Chapter 11 - Reason to enter

*KNOCK-KNOCK*

Boe has been in his room only for a few minutes when someone came knocking on his door. He slowly got up and walked to open his door.

“So you’re really alive, where is another kid?” As Boe expected the one who came looking for him was his senior Lok Tar, who was with him back in a spider’s cave.

“I don’t know what happened to him, when a second spider appeared we ran in different directions and I never seen him again after that. I went deeper into cave while John ran in your direction.” Boe came up with this story long ago, so Lok’s questions were not a problem for him.

“Come with me to the professor Sky Venom’s office.” Lok didn’t even wait for Boe’s answer as he turned around and started walking.

“I’m glad you survived, Boe. I already punished Lok Tar for his stupid actions in the cave. He shouldn’t…” Before Sky Venom finished saying what she wanted to say, she noticed that Boe has already became a rank 1 wizard and her eyes went wide from shock.

“How did you breakthrough to the rank 1 in merely three months? And you weren’t even training in school, did you find some kind of ancient legacy in that cave? Quick, tell me everything that happened to you in these three months without hiding anything.” Sky Venom’s eyes changed and Boe felt shock and greed from them.

“When me and John went deeper into the cave, we found spider’s eggs and started destroying them, but after a few seconds another Giant Huntsman spider appeared. When it attacked us, John ran back to senior Lok’s direction while I dodged the attack and went in deeper into the cave. After running for an hour I didn’t notice a hole on the floor, fell into it and lost consciousness. When I woke up, I was in complete darkness, but I wasn’t injured at all. I tried to move around, but found out that I was inside of a little room. Then I noticed that density of shadow attribute battle aura inside of that room was insanely high, so I started training in a battle teaching and trying to breakthrough to the rank 1. I spent 3 months inside that cave doing nothing but training and eating mushrooms. When I managed to breakthrough I jumped out of the room and escaped from the cave.”

“Why didn’t you just jumped out of that room right after you fell?” Lok Tar didn’t believe in Boe’s words at all.

“I tried to do it, but I was too weak and couldn’t jump so high at the moment. When I brokethrough to the rank 1, my physical strength increased tenfold so it became very easy for me to get out and I did it straight away.”

“I guess this speed of progress is possible with your attribute affinity if that room had a shadow attribute density higher than in our school’s territory.” Sky Venom didn’t look very convinced, but Boe didn’t really care about that. If she would decide to go check that cave out and somehow found Thomas’ mansion, she would definitely be killed by Tsude. In this school only director of the school could be Tsude’s match, but even if he went there, found a mansion, killed Tsude and entered it, he would certainly die by Alfred’s hands.

“If you don’t have any other questions, I would like to go to the cafeteria to eat proper food and then go back to my room to sleep in comfortable bed.” Boe was acting as if he was very tired and didn’t eat anything other than mushrooms for three months.

“You can go for now, but come here tomorrow, I have a few things I want to discuss with you.”

When Boe left Sky Venom’s office he went to the cafeteria. He was walking without looking at anyone on his way, thinking that he shouldn’t activate his demonification or use any techniques he got from the Thomas’ mansion for now. He was planning to check all shadow attribute techniques available in this school and only use those that wouldn’t get anyone’s attention.

“Brother Boe, what a nice surprise to see you again so soon!” Kamys walked up to Boe with cheerful look on his face.

“So you were accepted, congratulations, Kamys Tad.” Boe was very cold and absent-minded.

“You should just call me Kamys since we are now both students of the same professor.” It appears that Kamys decided to befriend Boe despite his cold character.

“So you’re the rumored genius level new guy?” Before Boe could say anything else he heard a very sweet voice behind him. When he turned around he saw Ella walking up to them.

“I’m Kamys Tad, may I know your name my beautiful princess?” To Boe’s and Ella’s shock, Kamys suddenly ran to Ella, knelt on one knee, took her arm and kissed it before anyone could react.

“Wh-what are you doing, get away from me!!” Even though Ella was usually very graceful, her face now was red and she started falling when she tried to step back from Kamys.

“I’m very sorry I scared you, my love.” Right when she almost hit the floor, Kamys managed to stand up, get close to Ella and catch her. Ella was now laying in Kamys arms, while he was looking right in her eyes with a gaze full of love and desire.

“Kamys, stop bullying her, she is your senior sister here, after all” Boe was chuckling, he never expected Kamys to be this kind of man.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Kamys helped Ella to stand back up and then walked and stood close to Boe, “I wasn’t bullying her, she is my future wife, so I had to be courteous and gentle when I first met her.”

“Future wife? What makes you think you have what it takes to become my husband? I’m Elleanore Kenthy, second daughter of ancient Kenthy family. If you will touch me one more time, then don’t blame me for what will happen to you after.” Ella calmed herself and was now looking as elegant as ever.

“I already decided that you will be my wife, so no matter what you think or say now, you will be mine for sure.” Kamys looked like he was saying a very obvious thing, he wasn’t looking arrogant at all when he was saying that.

“Hmph.” Ella turned around and left without saying a single word in response. While Kamys was very straight forward and a little too pushy, he was after all a very attractive young man, so Ella had a very flushed face at the moment.

“Alright, brother Boe, lets now drink for our new friendship!” Kamys looked to be even happier than he usually been after all that.

“We are in school, Kamys, there are no alcohol here…” Boe felt like emotions started to appear in him again.

Boe then spent entire evening with Kamys, he liked being with Kamys for some reason. After he got back to his room, he directly went to sleep. On the next morning Boe went to the SV’s office right after he woke up.

*KNOCK-KNOCK*

“Come in.”

“Big sis SV, why did you need me here today?”

“Since you have already advanced to rank 1 wizard, you are now eligible to participate in our school’s annual ranking competition. Director wants you to participate in it, but I think it’s too early for you to be there. You don’t have enough techniques to use in combat and you have zero battle experience. Even though director personally recommended you to participate, you can decline the invitation.”

“What kind of competition is it? What are rules and what will I get if I will win?” Boe was interested in experiencing battles against other wizards, but he didn’t want to get injured or reveal his hidden abilities, so he wouldn’t agree to it if it was too dangerous.

“Each year all students who reached rank 1 are allowed to register to participate in power ranking competition. In two months, school will stop accepting applications and will create a list of all participants. Everyone who already participated in power ranking competitions before will be listed according to last year’s results and will have their own rank. All new participants will just be listed in alphabetical order after them without a rank. From the moment when school will release a power ranking list, all participants will have an opportunity to raise their ranks for three months.”

“What should participant do in order to raise his rank?” Boe felt that system was quite fair so far.

“All new participants can challenge any unranked participants and if they win they will take the last place in ranking. All participants who already have a rank can challenge anyone who is within 50 ranks above them, if they win they will take a rank of a loser, while loser will drop 1 rank down. And you can’t decline a challenge from anyone whose rank is lower than yours within 50 ranks. Also, anyone can challenge participants who have a lower rank than them. While you can decline this kind of challenge without any problems, if you will be able to win in that challenge then you will get challenger’s rank and challenger will drop to the last place.”

“Those rules are very intriguing, can you let me think about them for a month?”

“Take your time and think it through. If you will need any help in getting more techniques or anything else just come to me.” SV evidently placed high hopes on Boe and was treating him a lot better than any other student of hers.

“Then I have to be rude and ask big sis to help me right now…” Boe then asked SV to give him a weapon to use and all shadow attribute techniques she could get.

Even though Boe had to flatter and even beg SV, he got to see quite a lot of techniques. SV didn’t give all of them to him, but let him choose any five techniques he wanted to learn.

First one he got was “Shadow Clone” which wasn’t the technique he already knew, but rank 1 attack technique. This technique had the same chant, but it was using a lot more battle aura and was a little different in core aspects of forming a clone from battle aura. Clone formed with this technique could talk and even make a few moves before dissipating.

Second and third techniques were “Shadow Hand” and “Blinding darkness” and they were the same techniques he already knew. These techniques were one of the core techniques of all shadow wizards, they were easy to learn and were raising in power together with their user.

Fourth technique he chose was called “Amplification”, it was one of the most common techniques in the whole world. Even his brother used it back when they encountered wild beasts. The function of this technique was just to add a layer of the battle aura onto weapon or body of the user. It was a very simple but effective technique, the power of this technique was completely dependent on a power of the user.

The last technique was “Vitality devourer”, it was a forbidden attack technique, which allowed the user to drain battle aura from the enemy and restore his own battle aura. Only dark wizards who are not scared of light wizards and other heroes would use this technique on their enemies.

As for a weapon, Boe tried to get some kind of claws from SV, but there weren’t any weapons in a form of claws available in school’s weaponry. SV allowed Boe to enter first level of weaponry and choose anything he wanted, after Boe looked through all weapons there, he felt very dispirited. After seeing Thomas’ weaponry and being used to fight with his Claws of Enthriil, every weapon in here seemed like a dried branch in comparison.

In the end, Boe just picked a bow from weaponry and decided to practice his archery with it. SV was very disappointed in his choice, she told him many times that he needed close combat weapon in case he will decide to participate in power ranking competition, but Boe didn’t listen to her at all. He was planning to use only his fists and techniques to win a competition if he would participate.

When he finished picking everything he wanted, he left SV in her office and went to his room.

“Hey, aren’t you supposed to be dead?” Right when Boe almost entered his room, he heard a familiar voice.

“Harson of the great Vito family, right?” Boe still remembered that this blonde young man was trying to bully him for no reason when he just entered the school.

“You’re already a rank 1 wizard?!” Harson was shocked when he noticed it.

“Yep.” Boe didn’t want to talk with Harson so he turned around and was planning to enter his room.

“So what if you’re rank 1 wizard, trash is still trash! Do you dare to enter power ranking competition and fight me?” Boe didn’t understand why would Harson hate him so much, but he wouldn’t let some spoilt child offend him.

“I guess now I have a reason to enter that competition…” As he said those words, Boe activated his demonification for a split second and looked Harson in the eyes. When Harson met Boe’s gaze, he felt his legs go numb as he fell to his knees. When Boe closed the door behind him, Harson understood what’s happened and immediately stood up as if nothing happened, but his whole body was still trembling and covered with cold sweat.
