B2 | Chapter 57 - A Golem’s Wrath

Somewhere within the Tier 4 sector of the Borderlands

Year 820 | Month 8 | Day 8

General Fralvariunte immediately turns his head towards the East when he feels a powerful wave of Wrath energy flooding everywhere within the entire Tier 4 sector of the Borderlands. And his instincts tell him that the energy is coming from the corrupted dungeon they found not long ago.

“Forces, move to corruption!!” the general shouts, his voice echoing out throughout the minds of all of the golem demons he’s created over the past month. All with the goal of searching for the archdemon who they haven’t seen for this entire time.

And while he’s at it, he quickly sends a message to the other generals warning them that the corrupted dungeon has broken. Because he knows they would get upset if he didn’t.

“Corrupted broken.”

The general nods his head with confidence about the clarity of his message before flying through the air in the direction of the corrupted dungeon. Hoping to keep it under control until the other generals arrive. The stronger generals.

But when he actually arrives at the site of the dungeon, he feels any confidence he once had leaving him in an instant.

Because the sight that greets him is one of a massive thirty-meter-long drake soaring into the skies above the islands. Meanwhile dozens of massive elite salamanders all fly into the air as well through using Wrath flames to float themselves upwards.

Tier 6… Tier 5…

It takes the general a mere moment to turn around and begin flying away in the direction of his fortress. Instantly abandoning his army of summoned demon golems in the process as the drake and elite salamanders take note of their presence.

And begin burning them all until they’re naught but ash.

Must. Flee.

General Fralvariunte flies as quickly as the stone wings he grew will allow him away from the drake and elite salamanders.

Flee. Good.

And fortunately for him, he manages to escape them. All thanks to the sacrifice of his army.

But that doesn’t change the anger the golem feels spreading to every pore of his poreless body at the latest events. At the breaking of the corrupted dungeon.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

He, in all his great and majestic majesticness, knows full well that a corrupted dungeon is inert unless someone enters it. So it will never break unless someone foolishly goes inside of it, sacrificing themselves in the process as there is no way most people would survive inside of one.

Even the great General Fralvariunte would never enter a corrupted dungeon.

And the fact that the dungeon has shattered and the Tier 6 monster ruling it has been released into the Tier 4 sector is all the great general needs to know in order to realize that someone entered it.

Who. Did. It?! Someone. Did. But. Who?

The great general wracks his metaphorical brain about it throughout his entire trip back to his fortress. Only to freeze when he finally arrives at a shocking sight. One of his fortress having a massive hole in the side of it that’s been turned to crimson ash. Along with all of the golems that were stationed in the fortress.

WHO?! WHO. DID. THIS?!

Then the golem finally realizes that the Wrath energy coming from the fortress has nothing to do with his forces or the drake like he’d originally assumed. And the perpetrator herself appears flying out of the fortress on draconic wings looking like a mixture of one of the fabled human creatures and the even more fabled dragons.

The creature has long black hair with glowing crimson eyes and a single mask covering the lower half of her face. She has large, scaled wings stretching out from her back, a reptilian tail reminiscent of the drake that he’d just seen trailing down below her growing from her hips, and a set of black and crimson armor and a black cloak covering most of her skin.

But the immense Wrath energy the general senses coming from the creature tells him exactly who she is. That it is just another one of her transformations.

“ARCHDEMON! HOW! DARE! YOOOUUUUUU!!!!” General Fralvariunte roars, his stony voice echoing across the entire fortress as Wrath energy black and crimson steam leaks out from his joints before rising into the air. Following which the golem immediately shoots straight at the archdemon with his fist pulled back, ready to strike.

To his surprise, the archdemon flies straight at him and meets his punch with one of her own. Making Wrath lightning and flames both shoot out from the woman’s fist to combat the Wrath steam leaving the cracks in his fist’s joints.

But. How?! She. Weak!

His mind goes in circles with as much speed as it can before he finally takes into account the strength he senses in her body and not just her Wrath energy. Strength that is far stronger than it was the last time he or his golems spotted her.

Then it all finally clicks in his mind, and he understands.

He understands that the archdemon was the one who entered the corrupted dungeon, turning their operation within the sector on its head.

“HOOWWWW. DAAAAARRREEE. YOOUUUUUU!!!!” He roars once more while attempting to put more force and Wrath energy into his attack. Feeding his Wrath steam with his anger as he does so.

But even with the enhanced strength from his anger fueling his attack, it still only makes his attack more even with the archdemon’s own.

And that pisses him off even more. To the point that – after sending a brief two-word message to the other generals detailing that the archdemon was responsible for the corrupted dungeon breaking – he lets out another roar and pushes all of his Wrath energy into his attack. Giving it every last bit he has, including some of the life force used to run his golem body.

The only reaction his actions get him though is that of the archdemon narrowing her eyes a little bit and flaring her own Wrath energy in response.

Getting ready to start the true battle.
