Chapter 17 - Boe vs Han

Chapter 17 - Boe vs Han

‘Harson wants to cripple me by the hands of Han Ligu?’ Boe wasn’t actually very shocked to hear that, but he didn’t expect that Harson’s hatred would already develop to such a stage.

Han walked past Boe and whispered something to his underlings. When Boe turned around to take a look at departing Han, he noticed that those underlings were looking at him as if he was the most delicious prey they ever had. They then all laughed loudly and stopped looking at Boe.

‘I guess I’ll have to seriously prepare for that battle now.’ Boe didn’t have absolute confidence in his victory over Han Ligu, but he still had a few tricks up his sleeves so he didn’t worry too much.

“You want me to exterminate him and his whole family, lil bro?” A charming yet frightening voice sounded in Boe’s head.

“I won’t need your help with this fellow, but I do hope that you will protect me from senior members of his family later on. I don’t think they’ll let me go that easily after I’ll finish dealing with him the way I planned.” Boe didn’t hesitate even for a second when he refused Krstvinga’s help, he was planning to teach Han a lesson with his own hands. While it would definitely make him a number one target for the whole Ligu family, he was the future Demon Emperor after all, how could he tolerate such a behavior toward him? All the blood inside of him was now boiling as if every cell of his body was excited because of the upcoming events.

On the morning of his battle with Han, Boe was sitting in his room and practicing his battle teaching. For some reason, after he decided to destroy Han in their fight, he was overflowing with energy and made a rapid progress in combining his remaining twenty four moves into twelve. Within just a few hours of practice he managed to combine eight moves. And as he was contemplating each of the created moves, he understood that each of them had a specific purpose. For an example, the move he combined during his fight with Loseac was aimed to attack an enemy in close combat.

Of the four new moves he just created, the first one was used to slightly dodge in close combat, using only his legs to do it. Boe now understood that if he were to master this move, he would easily evade most of the melee attacks from his enemies as long as he was able to react in time.

The second move could only be used while moving at a very fast speed. It used the kinetic energy of Boe’s body to boost a power of any attack he would use. While this sounds simple and pretty obvious, this move has some kind of special energy in it, which amplifies the power of any physical attack based on the speed it is used on. Boe expected that at his maximum speed, it could at least double the power of his first attack.

But what shocked Boe the most was the fact that third and fourth moves were supposed to be used together. Third move was the combination of two separate moves using his legs in rapid succession, which allowed him to make a “double-jump” in the air. And the last move was the most powerful physical attack Boe could produce now, whereby he had to spin his body in the air and then use the gravity and his own weight to amplify the strength upon impact to perform a powerful strike with his leg. Boe could definitely break through most of rank 1 wizard’s defenses and injure an enemy with these two moves.

*KNOCK-KNOCK*

“Come in, Kamys.” Boe has long expected Kamys to come looking for him, since he didn’t really go out of his room for the last couple of days.

“Brother Boe, are you some kind of psychic?” Kamys walked in with a bright smile on his face, he was very happy these days. After he brought Ella to the infirmary, she woke up in only ten minutes and healer said that she was perfectly fine. After that, he told everything that happened to her, including the part where he carried her in his arms to the infirmary, which he narrated in the most heroic colors and yet she didn’t scold him for his actions. He then stayed by her side until the healer let her go and even walked her to her room. He was now sure that he already grasped that girl’s heart in his hands. While Ella didn’t know that her calm reaction would make Kamys think like that, she really did approve of him a little bit more now.

“No one in this school, except for you, knocks in people’s doors so loud.” Boe didn’t smile while talking to Kamys and even gave off a barely noticeable sinister aura. This made Kamys feel a little uncomfortable so that he even felt his body slightly tremble.

“Are you here to remind me that my fight will begin in an hour?” Boe noticed Kamys’ reaction, but he didn’t really care about that right now. He was already prepared to demonstrate his demonification form in this fight, so his current aura was nothing compared to shock everyone will receive later.

“You really do read my mind, aren’t you? Are you really sure you can defeat that Ligu guy? If you aren’t certain, just forfeit the match and I will kick his ass for you later.”

“Thanks for your kind intentions, but I already decided to ruin him myself.” When Boe said these words, Kamys felt a cold shiver run down his spine. He glanced at Boe’s eyes and was shocked to see a savage desire to kill in them.

Boe stood up from his bed and walked out of his room, Kamys stood inside of the room for a few seconds before he managed to wake up from the daze and chase after Boe.

“HAN LIGU AND BOE NAS, PROCEED TO THE GOLDEN DRAGON SCENE, YOUR FIGHT STARTS IN ONE MINUTE.”

Boe was already standing on the stage with his eyes closed, while Han has only just entered the building.

“KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!” The whole building started trembling from the cheers of people for the Ligu family. While killing opponents in battle ranking matches was prohibited, people of Ligu family were training in pure killing techniques so it was a very usual occurrence for their opponents to be seriously injured.

SV was standing as close to the stage as she could, she was prepared to jump in to save Boe at any moment. Kamys was standing near her, his thoughts were in a complete mess. At the morning, he was worried about Boe and wanted to protect him from Han, but after the short talk in Boe’s room, he was now a little afraid of Boe himself. He didn’t understand what the feeling, but he was sure that Boe became a lot more dangerous and unpredictable.

“So you came after all? I thought you would abandon everything and flee from the school.” Han walked up to the stage and looked at Boe with a gaze full of arrogance and disdain. At first, he thought that Boe had something up his sleeve that could threaten him, but when Boe came to publicly apologize to him, he stopped worrying and became absolutely certain of his victory. In Han’s eyes, Boe was now a mere ant under his shoes.

To everyone’s surprise, Boe didn’t respond to Han’s obvious provocation. He didn’t even open his eyes.

“You can start a fight.”

“Still not opening your eyes? Well, regret this in your grave then!” After the referee announced the start of a fight, Han waited for a few seconds for Boe to open his eyes, but Boe didn’t react to it in any way. Han was enraged by Boe’s actions, he was a powerful rank 1 wizard, who wasn’t too far from breaking through to rank 2 already, but Boe behaved himself like he didn’t care about that at all.

‘Since you want to die here so badly, I won’t disappoint you and I even might get something from Harson as a bonus for this.’ Han clearly knew that he couldn’t kill Boe within a school, but since Boe didn’t defend himself, he could just launch his strongest attack from the beginning and then blame everything on Boe’s arrogance and stupidity. Han understood that he would definitely be punished, but with his family’s influence he would only receive a light punishment for this.

“Karangy nur” Han whispered a chant for his “Ray of darkness” technique; it was the most powerful attacking technique he mastered.

Light in the whole building dimmed a little, and a small black ray shot from Han’s hands in Boe’s direction. This technique consumed almost 30% of Han’s battle aura so he was sure that it would kill Boe the instant it would reach Boe’s forehead.

“KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!” Ligu family’s cheers became even louder when they noticed what technique Han used.

Kamys’ heart stopped, he focused on Boe’s movements and a ray of darkness that was moving in Boe’s direction. In Kamys’ mind, the whole world was now consumed by darkness of that huge black ray.

When SV was ready to save Boe, she blinked and Boe vanished from the place he was standing a moment ago. Panic took over her heart when she realized that Boe wasn’t on the stage.

When Boe heard Han chanting his technique, he already activated his demonification form and was ready to act at any time. Then Han directed his ray in Boe’s direction, he was sure it would hit the mark. But Boe’s speed, strength, agility and reaction were far stronger in his demonification form, so he waited the ray to reach a distance where Han would relax his guard and then started moving.

Han was standing still and smiling, while watching his ray of darkness reaching a point a few meters away from Boe.

At that moment, Boe suddenly jerked his body to the left, ran few meters and jumped into the air. The speed of his movements was too fast even for an ordinary rank 2 wizard and he was hidden behind Han’s ray, so Han didn’t even notice Boe’s sudden movement.

After a moment, SV concentrated and noticed a shadow on the stage. Shadow was already a few meters away from Han, then she looked above and her jaws dropped.

Han noticed that a lot of people were looking above his head so he raised his head and saw Boe spinning in the air and moving toward him.

”Kyolyokyo Kalkan” Han tried to activate his “Shadow shield” defensive technique, but wasn’t able to finish it in time, so it wasn’t fully functional.

*BOOM*

*crack*

Boe’s leg hit Han right in the head, it penetrated through Han’s incomplete defense and people even heard Han’s skull cracking.

Han felt pain in his head only for a moment, then all sounds disappeared and he could only hear his heart beating inside of him. Thick dark red blood dripped from his head down all over his body, he touched the blood with his hand and stared at it in disbelief. How could there be so much blood if he didn’t even feel pain?

*BUMP*

Han lost an ability to stand and his body hit the floor. He already lost consciousness, but disbelief and horror was still reflected on his face.

The whole building was drawn in a heavy silence. Boe was standing two meters away from Han’s body, staring at his already crippled opponent with cold gaze.

Most of the people were now completely focused on Han’s motionless body, not knowing how to react.

“YOU BASTARD! I WILL KILL YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!” Suddenly silence was interrupted by an enraged scream of a middle-aged man in black robe. It was Qin Ligu, Han’s father and one of high ranked elders of the Ligu family. He jumped up and was prepared to kill Boe on the spot.

*BANG*

Qin’s fist was easily stopped by SV’s hand. She grabbed Qin’s fist and squeezed it until cracking sounds were heard.

“Don’t forget that you’re currently on the territory of my school and act appropriately.” SV glanced at Qin and then at all other people of Ligu family.

“Sky Venom, he crippled my son! Are you really prepared to go against my family for that little scoundrel?” Qin knew that he is no match for SV, but he wasn’t afraid of her or anyone from this school, because he had a backing of his patriarch.

“This was a fair fight between two students of my school. Your son attacked with a deadly move first, Boe had only responded in a similar way. It’s your son’s fault that he underestimated his opponent and didn’t activate his defense before starting a battle. While Boe’s actions were indeed ruthless, they were still within the school’s rules, your son is still alive after all.” SV looked at Han, healers of the school were already making their best to stop the damage and fix everything they could.

“My son is definitely gravely injured; he might even lose some of his memories or even become a complete cripple. And you will just let him go after all that?” Qin wanted to chop Boe down to pieces, while he was screaming with eyes red from anger and saliva spitting all over the place.

“You should not concern yourself with Boe’s punishment. I will hand this case to our director personally. He will investigate this event and will definitely come up with a fair judgement.” SV used director’s name specifically to scare off Ligu family for at least a short period of time. Even though both Ligu’s patriarch and director were of the same rank, director was certainly a lot stronger.

“You will regret this decision, Sky Venom!” Qin turned around, took his son in his hands and left the building. All Ligu family members followed behind Qin, each of them taking a cold glance at Boe.

SV was now looking at Boe with a very complicated expression on her face. She noticed a strange aura on Boe’s body when he attacked Han and was very interested in its origin, but now was not the time to ponder about this.

‘I hope I wasn’t wrong when I decided to put my faith in this boy…’
