As each of you eat and drink, I shall continue to speak of our time upon Forge.
Now, as each of you had found out, the populace's own reigning monarch had been threatened with being forced to return to the Abyss, which was an easy feat for one such as I. However, the so called "Prince" believed it was impossible, and even managed to quiet down the metallic and crystalline hearts within his Council of Fools.
A total of five Dwarves in various wear were huddled within a small, nondescript room of a large mansion closest to the Tower of Babel and held many Mithril Guards patrolling around the grounds and within the home. Even though they had so much in the way of strength, they were still fearful about the message they each had heard a short time ago. Whose laws had been known for some time, and disregarded once the "Prince" was created in order to regain some semblance of control for the race.
"Opening a path to the Abyss takes time," began the Dwarf, of whom was created from various jewels and gold ore, "The many scholars and caster within our employ have assured us that such a thing will take years to create."
"But my Lord," called out a silver-haired dwarf, of whom was an artificer for the Jeweler's Guild, "Did you not hear the message?"
"The one with someone claiming to be a God?" At their nod, the Prince simply sighed, "From the history books that we have, the God had left to continue a journey in order to reclaim its primary world. However, that was nearly a century ago, not to mention a few months prior to my birth strange beings started showing up.
"Yes. Even though they claimed to tackle the Tower, and were given permission from our world's new God, it is still too farfetched to believe that it has returned."
After speaking such words, the door to their room slowly creaked open. Which caused their heads to slowly turn towards it, and widened their eyes as the mangled body of a Mithril Guard flew into the wall opposite the door.
The Mithril Guard, Dwarves that have been birthed from the Kiln of Life who were each sculpted from large blocks of such a material. These were one of the strongest beings in the whole of Forge, with only Adamantium and Orichalcum surpassing them in strength, durability, and resistance to magickal attacks. Now? Now one of their number was lying dead inside the wall opposite to the door with half its skull crushed by an unknown force.
"Who-?" began the Prince, just as a bellowing cry of several more of the Guard charged from somewhere outside. However, each of those came crashing through the wall nearest the door, with only a pair's heads poking through said wall. Each of these, just like the first, were lifeless.
"What the hell is going on out there?" cried out the so called Monarch of Forge.
To which a voice, low and guttural, replied with, "What indeed?" as an endarkened mist slowly entered the room. A pair of luminous, emerald orbs were seen in the centre of the mass, which slowly condensed into the body of a tall, nine-tailed dark furred Kitsune. Of whom glared down upon their persons as the world beneath their feet slowly opened up. Within the centre of the ground, was a single white coloured eye which stared at everyone and everything.
However, the Kitsune simply ignored the eye, whereas the Dwarves did not. This was a mistake, for those who stare upon the Eye of the Abyss, just as it stares upon your person, will find themselves pulled into its grasp. Too late did they realise their mistake, as shadowed hands attached to abnormally long and spine-like limbs slowly snaked around their persons. This led to them howling as the limbs dragged them to the centre of the eye, of which opened up to reveal a multitude of jagged teeth.
This, of course, meant they were to be devoured, and struggled in order to avoid such a fate. Whereas the Kitsune continued to stare at the space where they first occupied, never to watch what was occurring, but knowing what it entailed. For it was a death sentence for any being who openly stared into the Eye, which means holding such an event in public would spell doom for the whole of civilisation. Perhaps, even, the entirety of the world.
In any case, these Dwarves screamed, bellowed, and hollered as the shadowed and spiny limbs shoved their persons into the perceived mouth of the Eye. Which then clamped shut over the Dwarves just as a slimed, pink tongue snaked out and licked its invisible lips as though it had enjoyed its meal. "Ah, delicious meat," it purred, as the whole of the Eye slowly receded into nothing.

Which caused the Kitsune to sigh softly, and make a hasty exit. For just as the presence of the Eye had vanished, a cleansing flame of light and shadows sparked in its place. This was so, as a mere sliver of its energies could upset the balance of the world in visited. In that, the world could, and would, devolve into anarchy if such energies stayed without being cleansed of it entirely.
Of course, this meant that the reigning Gods and Goddesses of the land had to take part in the cleansing. For no others were able to produce the necessary flames which can remove that which will cause the world to fall apart.

"It is done, Brutus," was my only reply as I left the mansion just as the flames of shadows and light engulfed the entirety of it all. Of course, such flames do not harm the physical nature of items, objects, and beings, but of their energies. This was simply to remove the presence of the Abyss from the world, and nothing more. Though, it will leave a void of energy within the afflicted area, but that will be filled in soon enough.
"Yes, My Lord God," bowed my Lich King, but stopped himself once he noted what it was he was doing. All around him were the mangled bodies of the Mithril Guard who dared to stand against our persons, and beyond that were the many residents of Babel. Of whom grew curious as to who we were, and what we were doing.
Once it became apparent that our path was to the mansion nearest the Tower, and to the Prince, many grew bored and left. However, they soon returned the moment many of the Guard's bodies flew through the air, or were torn apart by our persons. This, too, caught the eyes of nearly everyone within the city, as they all gathered around the mansion's gates in an effort to watch our progress.
When it became apparent that I had intended to "remove" the reigning Monarch, many grew angry and hurled a multitude of items and objects in an attempt to hinder our movements. Unfortunately for them, we both had a translucent, golden shield which was capable of deflecting even a God's own wrath filled magicks. What was a few stones and iron weapons thrown at us?
Now, after I entered the mansion itself, I had left my Lich King to stand in front of the main doors. Of which he did summon a cadre of ghostly horrors to guard the other entrances, but a few of the Mithril Guard had managed to worm their way into the building before he was able to staunch the flow. This, in turn, caused a large ruckus to incur within the building itself. Mainly the crashes, and a pair were even tossed out of the second story windows, until there was only a calm which descended upon the area.
That is, until a dome of endarkened energy fell upon the whole of the building. Of which startled the populace who believed a wide variety of speculations, but before their imaginations fully took off into the skies, the dome had vanished. In its place, on the other hand, were the cleansing fires that were necessary in order to remove all traces of the Abyss and its Eye.
However, upon leaving the premise littered with the mangled bodies of the Mithril Guard, we were surrounded by the angered populace who demanded I tell them what happened to their Prince. To which I replied with, "He is dead." This, of course, shocked their persons who then demanded to know why.
"Why?" my body stopped to turn slowly in order to view each citizen of Babel who surrounded our persons, "Your so called 'Prince' disregarded one of the laws I had set upon this world so long ago. Perhaps those who have studied your world's histories know of the Wager between the King and God of the Tower, yes?" At this inquiry, many who were older than most of the crowd nodded, "Yes. Then you will know that such a wager was lost by the King of the Dwarves to this God. Of whom then rewrote the laws so that all taxes and slaveries were abolished, as well as to keep the old monarchies from ever cropping up. To do this, the God simply had them killed off, and the Kiln of Life tampered with to prevent another from assuming the role of a Prince, King, or what have you.
"So tell me," my body distended greatly until my Kitsune body fell away into endarkened mists to reveal my skeletal giant self. Of which caused the whole of the populace to gasp, whilst a few screams echoed throughout the city, "how did a 'Prince' arise from all of this, when it was deemed an impossibility?"
