"Come on, Luna," shouted a voice which seemed too distant, and yet still close by, "Oi! Are you in there?" Pain, sharp and precise, was felt upon the female's forehead. Confused, the human called Luna opened her eyes to find a scene of beauty laid out before her. For she was atop a large hill, and all about her were flowers of all shapes, sizes, and hues. Yes. It was a very beautiful seen, and yet is was marred by a scowling face within inches of her own.

The face, so full of youth and vigour, grinned wildly as its eyes noted her own were opened. "Come on," the one before her whined in a high tenor voice, as the body's owner did its best to pull her up, "You promised to take me hunting, remember?"

"Who?" She began, not at all sure what was happening, "Wha-?"

"Did you hit your head in your dreams, or something?" Luna turned towards the voice, and found a small boy-child glaring up at her with his hands on his hips. This child, of whom had bright, yellow hair which flowed around his small shoulders, as well as a childish face with a straight nose, sharp cheekbones which caused the chin to almost end in a point. His own eyes were the same colour as the sky above, a soft blue. What he wore, however, were plain clothes of slightly tanned hemp in the shape of trousers and a tunic, whilst upon his feet were a pair of battered leather, boots.

"You said you'd meet me here, and help me with some quests. You also said you'd power level me. Don't you remember?" Those eyes of his were brimming with tears, now, and looked about ready to spill over.

"Uh- Of course I do," she spoke quickly, as information slowly trickled into her mind. Which consisted of the male in front of her called Sol, and that he was her neighbour who always called her "Onee-san", even though he already had an older sister. However, his biological sister was never around much, and when she was, she was drunk or was bedding some guy or two as soon as she came home. Therefore, he was always stay over at her apartment, and loved her for being his "sister".

In any case, she had won a contest of some sort for a pair of headsets to play a new virtual reality game called Origin Point Online. Unfortunately for the boy-child, he had been placed into a local hospital due to an "accident" caused by one of his sister's new boyfriends giving him some "candy". This candy was nothing more than a new product of heroin which could be ingested through the intestinal tract. Of course, giving such a powerful drug to a child such as he was nearly fatal, and placed him into intensive care as they did their best to keep him alive. Whilst the sister and her boyfriend were arrested and sent to prison for Child Endangerment.

This incident happened nearly a year ago, and the boy-child was just released. Why did it take so long for him to be discharged? Well, it turned out the child had a rare reaction to a combination of medicines within his system whilst the heroin was still present. Thus, he was forced to stay, as he had slipped into a coma due to the entire ordeal. Which is why, after so many hoops to jump through, and a mountain of paperwork, Luna was able to give the headset to Sol so that they may play the game together.

However, during all of this, she had been busy leveling up, going through the standard fetch quests, and had even completed the tutorial world called Terra. She didn't mind the summoning aspect of the game, but always felt something was off whenever she was summoned. In any case, once Sol was given the chance to come play within this world of Azzarath, she told him to head to the small farming community of Lom. Here, she would meet him atop a large hill of flowers which always bloom at noon. Of which had caused her to drift off into a short slumber whilst she awaited his arrival. Now that he was here, she could "show him the ropes", as it were.

To which she shook her head quickly, clearing her mind somewhat, "I had a weird dream," the female mumbled slowly, only somewhat confused.

"Oh yeah?" Sol asked, stopping in his tracks in order to look up at her with a curious expression plastered on his face, "What was it about?"

"I was facing off with a dragon, and it had killed my teammates. For some odd reason, it knew I was a human and my name."

"Well, you are obviously a human," he beamed a smile up at her face, then resumed pulling her along as they journeyed towards the small community of farms.

"That's not it," she shook her head quickly, "The place I was in did not have any humans, and they did not know about my race, but this dragon knew..." Luna soon gave up on such thoughts, as she was dragged towards a small market nearest to the hill. However, one could not call it such, as it was simply nothing more than a few colourful booths full of candies and roasting foods as many others had come to walk around and upon the hill full of flowers.

Many had even come with their significant other, as such a place seemed to increase the romance between such people. Unfortunately for her, she had no one beyond her little brother who was staring hungrily at a vender who was busy making some skewers full of vegetables and meats. "Hey, Luna," he whined softly, his eyes becoming as large as saucers, as his hands clasped together in a begging motion. To which she sighed and ordered a couple of the skewers for the both of them to eat as they continued onward, past the small market and into the woods nearby.

Whereupon they did finish their food and tossed the sticks away as she pulled out her weapon. Of which was naught, but a worn scimitar with flecks of rust around the hilt. "Ooh," Sol's eyes widened as he spied the weapon, but frowned as soon as he noted he was without one.

"Here," she called out softly, tossing him a long knife which was still sheathed inside a thin, leather scabbard. Of which caused him to squeal softly, as he wrapped the scabbard around his waist, whilst pulling out the blade.

"Thank you," his voice was too high, which caused her to wince, then gasp as a large wolf with dark brown fur growled at the pair before its eyes. Once it spied the boy-child, however, it did leap towards him with a maw opened wide in order to bite his neck. This caused the other to freeze up in shock, as the wolf found purchase on his shoulder and practically ripped it off.

"No!" Cried out Luna, as she charged and effectively lopped off the head of the creature, splashing their bodies with its blood whilst Sol's flowed onto the ground below. "Sol!" Once more, the female cried out as she noted he was fading away from the world, and towards the embrace of Death herself.

"No, no, no, no," she mumbled as tears from her eyes effectively blinded her. A bag had appeared next to her side, to which she dove into it in order to pull out a small, thin vial of a viscous fluid the colour of blood. This was then poured over the wounds the wolf had inflicted, and sealed it shut. However, the damage had already been done, and there was not much she could do about it.

Unfortunately for her, she was effectively booted from the game, and awoke to find herself inside a small, white room with colourful imprints of dinosaurs running around the room. What is more, a blue light was flaring within the room, as a door opened and in came a mass of adults in white. They wheeled in a pair of carts which held an odd contraption which was used to restart a failed heart.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

This slowly donned on her, as the child's chest was exposed, and a pair of paddles were placed atop his chest. "Clear," spoke one of the males in white, as a high pitched sound echoed throughout the room, followed by his small body lifting up and another odd machine beeping once before it gave a long, droning sound. "Again," spoke the male, and they tried again and again, but to no avail.

"I'm sorry," the doctors had told her, as an urn was placed into her hands. This container, which had several etchings of an unknown boy-child plating with a variety of toys every time you turn it, contained the ashes and bone dust of the one called Sol. Of which even had his name chiseled into one side near the lid. "I'm sorry," or "My condolences," was all they said as it was handed over to Luna.

She had worn her darkest clothing, as she watched the small body being loaded atop a large pile of wood, and burnt to ash as a priest of some sort chanted a long prayer to whatever go it served. Of course, the next of kin was notified, but due to his sister being the only actual family, and incarcerated, such a thing befell onto the shoulders of Luna. Of whom felt numb and hollow through the whole ordeal.

The doctors had told her he was in a coma due to the negative effects of their drugs and this new breed of heroin, but this wasn't the whole of the story. No. He was already dying due to the illegal drug, which had caused many of his non-vital organs to shut down. So, in an effort to keep his vitals active, they placed him inside a chemically induced coma in order to slow the progression down before it found its way into something more life threatening.

Unfortunately for them, they did not count on the shock the new game would have on the child's body. In which case, as soon as it was attacked by the wolf in the game, his actual body was flooded with adrenaline. This caused something in his system to become necrotic, and had latched onto the child's heart, killing him within a few minutes.

No, she did not understand these words spoken to her, as she had completely shut herself out of the world. For the child called Sol was dead, and she did not know what to do.

In any case, sleep did not come easy for one such as her, as dreams of the boy-child continued to haunt her. All the while, he continued to scream, "YOU KILLED ME!"

"No," she replied, shaking her head weakly as her dream-self backed away from the bloodied apparition within her mind.

"YOU KILLED ME!" It screamed once more, running at her with the same knife she gave to him so long ago. Of which caused her to flee, as it continued to chase her.

"No, please," she cried weakly as the child grew steadily closer, "I didn't know. Please. I- I-. Someone, please. I didn't do anything wrong!"

"Oh, but you did," spoke an unknown voice that was neither male nor female from within the darkness of her dream. Of which caused the boy-child to freeze, whilst his blood continued to flow, "You allowed Sol to enter the game, knowing full well about the doctors not wanting you to do this. Which is why there was so many hurdles and paperwork for you to complete."

"Who-?" She began, then found a sheet of paper floating in front of her eyes, "What is-?" Luna reached out to take the item, but it flickered into nothing within moments.

"That, was a piece of paper you signed. That was telling you, you understand the risks and would waive them away just so you could play with your precious Sol. These, on the other hand," a multitude of white paper with letters, numbers, and words fell from high above, "These are the risks you had to know in order to allow him to play. One of which was the adverse effects the game had upon the body when exposed to stress.

"This, my dear," a packet of paper floated in front of her eyes, and allowed her to take hold of in order to read the first page it opened to, "spoke of how the body might die due to the flooding of endorphins or adrenaline when exposed to stress or excitement of some sort.

"Do you remember the wolf you both faced off?" She nodded her head slowly, as realisation dawned on her. Of which caused her legs to give out, "Yes. the adrenaline which flooded his system caused whatever issues were within his system to become far more active. Thus killing his body, and whose fault is that?"

"Mine." Her voice was small and soft, but the entity within her dreams heard it.

"Yes. Yours."

"But- but..."

"But me no buts, little girl. You knew the risks, and chose not to care. Therefore, you killed Sol."

"No," she wept mightily at these words, "I didn't know. Please. I'll do anything, just..."

"Just what?"

"Just... Just no more. Please."

"Do you want me to remove this? Do you want these memories gone from your mind so that you may move on with your life?" The voice was full of bemusement as it spoke these words, to which the female human called Luna held a wild glint within her eyes.

"Please," she spoke fervently, "I didn't do anything wrong. Please."

"Serve me, and I shall make it as though none of this ever happened. Or, I can make it as though you never were in the wrong. All you have to do, is serve my person forevermore. Is this what you truly desire? Do you wish for Sol to be alive, happy, and healthy?"

"Yes," she spoke softly, as the glint in her eyes grew larger, and more wild.

"Then serve me, and I shall give you everything you desire."

"Please. I'll do anything you want, I promise. Just-"

"Just give back Sol?" At her nod, the voice chuckled softly, "Very well. Simply close your eyes, and relax."

"Thank you," she whispered, allowing whatever it was within her dream to take full control of her mind and body. Of which caused her inner self to struggle greatly as it noticed the sickly darkness was very familiar. "NO," she screeched, as a thunderous voice boomed with great laughter. Of which was the last voice she would ever hear.
