Chapter 62: Inspiration Fighters

Machia Veil Timeline

Late evening, September 8th – Bellatorn Estate, Denewood, Surridge

Archs had Nate, and the initiates surrounded. A freeze must have taken place.

“Ouch,” said Jessamyn.

They executed a speedy Charax code. The powerful expulsion code sent the Archs flying across the courtyard.

“Amazing! Well done!” said a RayCrest. “But one slip-up and they’ll surround us again.”

“Then, we’ll do a Charax again!” said Astrea.

“The acrobatic Charax takes a physical toll. You need all your strength,” said the RayCrest.

“I’ll get help!” called Nate as he ran towards the manor. He sensed Ethriel and Cairis were close.

Nate ran towards the parterre when two men exploded out of Aunt Matea’s ground-floor window in the east wing.

“Woah!” he stepped backwards.

Their faces flushed with exertion. A man in beige clothes held the Arch with a firm grip on his collar. He struck him and the Arch stumbled, but regained his balance, striking the man’s head. The man aimed to hit back, but he stumbled off balance.

Nate made his Oran Sacramenta of Fealty, and the whirling dervish circles until time stopped.

“Hey, help me over here!” he called out to other RayCrests close by. “Let’s do a Markarian. It will last longer.”

The group synchronised their movements and danced until the Arch froze for minutes. Using this time, the man in beige coded a shield for himself, which he would use to conquer the Arch.

“Thank you,” he said.

“Where are you from? asked Nate.

“Inspiration. We are the reinforcements,” said the man.

Inspiration! That is why they used physical force.

Nate continued to the parterre, cowering from the excess of coal and cleaning the dark smudges from his face. The excess of coal blinded him, and he headed into the manor with a blurry vision when an Arch tried to code him into a portal. Then, the same fighter from Inspiration delivered a high kick that sent the Arch flying through the window.

“Thank you!” said Nate.

“Here, use the wet towel to clear your eyesight,” said the Inspiration fighter.

“Saviour!” Nate said, clearing his eyesight and rushing back outside. It wasn’t long before he spotted Ethriel and Cairis.

“Ethriel! Thank goodness,” Nate exclaimed.

“We need to find your mother,” Ethriel urged.

“I know, but she’s afraid to come to the manor,” said Nate.
