Arc 2: Chapter 1: Gob Village

Arc 2: Chapter 1: Gob Village

The goblins stunned by my new form froze as I smiled at them. I was about to speak when the smart goblin started to laugh, reining in his chortles the man started to talk calmly with a grin plastered on his wrinkled face.

(Smart Goblin): “This is fantastic, thank you for shutting that idiot up for good. You said you’re looking for a place to stay? Then stay as long as you like, it’s not like we could stop you.”

(Dark): “I didn’t expect you to act like that? Why the sudden permission?”

(Smart Goblin): “If you wanted you’d take the village, even as exhausted as you are from the evolution you just went through. I may be the leader of this village but I'm not stupid enough to fight an unwinnable battle, or miss an opportunity.”

At this point the goblins that have been watching simple started to go on about there lives as if I wasn’t even here. Even though they are still watching me and my creation they don’t seem as distressed as earlier. Strange but not my problem. The leader noticed my gaze and started to speak up.

(Rou): “My name is Rou and my fellow gobs are going back to their business since even they recognise that it's futile to fight you or my decisions.”

(Dark): “My name is Darkness, please call me Dark. Now, what opportunity were you referring to?.”

Staring at him I noticed that my sight caused him to jump a little. The smile on his face seemed to grow as he started speaking again.

(Rou): “I was wondering if you’d be willing to teach my goblins how to survive and become strong.”

A window appeared to me saying I could have a quest to teach the goblins to become stronger for the next couple of days. I immediately gave a response which surprised the little goblin.

(Dark): “No I will not teach you goblins how to become stronger, but I might put you in situations where you’ll be forced to become stronger.”

Before the leader could ask what I was meaning, I summoned a level 5 skeleton and made it start attacking him. As the skeleton and goblin leader started to attack each other and cause each other wounds, the other goblins started running about and grabbed lots of weapons. Before they even got close to the fight, me or my group I summoned 12 greater skeletons at level 15 and blocked their paths.

None of the other goblins attacks got past a single greater skeleton and none of the greater skeletons fought back as I turned my attention back to the leader fighting the skeleton. The leader fought his hardest but was covered in his own blood from head to toe, holding a severed arm as weapon. The skeleton was clearly winning as it only had some broken ribs. I watched as the skeleton was about to land a lethal blow only for the skeleton to be decapitated with a wild swing from the leader. Before he could turn to me I cast a couple dozen healing bolts on him and corroding bolts on his severed arm. He stopped as he noticed that the arm he was holding turned to dust while a new arm grew from his stump. He paused alongside all of the other goblins that stopped attacking the greater skeletons. A mere moment passed and he started to laugh.

(Rou): “So that’s what you meant, Dark please don’t do that again at least not without telling me.”

(Dark): “Sure just don’t expect me to make things easy for you.”

I talked with Rou for quite a lot of time and learned that his village is called Gob village and was frequently attacked by humans and elves. Even though they are frequently attacked by the humans and elves, they don’t retaliate since they are only used to train the weaker trainees. This is why he asked for me to train them. I read about it from the quest I was given and rejected before I started to ‘teach’ them. I rejected the quest since completing it would lower my standing with civilized societies and the rewards weren't all that good.

After talking with him for a bit more he told me that evolution can happen at any time outside of battle and that as long as I'm not under direct threat in some sense it won’t be called battle. Evolution comes with many benefits that tend to be a small increase of stats and new growth rates I was also told that some evolutions have a price to pay which is normally a set number of stat points, this is why Ogres are dumber that Hobgoblins supposedly. When I looked at my stats I found out that I gained a flat out 100 stat points for each stat but I didn’t gain any increase Health and Mana, which I assume is my cost.

Rune, Falz and Vari were given a place to rest as well as me, nothing productive happened the rest of the day other than me examining my body more closely when I was alone. Let's get the obvious thing out of the way first. I've been female since I reincarnated but I haven’t had a body so it didn’t affect me in anyway. Now on the other hand I feel so exposed that although I know I'm female I feel extreamly both comfortable and uncomfortable. When I examined myself I had all of the functioning a parts of a full woman that it wa a little distracting, thankfully I learned that I can alter my form slightly and found I could create attached fleshy clothing. Covering my breasts and vagina in baggy flesh cloths was uncomfortable since I can still feel them, so instead I made a skin tight onesie that covered everything from my neck down to my toes, only having my hands free. The onesie was moulded around me so it looks like it’s my actual form, which it kind of is. I also found that I could move and control my wings as well as change their size and shape by half or twice they already sizable initial state. My flame like hair could be as short as shoulder length or long enough to reach my ankles and just like my wings and flesh cloths I can manipulate it at will.

Later that day I told Rou that as soon as both of us are up in the morning I'll train his village, to which he was both ecstatic and smiling about. Me Falz and Vari went and slept in the house that Rou set aside from us, the original resident was dead and Rou didn’t care as long as I was either helping or leaving in the morning. Rune on the other hand decided to stay up all night and practice his techniques around the town.

Waking early I let Falz,Vari and Rune do as they please and decided to wake up all the goblins, when I left the house I was surprised to see that most goblins were already up. When I grabbed one of them and asked why are they up early, the panicked goblin punched me out of fear, apologised and said that goblins only need a few hours sleep each day. I found Rou walking towards me with a small band of goblins following behind carrying the corpse of the one I killed the other day. When I asked what they were doing they said that they were going to throw the corpse in the forest since they didn’t know what else to do. That an none of them really cared for him. I asked for his corpse before we start training to which Rou smiled and ordered the others drop the body and leave. They didn’t even need a second to be leaving.

Rou asked me what I was going to use the body for, and when I said an experiment he didn’t quite know what was meant since it didn’t translate to Gob. Moving the body to a secluded section of the village smiling I moved Rou back just incase it might hurt him and asked him to prevent anyone from getting to close. I put the body down and thought about it for a few seconds feeling a bit giddy of what I might be able to do.

Moving my right hand over the corpse I start using Eidolons Craft and start infusing dozens of Mushmen since they are the closest to my goal. My goal is simple be able to create life. As I infused Mushman after Mushman the body began to twitch and the body started to alter its shape and get up. A minute passed during this time and as the body stood it looked different from what I was hoping for and it certainly wasn't what I was wanting to make however the monster was pretty good. That wasn’t all though, I got a notification as I observed it.

Mush-Goblin lv 1An experiment to create life from a corpse lead to the creation of this monster. This monster is a nier perfect fusion of an undead and plantlife created by accident. The Mush-goblin is  a creature that has the benefits and abilities of both Mushmen and goblin, as a result this creature is as fast as a goblin and as strong as a Mushman. Due to the creators nature this creature is an intelligent and wise creature with a larger than average health, stamina and mana regeneration.

CongratulationsBy being the eleventh creature to create a new monster in the world of Ohmaze you have been given a title.

Title: Mush-Goblin Creator

Title: Mush-Goblin CreatorThe creatures known as mush goblins will spawn in the world of Ohmaze and any you encounter with be friendly and helpful regardless of circumstance.

I was pleased with my creation but upset that it didn’t count as creating life. Instead of dwelling on it I had a closer look at the newly born monster. About 4ft tall and a dark, but bright blue which is almost luminescent covering its form without a single speck of normal flesh in sight. The arms are slightly longer than a normal goblins and its legs a little shorter making it look a little odd. Its body is the same if a little muclely compared the the previous corpse. The facial features are no longer there, which has left the beast with a curved face with pointed head spiking out like a spear of overgrown moss. His eyes are black semi-protruding from his face, there is no nose and the mouth is a thin slit curving from ear to ear. His hands and feet have spike like claws protruding from the only variation of blue on its whole body and the base of the hands and feats knuckles. All an all I'd have to say I'm more than glad that I tried to do this, this has potential in other aspects as well...

Rou and the other goblins that started to gather round looked a bit shocked and when I told them I just created a new type of monster half stood shocked still but the rest went back to their daily lives. Truly an odd mentality these goblins have.

As most of the goblins had left leaving only Rou and a few curious ones, I decided to try talking with my new minion while testing it. I spent 20 minutes testing how strong and fast it was ad was surprised since it was a lot faster than the Mush-men I can create along with how it’s a little stronger. The monster smashed through a tree like it was just in the way, but I noticed that its arm was shattered on impact. Forcing it to rest, observing the yellow blood leak into the ground it was clear that it was healing faster that both goblins and Mush-men. The chunks of vicira that was its forearm lay on the ground, seemingly dissolving almost as fast as the new arm grew. After 10 minutes the arm was fully healed, while the old arm was turned to mulch just a little slower. For a level 1 monster it's rather absurd, like I'm one to talk. It was pleasing to know that any of these monsters will be 100% loyal to me.

I tested to see if the creature could talk shortly after the physical tests only for it to start moving its hands in strange ways while grunting at different pitches. I immediately noticed that it had a language and started to imitate it for a moment, stunning Rou a little more as I burst out laughing. The reason I was laughing was that it was indeed a language but I got a notification as soon as I learned it and couldn’t belive its name.

Language Learned-- Gob-Stopper

I simple didn’t expect that and in my joy I decided to Call him Gruff since that's what his grunts sound like. After my slightly unreasonable laughing fight I noticed that Falz, Rune and Vari had gathered round, standing next to some slightly panicked goblins.

Turning to Rou I told him I'll start training the goblins now and that they should all participate as long as they can fight. He sent the goblins nearby too get all the goblins that want to get stronger and aren't children or injured and asked if I was going to be as harsh as I was yesterday old to start freaking out a little when he saw my eyes.

5 minutes later 53 goblins showed up holding weapons and looked ready to fight, the rest of the goblins where pregnant women and children all 24 of them. The look on their faces was priceless when I told them to go and put their weapons back was quite the sight. When they returned after another 5 minutes there was only 47. I asked Rou to bring back the 6 that left and when he brought them back all I could do was smile. I told them all that I'd be setting the to fight against a level 8 skeleton each and would be constantly protected and healed by 2 skeletal mages. Except for the 6 that tried to leave, they’re getting a treat. I summoned a few Lichies to replace destroyed skeletons before I moved on to the more unfortunate skeletons.

I summoned the groups of skeletons to fight the goblins and set them training, I then turned my attention the the attempted deserters. I think I'm enjoying this to much cause I was ecstatic about their faces as I pulled Abyssal Whisper from my inventory. Summoning 10 level 15 Lesser liches my smile was even greater cause the liches started summoning level 3 skeletons stunning the group of 6. I told them to either fight me as a group or the 10 liches and their summons. They were smarter than I though cause every one of them turned to fight the litches. I summoned 12 skeletal mages to keep the goblins alive and left the to their training.

I was about to walk away and test Abyssal Whisper when a thought occured. I summoned the highest level of Lich I could several times and gathered Falz, Rune and Vari I told them that they have to defeat the lichies creations until I come back. When I told them that they had to use their weakest attacks and skills they thought I was joking until I summoned 7 Mush-goblins and told them to come get me if they don’t listen to me. As I was walking away I told Gruff to follow that order as well before I left to go deeper into the forest.

Once I was unable to hear the noise of the training I stopped and summoned 30 Liches and ordered them to attack me with summons constantly. I was wanting to try something and even if I was wrong this would help me learn how to use my blade. Still gripping the ever twisting handle the first summons were created and started to attack me. The lich's were summoning level 15 greater skeletons to attack me, swinging my blade wildly it was easy to take down the first one but the skeletons weren’t stupid even if they looked it. Once the first was gone they started to move around me and attack from different angles. As more where getting created as this was happening, I was busy attacking the greater skeletons abut noticed they started to dodge better. I knew my attacks were wild and didn’t amount to much since it was my first time using a weapon. I carefully started to switch the way I was fighting leading to steady improvements and before the 8th skeleton fell a notification popped into existence.

Weapon Mastery Beginner Level 1The use and capabilities are better with the more forms of weapons you use. Mastering a type of weapon still leaves room for improvement if you use different types and can make a master swordsman's nothing but pray to those that use anything as a weapon masterfully.

I was too busy fighting the small horse of greater skeletons to pay attention to what it said but the sudden improvement with my sword was somewhat noticeable. I spent 5 hours fighting the skeletons with consistent improvements in the way I used my sword, it got to the point that I haven’t lost a single swing of momentum for the last 20 minutes and have destroyed at least one skeleton every 2 seconds. I've also noticed that abyssal whisper has become longer than when I started to use it by about the handles length, not only that but the blade now has slightly glowing black specks near the handle to halfway up the blade. Deciding to finish the fight and hope for the best with the others. Swinging Abyssal Whisper in a circular arc I used Flash Blade and was amazed at how it cut down everything except for the Lichies 10 meters behind them. I finished them with a quick test of channeling spells though my sword only to be shocked at the power of a simple Mana Bolt as it completely destroyed each Lich. I was surprised and elated with what happened after that though since my idea was right then.

I was happy to be able to upgrade my stats again and this time though, I selected INT in a heartbeat. I wa most excited about what this meant though, simply put I could consistently level up like I did today since I'm able to almost infinitely create monsters to fight against. I smiled collecting all the bones then got on my way back to Gob-Village and as I returned everyone was still fighting the skeletons, aside from Falz, Rune and Vari everyone looks like they are about to collapse from exhaustion with the only reason they're awake is due to the danger and constant heals. When I walked out of the forest  sent a few targeted Arcane Pulse that destroyed all of the monsters aside from the goblins, Falz, Rune, Vari and the Mush-Goblins. Every goblin collapsed where they stood except for Rou and a rather large goblin, although both look like they should have. They fell asleep standing shortly after that though. I looked at all the levels of the goblins and was pleased that they are all in the double digits now. Falz, Rune and Vari have leveled a good few times as well, they are level 29,31 and 30 respectively. Gruff didn’t level since I didn’t let him fight.

I let the goblins rest where they stood and ordered Gruff and his brethren to protect them. I went to the house that Rou lent us and started doing something I thought would help. Crafting. In the forest, while I was leaving and returning I picked up a few things that I found interesting several of them where plants with medicinal properties. I only found 4 that had their own names: Bloated Saint Herb, Health Reeds, Snap root, Angel Tear Leaf. I also found some assorted medical herbs but none of them had names and where various in quality.

I started to make some rudimentary potions to heal the village and recover faster. I took some of my assorted herbs and cut them apart before putting them in a rough copper pot with some water. I used some fire magic to boil and some water magic to stir the contents as I casually help the boiling pot. I watched as the leaves in the pot started to exude a mix of yellow, green, red and deep red oils into the water. I mixed it more and watched as a slightly luminescent red potion was brewed. I set the pot on the ground and grabbed a glass and sieve from the goblins kitchen which was used to filter the potion from all the leaves. I looked at the potion and was glad when a pop up informed me that I created a small healing potion. Shame I didn’t get a crafting skill though.

Amalgam Healing potionA rare form of healing potion with varied results. This type of potion is rare because is unreliable to heal the consumers wounds but has a chance to be a full heal.

AEXP: 200-300

Mana: 200

I put the potion in my inventory and started to test how my craft inventory would work and was really underwhelmed at the result as it sucked up 20,000 mana in a single moment only to leave me with a potion sitting in front of me. The Potion in front of me was in a small erlenmeyer flask with a cork sealing it. This was interesting since the original was stored in a pint glass rather than a typical potion flask not to mention it didn’t have a cork or anything stopping it from spilling. I also realised that  even though I have absurd mana I simply can’t crank these out.

Thinking that I'd need to become even more absurd I decided to start farming more mana shrooms. Instead of me doing it myself though I summoned a lich  and 20 skeletal mages, and sent them to the build a suitable place to farm mana shrooms. I watched them leave in the direction of the clearing I trained at in the forest. I'd have to wait until they build it so for the time being I used craft inventory constantly to make more potions while looking around the village only to find a mine right here. I was tempted to make it into a mana shroom farm but restrained myself since there was clearly crude mining tools strewn about the entrance to the mine. I checked up on everyone before realising I had created just shy of 200 potions.

Today was a productive day in a lot of ways but I think aside from the mana shroom farm I won’t do much of anything. I spent 3 of the remaining hours talking with Falz and Rou when he woke up. Like every goblin that woke up before him he was still in pain. I gave him a potion and unlike the last 20 goblins he was unlucky and only got a minor heal, so I gave him a second which fully healed him. I collected every used flask as well since they’ll be useful later. I left the village to go check on the Lich and the mage skeletons and found that they had built a small underground complex just before the clearing. When I went down I was surprised that there was solid cement walls covering the place, it was even more impressive that it reached down 50 meters before the first room. They somehow built a massive complex it just looked small from the way the entrance was. There was only one floor but it was massive and separated into 30 rather large rooms, each room have 5 layers of protruding shelves supported with intermittent poles holding them up. The only thing missing was the lich and the mage skeletons I had sent. I looked around some more and found a second set of stair cases leading down another 50 with another 30 rooms. I found the lich commanding 20 skeletons helping the 20 mage skeletons set up the last room with the same set up. Once they were finished they finally noticed me. I told them that that was enough for now and that they should start farming the mana shrooms in turn I gave them over 200 mana shrooms and taught the mage skeletons how to infuse mana alongside the lich. Inturn the lich started to create more mage skeletons which surprised me slightly, it made me wonder if my creations have the same perks as me. It would explain how it can create mage skeletons since it saw me do so. I was about to leave when I decided to summon a few more lichies and ordered them to follow the original. I told them to fill up the whole complex with mana shrooms and once it's complete to store the excess for me while splitting more. How they will do that is up to them but it’s not like I don’t have a few ideas.

I returned to the village and found that everyone had gone to bed aside from Rune, Falz, Vari and Gruff. I talked with them for a bit and then went to bed shortly after checking my stats.
