Ch. 37 Dumb Plan Better than No Plan

Back on the bloody battlefield, Seth and the Nightwalker were staring each other down. There was just one problem: ‘Bastard’s so tall I can’t even see his eyes.’

The pixie knew the moment he moved would be the start of the battle. And, although he felt much stronger than the last time he was awake, this fellow was almost as strong as Yuki.

“Scared, little man?”

Seth responded with an uppercut to the jaw. However, the Nightwalker stepped back, twisted his neck and slapped the pixie with one of his horns. Seth went flying. Alastar caught him in midair.

“Fancy meeting you here." The mage immediately used blink to move the two of them towards Chloe.

“What are you doing?” asked the pixie.

“Leaving.”

“No.”

The princess was being pummeled by Nijaz's six arms. Alatar grabbed her and teleported away before her armor was smashed completely.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Leaving!”

“No!”

“What the hell is wrong with you two?” It wasn’t enough that the commanders were chasing after them, but Alastar had to deal with dumb and dumber too.

“It’s no fun to run,” Chloe complained. “We can figure something out.”

“What she said,” added Seth.

“Great. Then, when you have a plan, I’ll gladly listen to it. In the meantime…”

The wraith appeared in front of them creating a giant wall of flames that not even his blink spell could pass through.

“Thought you’re the only one with spatial magic?” the creature scoffed.

Suddenly, the ground shook and an army of zombie worms rose from the ground. Their boss was a creature larger than a bus with no eyes or limbs, but with a mouth more than big enough to compensate.

“Any plans yet?” cried Alastar.

Seth jumped towards the wraith and punched her in the face. The wall of flames broke down, but before the three could escape, another army made of zombies rose in front of their path. Their leader looked like a normal bloke except for a pale face, fancy suit and level near 400.

“Chloe, summon the other Seth,” said Alastar.

“What’s that going to do,” she shrugged. There were monsters and army commanders surrounding them from every direction. “Sorry, but this is where we part.” The girl gave them a final wave and took a step towards the Nightwalker.

“I am Chloe Blythe, first princess of the Terian Kingdom! Lord Nightwalker, I surrender to your custody.”

The general looked her up and down. He then sent mana into one of his nails and placed it near his ear.

“My Lord, the Terian Princess is here.”

“Is she hot?” asked the voice at the other end.

“Not particularly, no.” As far as the Nightwalker was concerned, all humans were ugly as dirt.

“Then, do with her as you please. Oh, and her mother will be paying us a visit. Deal with her army and bring her to me.”

“Yes, Sir.”

The light went out of the general’s nail but nowhere near as fast as the color from Chloe’s face.

“Seth dear, what’s the plan?” she asked.

“Fight.”

“Alastar?”

“Pray for a swift death?" There were three of them against more than 4.000 soldiers, five commanders, and their general.

“This farce is over!” the Nightwalker declared. “Capture them alive and bring them to my ship…”

The general paused. He felt a powerful pressence emanating from above. Since the sky was covered by clouds wherever he went, the Nightwalker hadn’t noticed the thousands of tiny red dots that were flying above the battlefield.

Suddenly, a powerful smash was heard from one of his vessels. Flames burst out of the other. The devils were invading.

“The rebellion starts now!” shouted Seth.

“They’re with you?”

"Maybe."

Suddenly, the sound of steps and hooves began resounding louder and louder. Beyond the horizon in the east, the undead resistance army was marching towards them.

“Those are definitely with us,” grinned the pixie.

“Sir,” Nijaz called out.

“Deal with the undead. I’ll handle the ships and the rest can capture these three.”

“But, Sir,” the lich insisted. “What do we do about the army from the west?”

“Huh?” all the commanders and even Seth and the others turned towards their right. In the not so far distance, one teleporting array after another was bringing human soldiers and mages onto the battlefield. In front of them was a blond turd on a horse and the most beautiful woman Seth had ever seen.

“Seth,” said Alastar. “What’s the plan?”

“We fight,” grinned the pixie before getting in the Nightwalker’s face. A battle royale on a whole new scale was about to commence. Seth and his vassals were stuck in the middle.

"Alastar?" the princess looked at him for a solution. However, such a thing did not exist.

"You heard him," the mage sighed before putting on his serial killer face. "Let's fight."
