Ch. 29 Satan's Empowering Speech

Ch. 29 Satan's Empowering Speech

In front of the hundreds of tents which made up his campsite, Seth inspected the army.

“352 inferior undead and 23 mid-rank ones have joined our cause,” Alastar reported.

“Good,” the warrior nodded. “Make them quiet.”

Before the mage could react, Chloe took a trumpet out of her bracelet and shouted “Shut the f**k up!!”

The crowd turned towards her. Not a whisper was heard.

“Good job, lieutenant,” said Seth while walking towards a disheveled half zombie half skeleton horsewoman.

“General,” she bowed deeply. “How can I assist our cause?”

“Hm,” Seth looked her up and down. “Let me use you.”

“Huh?”

Before the lady could react, the warrior jumped on her shoulders to get a better view.

“Walk to where the commanders are standing and face the crowd,” he instructed.

Though feeling like a glorified footstool, the woman complied.

“Beautiful,” smiled Seth. In front of him was a crowd of more than 2,000 zombies, skeletons, liches, and even a few death knight. Behind them, the city of Blolk was burning to the ground.

“Are you gonna inspire our troops?” asked Chloe.

“Of course,” he nodded. The six feet tall Seth straightened his back, placed hands on his hips, and spoke with confidence and conviction:

“My beloved undead… We are f**ked!”

The whole crowd gasped in unison.

“As we speak, the Nightwalker is marching over with a force 10,000 strong and the sole goal of whipping us out of existence! They outnumber and outclass us. Honestly, we don’t stand a chance.”

“So… where’s the bright side?” a skeleton asked while trying to keep his jaw from falling to the floor.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

“There is no bright side! No help is coming, and we’re absolutely screwed.” Seth’s tone was as decisive as a death sentence.

The crowd started to panic. Zombies began ripping parts of their flesh while skeletons were beating themselves up with their elbows.

“Chloe,” called Seth.

“Shut it!!” the girl shouted once more.

“Good job. I'm promoting you to colonel.” Seth smiled before turning towards the crowd. “Why are you quivering!?” he asked with a look of disgust. “Why are you afraid!?”

“Cause we’re gonna die!” someone shouted.

“But, you’re already dead!”

“Yes, but… We’ll die like… again,” the man mumbled.

“Listen,” Seth called for their attention. “I don’t like dying any more than any of you. Even if you can resurrect it sucks every time. However, just because the cards are stacked against us, it doesn’t mean we can’t win. We’re the undead, damnit! The most broken OP race to ever exist!”

“But, the enemy is also…”

“Chloe.”

The girl ran towards the zombie and smacked him upside the head.

“Excellent,” Seth nodded. “More than 500 comrades have joined us in this city alone! All we have to do is recruit some more, and this battle is ours!

We have 2000 warriors on our side, so we’ll split into 200 teams. Each group will spread our message to a different city and its surrounding area. Like a fanatical cult, we will brainwash the people. We will make them join us, and we will crush the aristocracy!”

“Hell yea!” shouted an old lich with flames in his eye sockets.

“Liches will resume their experiments on the living! Death knights will pillage and kill to their content! Our hordes will squeeze the life out of this planet make its inhabitants taste our pain!”

“YESSS!” shouted the undead.

“Are you with me!?”

“Huza!! Kill the innocents!”

Chant after chant of murderous propaganda erupted amongst the crowd. Even their posh skeleton commander was banging his head like a madman screaming murder. As for Seth’s old group, they were sweating bullets.

“Hey Alastar,” Chloe nudged him. “This Seth is properly insane.”

The mage had no choice but to agree. Even Momo’s bad luck skill gained another section. It now wrote Bad luck level 3 -1.

‘What the hell is -1?’ “Alastar, we need to snap him out of it,” he said. “Remind him of a quest or something.”

“And get killed by the Nightwalker?” While the crowd grouped up and left on their missions, the mage could only gulp down his worries. “It takes a monster to kill another one,” he decided. “At least ours can be turned off just by stopping his supply of potions.”

Suddenly, the -1 in Momo’s skill became -2. Nothing had happened except for Alastar’s decision. The squirrel desperately wanted to warn him, but how?

“Don’t worry, little guy.” Chloe bent down and ruffled his cheeks. “I’m sure this will end after we defeat the hero. It’s not like it can devolve into something crazy like a world war.”

The girl’s innocent smile sent shivers down Momo’s spine. It was because behind her, some 20 feet away, Seth’s body emitted a pitch black aura while his bloodthirsty eyes were looking straight at him.
