Chapter 27: Revealing Hell

Chapter 27: Revealing Hell

Justitia stares out of the window at the planet below, with BARZA in hand. The large obelisk lacks a means of locomotion, and asked to be carried by her rather than one of its machines. Something about it being a power-move. Justitia didn't know movement becomes strong when you are being carried, but she's sure it's just a BARZA thing. Speaking of BARZA, he hasn't been great lately, but he says he's fine so Justitia will trust its word.

"." BARZA manages to stutter it out, even if just barely.

"Sure, as long as it won't hamper my capabilities, it should be fine." Justitia likes talking to BARZA much more than anyone else here, because even as it asks her for something valuable, it still doesn't radiate greed.

The others here all look at her with various looks that she's familiar with. Any locals look at her with wrath, any foreign dignitaries look at her with greed, and one of the Melthazarians even looks at her with... lust? Disgusting. Regardless, BARZA said it would be good for her to attend as it would help her understand people better, and why they do things. Apparently understanding why people do things is a vital component on judging whether what they did was good or bad, it didn't elaborate on this as usual, as BARZA still doesn't want to tell her too much on morality.

"Ah think everyone is here now, I believe tha' means we can start." A dwarf loudly announces, clearly annoyed at one of the beverages served by the crystal hosts. Members of Glass Sky work together to quickly conjure a large table with chairs for everyone to sit at, and the delegates take their seats while shooting suspicious glares at each other. As soon as everyone has sat down, the merchant faction immediately start berating the invader faction, while the independents look on in curiosity, and the locals simply look confused.

"You are jeopardizing an already volatile planet with your invasion! Do you know what the transport costs are for area's slightly away from portals and in one of your zones of control? What have you been doing to secure the roads?" The dryad representing The Wild is not happy with any of the invaders, or more specifically, their lack of being able to secure supply lines.

"The locals are being a nuisance wherever our supply lines are located, perhaps if your kind would be less greedy and see the bigger picture, you could see that if this world was under control of Pash'tarva, that it would be much easier for you to acquire your precious metals." An elf from Pash'tarva dressed in high-quality silk retorts to the dryad.

Justitia gets a small note from an ant-like person, the note requesting she and the representative of The Lost have a talk. She glances over at where The Lost are sitting, with some more members of The Hive are talking to someone she knows. Generalfeldmarschall Krantz, recently promoted due to military concerns, gives a small nervous wave in her direction before continuing his talks with The Hive. Justitia's opinion of the man is... complicated, but she sees no reason to hold a grudge. Picking BARZA up from its little stool which gave it vision of the verbal fighting these people call a diplomatic mission, she simply stands up, and walks toward Krantz.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

For a moment the ballroom goes quiet, as the squabbling diplomats stop paying attention to each other, and all look as the Seraphim slowly walks to The Lost delegation. Oscar Krantz is practically sweating bullets right now, only he knows if it's from all the delegates looking in his direction, or because Judgement is heading right for him at a calm pace. As she puts down the large obelisk she was carrying along, she gives a curt bow to the highly uncomfortable sitting man.

"Greeting Generalfeldmarschall, we are the representatives of the father who resides in the heavens. You wanted to speak to me?" Justitia doesn't say it exceptionally loud, but with the eerie silence in the ballroom, everyone hears it.

"Representatives for the father in the heavens? Are you claiming to be a holy messenger?" A paladin from Melthazar looks to be seething in wrath as he aims a scornful gaze at Justitia.

"I do not claim anything, any assumptions you make are your own." Justitia tries to turn back to the man who invited her to talk in the first place, but gets interrupted again.

"If you represent your father in the heavens, What does he even want?" A necromancer from the union asks, and somehow Melthazar manages to look angrier than before.

Justitia turns to BARZA, who takes the cue to answer the question. "."

"And where is this Earth? It's rather rude to bombard a planet you have no business on." Krantz gestures out of the window as he says it, and another barrage is launched from the orbiting ship at the planet.

"." BARZA sputters it just barely, but Justitia understands it enough.

Walking up to the window, she points her scales at the planet. For a moment everyone looks on in confusion as Justitia seems to blindly follow the commands of a talking pillar. As her scales are aimed at the planet, it almost seems as if the very air vibrates for a moment.

[You judge [The Forgotten Planet] using the scales! It is found guilty of 1 count of obstructing an official investigation!]

The magic in the air grows noticeably erratic, and every magic sensitive present braces against the table.

[A facade has been broken! [The Forgotten Planet] reveals itself to be [Earth, The Cruel Mother Gaia]!]

The entire table falls into uproar as the news hits them, the merchants grow even angrier at their more aggressive counterparts, while the locals all begin to discuss with each other.

"BARZA sir! Do you have historical records?!"

"This planet is of [Epic] rank, and you used enchantments that are too destructive for such a valuable world!"

"How dare the natives hide such information from us? This only proves that they deserve to be purged!"

Fighting begins to break out between the officials, and every punch thrown is responded to by the offender disappearing from the pocket dimension, Justitia merely looks in awe as so many horrible people dismantle themselves. Greed and wrath, pride and envy. All those emotions flare from the more active ones, before disappearing rapidly as the talks break down. All that's eventually left are a few low-lying merchants, and a heap of locals surrounding BARZA asking questions about their forgotten past. BARZA managing their questions... with some difficulty.

Justitia can't help but wonder if she did the right thing, today was meant to be a first step to peace, but instead it only cemented that everyone on this planet would die before peace would arrive.
