Cassandra
Year 820 | Month 8 | Day 8
Not long before the golem general’s arrival
I give a firm nod of my head at the sight of the fortress I just annihilated, including both the golems stationed inside of it and the wall I incinerated. Because the golem general deserves this.
After doing all of that, I go ahead and take a short break inside of the general’s own office. Just sitting down on its office chair – which isn’t comfortable – and finally looking at my rewards from the Corrupted Dungeon Mission.

Corrupted Dungeon Mission Complete!
Title: The Wrath of the Salamanders
You have decided to leave the dungeon during its closure. Therefore, your rewards will now be selected based off of the progress you have made in completing the mission objectives.
Rewards:
For completing Objective 1, you have been rewarded with 30000000 EXP.
For completing Objective 2, you have been rewarded with 20000000 EXP and one Tier 6 [Random Item Draw]
For completing Objective 3, you have been rewarded with one Tier 6 Drake Repellant

All very lovely rewards.
And enough EXP to almost reach the level cap of Tier 4, in fact. So I quickly level myself up twice more until I’m level 39. Just two levels from the cap. Seeing as I need to pay the EXP price to reach level 41 even if it doesn’t let me level until I finish the Tier Breach Mission it gives me after paying said price.
Which I still think is annoying and stupid.
I glance at one of the walls as I sense a rather strong source of Wrath energy that I recognize flying this way. A source no doubt belonging to the leader of the golems.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Now I should be strong enough to face off against him after leveling up like this.
So before I leave the office to meet him outside of the fortress, I glance at the drake repellant before finding it to be something that makes the drake avoid me. Which is no doubt a reward for anyone who clears the mission making it so that they don’t have to be afraid of the drake afterwards.
Then I activate the Tier 6 Random Item Draw and smile at the item I get from it.
This could be useful.
A grin finds its way onto my face.
Very useful indeed.

The moment of the general and Cass’s clash
Okay, I think this golem might be a little angry. Just a little though.
The golem is also doing something… strange. Something that seems to be empowering its attacks so much that we’re almost even now even in my The Calling of Wrath transformation – a transformation that’ll only last for another half an hour or so – with my enhanced strength and Wrath energy.
But there’s something off about it. Like the golem itself is growing weaker as he uses up more power.
Our strikes continue to send shockwaves all around us consisting of Wrath lightning, flames, and the golem’s Wrath steam. But neither of us slow down in our attacks, eventually slamming our other fist against each other, followed by another strike.
One after another, our fists clash. His being bare stone and mine with my fists covered by my armor.
After several dozen back-to-back strikes though, the golem suddenly backs off and spreads both of his arms out to the side while roaring. And in the process, making more and more Wrath steam flood out from the cracks in the humanoid golem’s form as said golem grows larger and larger. Soon eclipsing me by a good amount in size.
But that’s not all that happens. The steam itself seems to lower itself down to the ground before infusing itself into it and beginning to shift around the ground.
And what I see next has me startled for a moment as the ground itself begins to slowly split off and form multiple golems.
So many golems.
My eyes narrow a bit more before I flap my wings once to back away myself. Then I spread my own Wrath energy outwards and use both Wrathful Creation and my mana manipulation skills to create my own monsters made of Wrath energy.
And just my mere act of doing that seems to absolutely shock the golem enough that his rage slips for a moment. Decreasing his power ever so slightly thanks to the reduced Wrath.
I wonder what’s so shocking about me being able to create monsters like this?
Not really sure, but I don’t really care either way.
This golem has been getting on my nerves ever since I first heard about him. A general that is simply stupid and not fit to be a leader.
Which I get the feeling is why the other generals let him have this Tier. Since if they put up too much of a front in the fourth Tier of the Borderlands, it would show themselves off as being more competent. Which would make them more of a nuisance and potential threat to the Demon King’s reign.
Of course, this is with me assuming that the other generals are smarter than this one. A fact that the other demons here seem to at least believe even if they don’t have anywhere near as much information on the other demons as this particular golem general.
But the most important reason for my anger towards this golem is his blatant dismissal of any of my attempts to talk civilly with him. All while labeling me as some enemy just because he probably gave the wrong damned order to his forces.
And there’s no way to talk at this point, nor do I want to bother.
I just want to annihilate this damned golem and continue hunting in the Tier 4 area while I can. Before the other demon generals come calling, or the drake destroys this place first.
So that’s what I’m going to do.
And with that, I send my monsters of all kinds straight at the golems belonging to the golem general.
Beginning the little war here for real.
