2 - Awakening of the demon

Chapter 2 - Awakening of the demon

“Demon Emperor? Are you really going to turn that child into a demon to make him your disciple?” Kys was terrified when he thought that “The Strongest”, who he was so afraid of, might be a powerful demon himself. Humans of the Green Plain Kingdom were taught from childhood that demons are evil beings of pure darkness who could only kill, destroy and even ate human flesh.

“Don’t overthink it, brat. “Demon Emperor” I’m talking about isn’t the same as that Demon Emperor from your continent. That guy isn’t half bad actually, considering he managed to get to peak of so-called “rank 9” in an awful conditions of your lowly world, but he’s too old to inherit my teachings so I have no interest in him or anyone on this planet except for that boy I mentioned before. Demon emperor of yours isn’t actually a “Demon Emperor”, but the emperor of demons of your continent, title “Demon Emperor” doesn’t mean a person has to be a demon himself physically. Emperor of demons is just a low level demon who happens to be stronger than most of other low level demons of your continent, but he is in no way worthy of the title “Demon Emperor”. The one who deserves this title has to be absolutely savage, in front of a person with that title, all your strongest people will tremble in fear and will be annihilated if he will not be in right mood. But don’t mind any of it, I shall take my leave now and take that kid with myself, farewell kids.” Before Kys could even think about saying anything, a person in front of him vanished into thin air.

“Hello, Boe Nas, are you willing to become my disciple?” Boe was standing in a middle of a beautiful green field even though he was in an infirmary of the Komyns' city horizon headquarters just now. The Strongest somehow managed to drag Boe from his trance-like condition and move him to this field in a blink of an eye. If Boe would still be that innocent boy who was dreaming of becoming a demon hunter to make his father proud, he would be shocked by all of this, but now Boe felt like something inside of him died and he didn’t feel joy or any other emotions at the moment.

“Who are you and what the fuck do you want from me, old man?”

“Hehe, I like that attitude of yours, brat. I’m the one who can make you strong enough to get revenge for your brother, I can actually make you the ruler of this continent of yours, if you wish.” The Strongest didn’t get angry over Boe’s words and only chuckled after hearing them.

“You can help me kill a person who killed my brother? I’m willing to become your disciple and follow all your rules if you will kill that person!” Boe looked absolutely resolute and sincere while saying all this.

“I won’t do anything myself, I will only pass some teachings of mine to you and this will allow you to kill people who killed your brother in a few years.”

“Few years? I don’t have that much time, I want them dead right now and then I will become your disciple and do whatever you want me to do.”

“Hmmm … I actually wanted to keep those people alive for you to have a goal in mind while becoming stronger, but if you insist, we can go there right now and annihilate his whole family, it might actually be good for you to watch a good massacre to start you off on your road of becoming the Demon Emperor.” The Strongest was never a noble person himself and had no problems with killing a few people or even wiping out the whole planets if he had any reasons to do so.

Before Boe could say anything else, he felt dizzy for a moment and then everything around him changed. The Strongest and Boe were now standing near the big blood-colored gates of a fortress, Boe looked at the top of the gates and saw that there were hundreds of spikes with a human head on each of them.

“What is this place?” Even though Boe was shocked after seeing this scene, for some reason it didn’t make him feel as much as you could’ve imagined. Boe himself thought that something changed inside of him if he didn’t even feel a little pity toward all these dead people.

“That is hometown of a small demon clan near your Green Plain Kingdom. This is a place where a demon who killed your brother lives.” Right after he finished saying these words, The Strongest waved his hand and the huge gates just crumbled apart and flew off into the distance, creating a big passageway for Boe and him. Boe felt his body flying up from the ground and moving toward the city of demons, but he wasn’t afraid even a little bit.

“Old man, are you really able to kill that much demons if they will attack you all at once?”

“Brat, even if all people of your tiny world will attack me at once, I won’t need to make more than one move to annihilate all of them.” Boe obviously didn’t believe him, but The Strongest didn’t expect Boe to believe him right now, he was ready to show a little bit of his might to make sure Boe would become an obedient disciple in the future.

“Gagagagaga, do you really think you can contend against me, puny human?” At this moment in front of The Strongest and Boe appeared red skinned three meters tall demon with one black horn on his head and black spikes sticking out from his elbows and shoulders, he had an aura of a rank 3 demon emanating from his body.

“That isn’t the one who attacked your brother, but I don’t like his appearance.” The Strongest waved his hand and the demon just fell dead to the ground without making any sound.

Hundreds of demon of various appearances started appearing from the city with auras varying from rank 1 to rank 3, but they didn’t dare to make a move on a middle aged man in front of them and was just gathering and staring at couple of humans.

“Hello, esteemed lord, my name is Raago, I’m a head of this tiny place, may I know a reason of your appearance in my worthless city?” Boe heard a pleasant voice coming from a middle of demon’s group. All demons started dividing into two groups, creating a passage for their leader. Leader of this town looked a lot more humanoid than all other demons, he didn’t have any horns, spikes or tail of any kind, the only thing that made him different from humans were his eyes. Raago had red eyes without pupils, they looked like deep pools of water and Boe felt like drowning after he glanced in his eyes for a second.

“You are surprisingly well behaved for a low level demon, Raago. Boe, this demon is the one who killed your brother, what should I do to him?”

“Why did you kill my brother but let me live?” For some reason Boe didn’t feel any anger that he expected he would feel when facing a killer of his brother.

“Oh, so it seems I offended someone close to an esteemed lord and have to be punished accordingly. I beg of you to spare the people of my city and only take your revenge on me, noble lord.”

“Answer kid’s question and stop fluttering me, brat.” The Strongest waved his hand and all demons on the left of Raago fell dead. Raago trembled from rage after seeing so many of his people dying for no reason, but he couldnt do anything in this situation. He was the leader of all these people, so he could only suppress his feelings and do all he could to make sure the other half would survive this calamity.

“Stop! Stop! I will tell everything you want to know, but please don’t kill them all, let my bloodline continue existing. I didn’t need any of two kids, I came there for a forest nymph, but that other kid stood in my way. I am pretty sure nymph used some charming spell to make that kid risk his life for her. And even after that, I didn’t kill that kid, I only pushed him away from me, but that nymph used her wind magic to kill me so I had no choice other than to use the kid as a meat shield.” Raago was trying to be as polite as he could, but the rage inside of him was obvious for The Strongest.

“So it wasn’t you who killed my brother, but that nymph. Where is she now?” Boe was calm as he spoke to a powerful rank 4 demon lord. He now wondered why would rank 4 demon need that nymph so much that he even came to the human kingdom to capture her and how powerful she was to try to attack a demon and even make him use his brother as a shield.

“That nymph managed to run away from me after that and I suspect that she used some teleportation technique to move to one of the nymph countries or even to other continent, because I found a strong battle aura around some ancient looking magic array on the ground in a place I last sensed her.” Raago told everything he knew without hiding anything and even drew that array from his memories in front of Boe and The Strongest.

“Yep, that’s a teleportation array of the nymph race, considering formation of that array and power she had, she certainly didn’t leave this planet and only moved to another continent. I suspect that she is now in lands of nymphs on Zak continent of this planet.” Boe didn’t understand what “other continent” is The Strongest talking about, but after witnessing his strength, Boe trusted him. Since The Strongest didn’t need anything else from the demon, he waved his hand one more time and whole demon city started burning in black flames, Boe was watching and listening to all demons die miserable deaths with calm face and spark in his eyes.

“Can you take me to that continent and kill that nymph in front of me now?” After all demons stopped screaming, he wanted to finish what he started and hoped The Strongest would have an ability to move to other continent and kill the nymph.

“I already took you here and massacred the whole demon city for you, I think that’s enough of help from me to you in your way of revenge. This massacre was good for waking up the demon inside of you, but leaving someone you want dead for you to take revenge on them yourself is good too, it will keep you in need to improve for some time. I was kind enough to you already, now be obedient disciple and follow me out of this place.”

“Yes, master” After seeing massacre with his own eyes, something that woke up after his brother’s death inside of Boe became even stronger and he felt strong desire to become powerful. He needed the strength to get his revenge, to make sure things like that wouldn't ever happen to him again. His best choice right now was to follow this strange old man with an unfathomable strength and gain from him as much as he could.

“Now, let me introduce myself properly to you, my 22nd disciple, Boe Nas of the Demon Balthazar’s world. My name is “The Strongest”. I am a wandering adventurer who finds joy in raising strong disciples from all worlds of this universe. Last person who could fight me for more than a few minutes died 73000 years ago. Few thousand years ago there were still few people who fought me for my title, but none of them survived even a single attack from me. So 8000 years ago I started moving from world to world and teach worthy kids my battle teachings, I now have 16 disciples who are all your seniors from now on. Any one of them can kill you with just a wave of their hands before you will become strong enough to rule this world and defeat that brat Balthazar. But you don’t need to worry, you won’t have to fight them in near future, because I forbid all of them from attacking each other for now. Each and every disciple of mine are unique and train in different battle teachings I gave them, some of them are training light powers and became benevolent and noble rulers of their worlds, but you won’t be like that, you will be learning the “Demon Emperor” teaching from now on.”

“Will that power let me move from continent to continent and wipe out the nymph kingdom?” Boe interrupted his master and got hit on his head for that.

“If you will diligently learn everything I give, you will have a power to destroy this whole planet in a few hundreds of years, kid. My best disciple, Xander, was able to train his “World Devourer” teaching up to the level of Immortal Ascension in only 6500 years and now considered one of top 10 strongest beings in the universe. But that level of power is too far away from you, so concentrate on training in teaching I will pass onto you right now. Remember, I will not guard you from dangers of this or any other world if it won’t exceed your level by 2 or more levels so you might die if you are too arrogant and rash in your decisions, so be careful and think twice before doing anything. Even though I took in 22 disciples, right now only 17 of them are alive including you, exactly because they couldn’t defend themselves from enemies of the same level.”

“Yes, Master, I will definitely not fail you like my five deceased senior brothers.”

“Alright, that’s enough of an introduction, now we need to move from this little Kingdom to the lands of the Shadow Kingdom since their way of using battle aura is closer to your teachings and you will be able to absorb more shadow attribute battle aura there.” Moment later Boe found himself and his master in the dark forest and he heard people coming their way.
