The Coast of the Borderlands
Year 820 | Month 5 | Day 9
Del Vera slows to a halt when she reaches the coast of the Borderlands. At which point she immediately loses track of the strange, new archdemon’s trail. Simply because of the richness and sheer quantity of Wrath energy filling the Borderlands completely covering up even the small amount the new archdemon has been absorbing passively.
The high demon turns her gaze towards her partner, only to see him already reporting to the Demon King about the new situation. Then she looks down at the array of crimson ash filling the coast.
Several of the things this new archdemon has been doing are things no other demon has been able to do before. At least not at her Tier, since the new archdemon is of a lower Tier than even Del Vera herself. A mere Tier 4.
Like her flying without wings for example. Even a normal archdemon shouldn’t be able to form a cloud of Wrath lightning like she’s been doing until they’re Tier 6 at the very least.
Not that most demons would need to be able to do that…
Her thoughts go to the wings silently beating on her back.
Which only adds onto the ever-growing list of oddities surrounding the new archdemon. Since no archdemon has ever not had wings before.
And if Del Vera is being honest, the mere idea of an archdemon not having a perfect form, including wings, is ludicrous. Since the archdemons are meant to be perfect beings in every way.
Although she does admit that the new archdemon is beautiful. Something she can’t usually call the regular faceless archdemons.
Even if they put on a glamour to mimic a regular face.
“His Majesty gave the order to set up a search party and scour the Borderlands,” her partner, Val De, states in his usual apathetic voice.
Del Vera turns to look at him with a frown and asks, “He wants us to search the entire Borderland? Is that even possible?”
Her partner turns to look at her as he answers, “I suspect he doesn’t feel it’s urgent to capture her. That the new archdemon will show up to greet him at some point once she has finished what she wishes to accomplish in the Borderlands. So he only ordered to find her and not to capture her.”
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Not capture?
She frowns for a few seconds before eventually nodding her head, deciding that regardless of the order, the Demon King is always right.
So the two set down a teleportation marker and begin making their way back to the mainland in order to gather up a search party for the new archdemon.
While she does this though, a part of her feels relieved. Because even if the new archdemon is weaker and strange, she is still an archdemon. And therefore she still outranks Del Vera in every way.
There’s no way Del Vera could ever order her to do something against the archdemon’s will.

Cassandra
Year 820 | Month 5 | Day 11
A couple days pass by as I traverse my way through the Borderlands. Slowly making my way through the weaker Tiers of the place and towards the deeper areas. And as I travel, I can’t help but notice that my pursuers have given up the chase.
Which is a very nice albeit surprising development.
Although I can at least figure out part of the reason for their giving up. Seeing as there is so much Wrath energy in these Borderlands that it’d be practically impossible for them to track me even with my absorbing Wrath energy as I go.
All of the Wrath energy I absorb is being replaced in mere seconds after all.
But putting aside those forgotten pursuers, this abundant Wrath energy is very nice for progressing my Wrath Transformation. And it’s really nice to finally be receiving EXP again.
Also, now that I’ve had some time to rest without them chasing me, I finally level myself up a couple times with the EXP I had stored away. Which was quite a bit, including the EXP I got from the optional objective for my Tier Breach Mission.
Leaving me at level 33 now.
A nice boost in level considering how long I’d been stuck at level 30.
Other than my level though, I’ve also been getting used to the upgraded version of my Wrath energy manipulation skill. Which pretty much just made it easier for me to manipulate the Wrath energy. And things that were hard or stressful to do before are now a lot easier.
So overall, an upgrade, just like it said.
And one I’m very pleased about.
Eventually I arrive at my destination though. The Tier 4 sector of the Borderlands, which are filled with Tier 4 monsters.
Surprisingly enough, unlike the first three Tiers of the place which were mostly forests, the fourth Tier is… different. Very different.
The fourth Tier sector of the Borderlands is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s like I passed through some sort of portal the moment I stepped into the Tier 4 sector. Which I wouldn’t be surprised if I did.
Since the fourth Tier sector seems to be on large floating islands high in the sky, far above the clouds. And with strange rope bridges connecting the islands.
Meanwhile the monsters flying around here all seem to be avian.
As for the direction to continue deeper in? I’m guessing I just need to follow the bridges.
Not that I plan on going much deeper, considering that I’m already at the Tier 4 sector.
And I have no plans on going to the Tier 5 sector and getting myself killed.
Although…
I look around the place as I fly high into the air through my cloud of Wrath lightning.
…this place is beautiful.
A faint smile spreads across my face at the thought.
Floating islands high above the clouds, beautiful forests on top of the islands, and even the rope bridges between the islands. They all add up to make a rather peaceful ambience.
If I ignore the avian monsters flying around, that is.
Well, anyways, time to hunt.
