It has been 4 hours since I woke up and 2 hours since I started farming the shrooms. After Shade gave me the quest to get 50 shrooms for him the room door vanished and Shade told me that he separated this room from the rest of the dungeon so I could farm in peace.
Once I had gathered the newest batch of shrooms I planted them all over the room, on the walls and floor and each was spaced a good bit away from each other. After I recovered my mana I infused 5 mushrooms out of the 8 I had planted since that was all I could so at the moment, I decided it would be best if I start farming the shrooms for my self for now since each can give me 50 max mana.
I took the 5 mana shrooms that split from the ones planted and consumed them all to increase my mana pool by 250. I started to meditate and once I had just over 500 mana I repeated consuming them. Then I waited to recover all of my mana while meditating. After I waited just over 40 minutes meditating I gained a rank up and infused the 8 mushrooms I had and spread 7 of them around the room, putting the last in my inventory.
I started to repeat the mana infusion on 10 shrooms, while meditating I couldn’t help but get frustrated as I realised that I barely know what my stats mean. I had a quick look at info about them before but I simply didn’t look at them closely. I looked at my stats screen and used observe on the STR stat gaining a rank up. The info about the stats was just like the games I use to play back on Earth, but since I didn’t normally play RPG games it dawned on me that a couple of them aren’t normal. STR,VIT and AGI are basically the same as normal RPG’s. STR increases how strong you are and gives a little boost to your defence, VIT increases how strong your defence is, bolsters your health a little and affects your energy. That seems to be why Shade said he was surprised I stayed awake as long as I did with low VIT, the more energy you have the longer you can stay awake and active. AGI affects how fast you move and seems to affect your accuracy a little, since theres no DEX stat I'm not surprised.
On the other hand INT and WIS seem to work like the shooter games I played that has stats. INT affects how fast you can think as well as your learning rate it also affects how strong you mana is, it also affects reaction time and your accuracy which is weird. WIS on the other hand affects the way you think as well as the way you can use mana, it also affects mental strain since every spell puts progressive mental strain on the caster. WIS also seems to affect your sense of mana making it easier to sense others or hide your own. Neither INT or WIS seem to affect your mana aside from the potence of skills. LUC was the same as other places aside from its weird description that alone made me think it's something more important.
As my mana recovered I started to eat the shrooms for more mana increasing my limit by another 500. Then I repeated the infusion and split another 15 shrooms putting them in my inventory since I want to try something later.
Instead of focusing on meditation to recover mana I decided to study the remaining of my stats and skills. I didn’t find out much in the hour I spent searching my stats and skills other than finding something interesting about Advance of the Drudge. It turns out that the reduced damage I gain from this skill stacks with any of my other resistances, basically if I would take 100 damage from an attack with no defence it would be reduced to 90 instead. On the other hand if I have a natural resistance to the type of attack that removes 10 damage taking it down to 90, Advance of the Drudge would remove 10& from the new damage making it 81 instead of the initial 100. Truly a great skill.
Affinities on the other hand are interesting on there own right, each reduces respective damage from attacks based on their value. For example if I have a fire affinity of 50 and get attacked by 2 fire attacks one the deals 100 and one that deals 200. The first would be reduced to 50 while the second down to 150. When it comes to attacks on the other hand it's different, the higher the affinity is the less mana is needed for the same level of fire, 5 affinity and 10 mana would have flames as strong as 50 affinity and 1 mana.
I wanted to also learn how to manipulate mana with affinities and since I only have wind, light and dark affinities I started to try and use wind since it was my strongest affinity. Almost immediately I got it only to realise I was only using my mana to push the air. I keep trying but couldn’t seem to do it. As my mana maxed out after 10 more minutes of waiting I infused the 15 mushrooms gaining 15 more. I took out the 15 I stored earlier and at all 30 gaining 1500 max mana.
I looked at my stats and was saddened because my health was so small compared to my mana. As I was looking over my stats again I noticed that I had 1699 AEXP, I should probably use. Out of curiousity I tried to use the AEXP on my affinity's it didn’t work on any of the affinities with 0 and when I tried wind a window appears stating I don’t have enough AEXP. when I tried light and dark though I got a window saying it would cost me 500 AEXP. I decided to pass.
I decided to increase VIT so I could have more energy and stay awake longer, it cost me 1100 AEXP I also remembered to try and improve my Health since I've been improving my mana so much. When I tried to improve the health it said it would cost me 100 AEXP per 10 Health I put 300 AEXP into health just so I have a solid 200. As I was looking at my AEXP, I really wish I could hit myself. I just realised that could have gained 1 INT and learned the skill book. I started hitting myself against the wall moaning out loud cause of my stupidity.
Shade asked me what's wrong, and laughed when I told him I'm an idiot.
Recovering from my own stupidity it seems the world was mocking me when a window popped up but hey it help the issue my stupidity made for me.
Stat Gain By realising your mistakes you have been awarded: 1 Int point, 2 LUC points
I really don’t like how this world is…
I really don’t like the fact my own stupidity benefited me more than doing the smart thing.
I pulled out the skill book and learned it feeling like the world was piting me I couldn’t get exited. When the skill window popped up suddenly I knew how to create and manipulate elements I even know I was trying to do something similar earlier but was unable to get the element from the mana.
Elemental Manipulation Beginner 1
This skill gifts the user knowledge on how to change mana into an element that they have an affinity for, while also bestowing the knowledge of how to manipulate each element. This skill is more effective with higher affinities and can gain most affinity when using an element occasionally.
Mana cost varies.
Skills can be created through use.
I was happy I know knew how to manipulate my elements and it was, for lack of a better word awesome. I Meditated for 30 minutes to get enough mana to infuse the shrooms again. As soon as I got the new 15 I thought about using them to increase my limit again. I decided to consume 10 and plant the other 5 on the ceiling. I went back to meditation, and waited 50 minutes to max my mana. It’s a good thing my meditation adds 1% to my recovery rate when in use, I found that out when observe leveled up. I board my mana into all 20 mushrooms in the room and when they split I put all 10 into my inventory and absorbed the rest then I poured the remaining of my mana into the mushrooms on the walls, ceiling and floor gaining another 20.

After I collected all 20 shrooms I moved to the part of the room which I'd deliberately left bare just so I could rest on the floor. I put 19 of the mushrooms in my inventory and placed one on the floor where I'd meditate and rest. I meditated for 10 minutes just so I'd have enough mana. I was going to try something with my elemental manipulation, I started by releasing 100 mana into the air and concentrating on it with the intent of changing it to wind element, after wasting several hundred mana I finally got the feeling of it just right and my mana became the element wind it wa cool. I then started to try and infuse the wing mana into the mana shroom and it took all 100 points of mana like usual but it wasn’t enough.
I tried again and again and when I had poured 500 wind mana into the shroom its color shifted from a steady and familiar luminescent blue to a near see-through greenish, yellow. When I looked closer I could see that the pattern that was slightly visible on its head was slowly rotating. I used observe on it and was stunned, not only because of the item itself but as I opened it another window showed up at the same time.
Wind Shroom This shroom type was created when a newly born Wisp wanted to experiment on mana shrooms it was farming. After infusing several hundred wind attribute mana into a mana shroom. It was completely changed to a new species of magic mushroom not found on Ohmaze or any other connected world.
This shroom has a close connection with the wind element. There is no known use for this mushroom yet.
AEXP: 100-150
Congradulations For being the first creature in Ohmaze to create a new type of magic plant you have earned a new Title: Magic Melder
Stat Gain For being the first of your species to ever craft anything as well as for creating a new type of magic plant you have gained: STR+3,VIT+3,AGI+3,INT+3,WIS+3,LUC+3
Holy shit that's a lot to gain! I thought that something like this would exist in this world, guess not. Not only did I gain a lot of stats but a new title. To think something so simple would give me so much. I immediately put the wind shroom in my inventory. I was feeling excited I even gained as much VIT a most creatures start with according to Shade when I ask him during my boredom while farming.
I decided to use observe on my title to see what it does if it does anything. When I opened my status and looked at the titles I noticed right away that the title I gained when I called myself Darkness is gone. I started to wonder why and a window popped up saying that as the title does nothing it will not appear on the status screen. I realised that if I look for it, the title would appear but if not it would vanish. Weird but cool. When I used observe I used it on both my active titles since I don’t know what either do.
Title: Foreign Soul Due to being a reincarnated soul from a world without magic, your soul has became stronger than normal against anything that directly affects the soul. Most forms of soul magic would not even be noticed by you unless they would hurt you. It's harder to get information about you with magic.
Title: Magic Melder This title makes it easier to learn new forms of magic as well as blend them together better than most. It would still be hard but you’d find it easier than most.
Wow both of these titles are different from what I expected, well Magic Melder is somewhat the same I just thought it would make fusing magic easier not learning magic easier. What surprised me though was that foreign soul had such good protective benefits. I didn't even think that soul magic could be real I really shouldn’t be surprised at this point. I decided to farm as much of these wind shroom since I might be able to create something new. I even tried to do the same thing with light and dark affinity but it turns out light shroom is a common ingredient used for healing potions. Dark shrooms on the other hand had a similar description to my wind shroom, except instead of a wisp it said a ‘Wild Rabbit’ created it. It was also harder for me to make the light and dark mushrooms since I have low affinity at the moment, each cost me 500 mana but I had to concentrate a lot harder that the wind shroom and slowly infuse the mana. Although doing this was hard it cause my infusion to increase in level.
I’d have tried the other elements but I don't have any. I decided to see if I could gain affinity from the wind shroom. When I started to eat the mushroom it took a lot more effort than I thought it would take. I had to use me entropic mist at full tilt just to get through one wind shroom in 10 minutes. It took way too long and cost me just under 1500 mana to eat it. On the bright side it did give me a trade for all of its AEXP for 1 wind affinity, which I took.
I asked shade how long it's been since I got up cause I was tired. I thought I'd only been up for about 8 or 9 hour but it turns out I've been up for 15 hours, jeez I must have been having fun farming these shrooms. I feel really accomplished today, I mean I did gain 10 times the mana I had yesterday, a couple of skills and a lot of stats from simply messing around with mana shrooms all day. If you don't think that as impressive I don’t know what. Especially when you consider I have no hands.
Now that I think about it I’ve been to lucky. Crap that means something terrible is going to happen tomorrow.
Stat Gain For predicting a terrible event will happen in your future with complete certainty you have gained: WIS+1,LUC+2 and my condolences
