Cairis’ legion of RayCrests continued their guard at the Loch Lorian some frequencies away.
Cairis, the androgynous RayCrest Nate and Kenya saw in the Remembrance building. She was an Arcuan. Part of Nate’s Arcuan family, and Ethriel’s LitSpear sister. An ancient soul that advanced in consciousness. Honing her skills, until she became a powerful unifier of people in Quotidian. Her consciousness advanced into the Veil of Inspiration and became a senior RayCrest herself, just like her brother Ethriel. Now she led the first legion into the Loch Lorian battle.

Every time Ellis and Darcy quoted the Lady of the Loch’s Oran Sacramenta of Fealty, Cairis and her legion transformed into their ethereal bodies. Arms circling the air. A tai chi like ballet made up of Aurial codes forming beats of movements and Templar fealty codes that were older than time itself. Cairis held her hands together, as if embracing King Arthur’s blade, and then drove it into the ground. This was an oath of fealty to the powers that be. They relied on this precious Aurial code to access the mysteries of the universe, a necessary step before transforming the fabric of reality.

The Archs attempted to cross the portal multiple times and were almost successful, yet the consistent ritual prohibited them from going beyond that point. The Lady of the Loch emanated a bright light that soon dulled and faded away.

Cairis and her legion of RayCrests had no time to rest. They broke the Archs’ attempts at a steady pace. The Arcuan lights flickered around them. So small they resembled chaotic spots of light. Red clouds gathered at the gate.
“The Arcuans,” said a RayCrest. “They are mere fireflies. We need reinforcements.”
Cairis agreed, and a RayCrest departed towards the City of Grace.
They observed Ellis and the SBU team as they combined the solstice codes with chanting the Oran on the boat, and it lit up for much longer than expected. But it still dimmed after a few seconds.
