The Quotidian Timeline
Afternoon, September 4th – Bellaton Estate, Dene, Surrey
Finch Kinshot reached the depths of the forests surrounding Bellaton. There, he found a safe haven, but his knees gave way. He dreaded being found by the hospital staff. He wilted under a tree, blinking back tears of desperation.
The familiar rolling hills were a comfort to him. Thankful for his life of privilege and the love of his family. Beloved mother. He imagined eating Mrs Pratt’s orange marmalade again and her scrumptious scrambled eggs and salmon. The silver cutlery, cool to the touch, clinked against the plate. His fresh soft India cotton sheets; the warmth, perfect temperature; the high oxygen in the manor; the family gatherings, even if they often ended in arguments. He never gave a second thought to the things he had. The simplicity of it all was staggering. All he wanted now was his parents’ love, protection, water, and bread.
