The Stone Fortress in the Tier 4 Branch of the Rebel’s Headquarters
Year 820 | Month 5 | Day 24
General Fralvariunte grunts as he hears the latest report from the lesser golem demons in front of his stone office.
The general has been irked lately. Because the strange archdemon has only been playing chase with his forces.
Every report he gets tells tale of the archdemon slaughtering his forces without a word before leaving. Or he simply hears nothing from his golems anymore after they were sent to make contact with the archdemon.
Fralvariunte would have preferred if the archdemon would work with them. But he couldn’t simply let the archdemon go after she killed his demons.
All of his demons are precious to him and his forces after all. And not a single one of them can be lost.
So he has been sending forces to take her down.
Yet none of them have returned.
It’s a really befuddling task the general has been given. With an equally befuddling archdemon target.
Wish. Not. My. Task.
The general looks down at his table, briefly wishing his face was capable of looking sad as he does so. Then he look up at the golem in front of him and manifests Wrath-filled earth around the golem to crush said golem for the once more upsetting report the golem gave him.
Just like how he crushed the last nine golem demons who gave him reports.
Lost. More. Too. Many. It. Hurt.
He wishes he could go find the archdemon responsible for killing his precious golem demons himself, but he is smart enough to know that the enemy is fast. Far too fast for him to ever catch.
General Arsen told him after all. And General Fralvariunte is smart.
Smart enough to know that whatever General Arsen says must be correct.
The general pauses as he receives a mentally transmitted request to enter his office from one of his other precious golem demons. And he, of course, accepts the request. Letting the golem demon inside moments later to begin his report.
“Demon King. Forces. Approaching. Pushing. Past. Territory.”
This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.
That gives the general pause as he once again wishes he had non-stone flesh to frown with. A very convenient capability not native to the golem type demons.
A pity.
His thoughts quickly return to the matter at hand. The approach of the Demon King’s forces on their territory.
Probably. New. Archdemon’s. Doing.
The general firmly nods his head with absolute confidence at that thought.
First. Kills. Precious. Demons. Now. Leads. Enemies?
General Fralvariunte moves around his office desk and accidentally crushes the demon golem giving his report as he walks.
Unforgivable. Must. Be. Killed.
Once he reaches the entrance to his office, he calls back to the demon he had accidentally crushed without realizing the demon is dead, “Order. More. Forces. To. Chase. I. Send. High. Demons. With.”
Then he leaves his office without another word and without looking back at the dead remains of the demon he crushed.
Now. Make. More. Golem. Demons.

Year 820 | Month 5 | Day 24
Something about the past week or so has me questioning the enemy commander’s intelligence. Not that I really have to question it, considering what I’ve heard about the general in charge of the Fourth Tier from the Demon King’s demons.
That the general of the Fourth Tier is… special.
He is stupid as hell but powerful.
Although most of his power doesn’t seem to come from magic. He just has a very tough body. So he is very physically strong when it comes to brute force strength.
That and he can make his own subordinates. Which is partially why they are all so stupid and golem-like.
Because he is literally creating them himself with his magic. Just like how I can create monsters with my Wrath energy.
So they pretty much are golems.
Most of them, at least.
Not all of them.
As for the commander’s intelligence…
I didn’t really believe that they would put such a stupid commander on what is pretty much their frontlines. Not at first at least. But now I’m starting to believe it after seeing how the golem-like demons don’t seem to learn anything from any of their defeats.
They’re just going at me with numbers and nothing more.
Every. Single Time.
I let out a sigh as I continue hunting monsters and demons through the Fourth Tier of the Borderlands. Just racking up the EXP.
Well, I guess it’s not entirely bad. Considering how much EXP these golem-like demons are getting me.
Which is quite a bit.
I feel a faint smile emerging on my face at that thought.
In fact, I might be getting more EXP from these demons than I am from the monsters. And that’s saying something.
Considering how close I’m getting already to reaching level 35.
The level that I need to reach in order to get my next skill.
I feel a faint rush of excitement at the thought of getting another skill for the first time in quite a while. And while I hunt, I can’t help but theorize about what sort of skill it could be.
Another attacking skill? One to make more monsters?
Maybe another transformation skill?
A grin stretches across my face as I kill another monster with a bolt of Wrath lightning.
Actually, a skill that absorbs more Wrath energy from my surroundings could be useful. Or even a skill to increase my natural amount of Wrath energy.
If I could absorb Wrath energy from other beings at a much faster rate, I’d be rather happy as well. Since there is a lot of Wrath energy to absorb from these demons and monsters. What with them all being made of Wrath energy.
So many different possibilities. Yet only one skill that I’ll be getting.
I frown at that thought.
Hopefully later Tiers will give more skills or something.
That would be nice.
Very nice indeed.
