Chapter 3: Justice Comes for All!

Chapter 3: Justice Comes for All!

Unfortunately for everyone in a certain nearby town, the car that the forager tried to run to had a map. Justitia didn't take long to find it, and has decided that the town would be a great place to administer justice. It is the right thing to do after all. Further east-wards are many forests, and the map had circled the forested area with red markers. There was also some smaller text on what kind of monsters are found in these forests, and to 'stay away'. Justitia doesn't know if monsters sin, but if they were seen as evil by evil men, they might not be sinners.

They also had some snacks on them, and Justitia happily appropriated them in the name of the state. Don't worry, she check and found that since the men had no legally recognized wills their possessions upon death would go to the state. Since Justitia is the highest ranking U.N.E. officer on the planet right now, that means her. The snacks in question are wrapped ration bars, and dried meat. Justitia didn't know whether these snacks are tasty, or if they are the worst food. She doesn't have any example, but she believes she prefers the dried meat over the ration bars.

Or at least, that was her opinion before she had a drink from a bottle with the name 'Spezzi' on it. She decided that after having a drink, the snacks are sub-par in this world. She could almost understand these men turning to evil deeds to be able to sustain having a tasty thing, but she is an angel of justice. There will be no excuse for evil deeds, regardless of the taste of the fizzy drink. The drink did however, taste very processed. The heavy salt on the dried meat, and the wrapper around the bar also all point to one thing. They were planning to do evil on a longer term basis, and they were also returning from an evil expedition.

Checking through the trunk of the car, she finds numerous wares appropriated by the men. Sheets of metal that look out of place, a dead spider, and a strong bag filled with various herbs. These used to be evil items, for evil men. Now they are all her property, and are hers to use. The car is useless to her, but the dead spider is stuffed in the bag, and the metal plates strapped around her back with a rope. It is time for justice to find more sin, and she knows just where to find some.

----------------------------------------

Fritz Kraulman is not having a good day. Today is his turn on sentry duty, and so far it is as normal. It fucking sucks.

So far, a pigeon has shat on his helmet, and he's pretty sure he saw one of those mutant spiders move in the distance. The only lucky thing about all this is that he managed to get a new helmet before any pigeon shit escaped the top of his helmet, and those blasted spiders never get close if they know what's good for them. Another consolation of sentry duty, is being able to just watch the hustle and bustle of the small market in town. People are always moving out and about there with smiles, and even here Fritz can see their smiles. As long as he isn't caught slacking by the sergeant, he can simply watch from afar.

Today however, is a little different. People walk the streets with practiced paranoia, and frequently stare at items in the stall. He would too if everything was suddenly named, and had a description. Everyone first thought some mutant had cursed their little town out in nowhere, but word from the radio was that this phenomenon was worldwide. Suspicions are on a big coalition of mutant planets having found us, and some radio's have reported weirdly dressed mutants wandering in a lot of places, failing utterly to blend into the environment.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

The environment of gray wasteland, and tattered people that is. Because as the person on sentry duty, he has to see everything.

And he can see, that sentry duty fucking sucks. His mind wanders to nicer places, like the kids running around with candy in their mouths, and mothers shopping for grocer-

"Hey!" Fritz snaps out of his thoughts, as a heavenly voice calls out to him... from outside the fence. Sure enough when he looks at the fence, a woman stands there pointing some scales at him. A beautiful woman in a robe... with wings. The mutant looks at him, and doesn't look to happy despite her eyes being covered by a blindfold, she clearly wants something from him.

"Uhhh... the gate is that way." Fritz points towards where the gate is, bigger cities apparently have lines standing outside waiting to be let in, but this little town has little traffic. So he understands if she didn't see the gate. He's just hoping the mutant doesn't tell sarge he was slacking again, that would be a too fitting way to his already shit day.

Fritz is proven correct by his assumption of his day getting worse, when the woman flaps her wings, and simply crosses the barbwire fence like it isn't there. He tries to respond in any way as he actually goes from seeing some wandering vagrant, to an actual threat. He tries to raise his weapon at the woman, some old rifle, but instead he is met with a blade as bright as the sun. Just like that, the man's life is extinguished silently. He didn't even have time to scream, and his body is now a fine cloud of ash to drift in the wind.

Justitia smiles, another sinner has been shown justice. Didn't he know that militias are evil? The scales always speak the truth, and it makes sense when she thinks about it. She is justice, and militias take justice in their own hands. Evil comes in many shape and size. She looks to some playing children, and points the [Scales of Justice (U.N.E. lawbook)] at the little ones. All must be clean and pure.

[You judge [Heinrich Haverstadt] using the scales! He is found guilty of stealing 45 credits worth of candy, he is found guilty of lacking a birth certificate, he is found guilty of driving without a license, he is found guilty of 2 parking violations (parking without a license, parking outside a designated parking spot), he is found gu-

Is there truly no one without sin in the world? Will Justitia have to make the whole world right on her own?

[As an underage child, [Heinrich Haverstadt] is not eligible for crimes, instead his legal guardian is responsible for his actions.]

Justitia thinks to herself, so children do sin, but the sin is transferred to the parents? She doesn't know how she feels about this, but she is happy she won't have to kill everyone here. She will only need to find the mother instead. As expected, everyone else in town has similar results. Justitia decides to wait with dealing with the sinners, until she has checked everyone in town for sin. It would be bad if they all ran in different directions.

She looks around from the watchtower, no one has noticed the absence of Fritz yet, and Justitia will need to use her time she has to the fullest. Looking around, she can tell that finding all sinners will be the easy part, but dispatching of all of them in a timely manner might become difficult. Until she finds what is clearly a barracks, with the evil militias right inside. It would be good if she dealt with all resistance at the start, that would greatly aid her in the time to come.

Her other target would certainly be the gate, for some reason they only have one gate, and it would be best if she secured it to prevent sinners from escaping. After that it would be a simple matter of clearing out the trapped rats.

Today is such a good day for Justitia, she hasn't had any other days, but she feels like if she will have more, then this day will be one of her better days.
