Cassandra
Year 820 | Month 5 | Day 5
I can’t help but feel rather happy that the idiot managed to fall into my trap. Because, to be brutally honest, that necromancer didn’t matter to me whatsoever. He was just a nuisance getting in my way.
This guy on the other hand is the thief and kidnapper.
Without hesitation, I yank the bond I feel with the item that Nidhogg gave me, causing a strange purple field to cover everything around us. And the thief’s gaze immediately darkens after seeing that.
“Where did you get this?! This shouldn’t be something a newly initialized world can…” he begins to shout, only to trail off as his eyes widen with realization. Likely understanding that I got it from the Protector of this plane. “But that shouldn’t be possible! A Protector shouldn’t be able to interfere this directly with conflicts between mortals during an invasion on their plane!”
That statement has me frowning, but only for a moment. Then I charge forwards while sparking with Wrath lightning. And the man tries to counter with purplish-red flames.
To my surprise, the flames actually succeed in blocking some of my lightning. But not enough of it.
Lightning is more destructive than flames after all.
The man lets out a grunt of pain when the lightning strikes him. But that’s not all, as I never stopped charging forwards during this. So I soon claw at him, sending him flying with a cry of pain.
And as if that wasn’t enough, my monsters all begin pouncing on him as well, the man quickly attempting to get up, but failing miserably.
Okay, this guy is a lot weaker than I was expecting.
I glance up at the purple tainted sky.
Then again, he’s unable to teleport or do any spatial magic right now. So he’s probably fighting with extremely limited abilities.
I lower my head again and begin approaching the man, who just killed two of my monsters.
My eyes narrow and I surprisingly feel a sense of rage at the death of my monsters. And without hesitation, I charge forwards and stomp straight down on him right when he’s about to attack another monster, finding the man unable to dodge me in the time because of it.
He coughs out a mouthful of blood on me before seemingly giving up and just lying on his back with a light smile on his face.
I feel more than a little surprised at the sight of it, but then he coughs again and slowly says, “Please… kill High General Reynold *cough* Chandler…”
Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
Wait, is he asking me for a last wish or something? Some sort of final request? From the enemy killing him? That he tried enslaving?
This guy might just be one of the most shameless people I’ve ever met.
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out the red crystal that I’m looking for. And the very instant it’s exposed to my Wrath Aura, without me even doing anything, it dissolves into a deep and thick crimson and black mist. One that moves into my body and begins to fill me, empowering me.
My mind blanks from the sheer power entering me, and I for some reason hear a crunching sound, along with a cough.
Then, when my vision returns to me, I find the man beneath me already dead.
Oh. Oops.
I glance down at my claws, which accidentally dug deep into him while also snapping his spine from that little bout of ecstasy.
Anyways, a new System Note appears in my vision.

User has now absorbed their Wrath Crystal.
The skill ‘Basic Wrath Manipulation’ has now been granted to the user.
User may directly control Wrath energy itself without the use of other skills. However, Basic Wrath Manipulation is limited to manipulating the Wrath energy within one meter of the user. Furthermore, it cannot be leveled up.
The only way to improve the skill is to reach Tier 4 and obtain the skill ‘Minor Wrath Manipulation.’

Right. Got it.
A wave of knowledge fills my mind, making my eyes widen again. Then, after it’s done, I narrow my eyes and raise a claw, using the new skill to control the Wrath energy inside of me to create crimson lightning above my claw.
Nice.
I try to send the lightning out to strike at the ground, but I find that I lose all control of it the moment it leaves the meter range. To the point that it just makes a b-line for the ground instead.
Not sure why.
Well, that aside, I open up my Mission Objectives for the Tier Breach Mission. And just as suspected, there’s only one more objective remaining.
To bring my Wrath Transformation to 5%.
So basically I just have to repeatedly use The Calling of Wrath to transform until I eventually bring my transformation up to a high enough point. Which might take a while.
In the meantime though, I have somewhere I need to visit.
I quickly turn before charging across the clearing, heading straight towards the Dark Forest. And even after reaching the trees, I don’t stop, instead charging through them and knocking many of the trees down in my path.
Eventually I finally stop once I reach the world vein at the border between the inner and outer rings of the forest. But even then, I just charge straight down there, then past the monsters who don’t even try to stop me this time, and then up the other side of the little canyon the vein is located in.
Alright… so, he should be here somewhere…
I look around the Dark Forest’s Inner Ring, still in my beast transformation. But even after half an hour of searching, I don’t find anything.
Did Thrix 2 die?
No, he wouldn’t have. Would he?
He was a rather flimsy creature.
I still remember how I’d yank him around with me everywhere, more often than not by the neck.
Several more minutes pass as I search before I finally come upon the old cave that I used to spend time in. And to my surprise, the barrier around the cave, which should’ve long since run out of power, is still running strong.
Huh. Interesting.
Maybe he’s still residing in the cave?
Might as well check it out.
