"Just five worlds, My Lord God?" Asked Brutus once more, as he cracked open the skull of a living, screaming mouse-kin in order to devour its brain. Whereas I simply watched him whilst he did this, jotting down a variety of notes towards the reactions given by the Kin. T'was simply amazing to see its eyes roll back, its body twitch and spasm, as well as its bodily functions excreted the waste within its small body. All of this was made possible by the Lich, as he slowly removed portions of its pink-grey organ, devouring each morsel until it was completely gone.
"Yes, Brutus," mentally I sighed once more upon such a query. For you see, he would continue to repeat such a question after hearing my speech of such a thing. Perhaps he was curious to know if my explanation would change enough for him to call my person out on the words spoken. "It is as I had said many time before. Once five worlds are conquered, then we will begin our final journey towards our world of Terra. Afterwards, we may do whatever we wish to, never needing to step foot outside it ever again."
"No more traipsing across the known universe for this or that, My Lord God?" Asked Sia, of whom was wearing an odd, white garment of some sort. She called it a "Lab Coat", of which confused my mind and brought back a hint of nostalgia for such a thing. However, it did not last for very long, as my attention was turned towards more current events.
"We shall hold a vote for those of whom would wish to continue onwards for adventure, or to simply stay upon our world of Terra. Those of whom wish to continue onwards, or simply stay may do so with my blessing. As I shall need to stay in order to manage such a world for many cycles before branching out for new heights."
"Why must you manage such a world for so long, Master?" Asked Val'ruum, as he and his twin dragged away the corpse of one of the conjurers to my person. This then led to my using the twisted magicks within my arsenal of spells in order to resurrect the fallen creature. Once completed, however, I needed to cast my enthrallments upon its mind, as it always appeared without such tethers attached.
"It must be done to ensure their loyalties to my person after being under the thumb of another for so long." Those of whom were not of our original world simply voiced their confusion, asking my person to explain further, "Every world we have been to, with the exception of this one, has a god or collection of deities which run their respective worlds. If one were to usurp the control of another, then that being must then work hard to ensure such a place does not fall into the arms of the Abyss or another god.
"Those of whom gain control of such a place must then place themselves within their new world, warding off all who come to claim or reclaim it in the name of the fallen deity. It is unknown how long it would take for my person to defend our world, but once completed will I be able to venture out with the assurance of it being safe forevermore."
"How do you know all this, Master?" Asked Rojaahn, of whom had turned away from a delicate operation in order to listen to my words. He then cursed himself for a fool, as the creature being operated on gave its last breath with a contented sigh. Of course, it then screeched and howled as metallic bear Undying revived it with his own magicks.
"Do you all remember the golem I had drained upon reaching this world of Azara?" Nearly all heads bobbed in their ascent of remembrance, "This golem god had within it the 'Gift of All Knowledge'. Within such a gift is, as it is called, all knowledge. However, the knowledge contained is only as great as the ones who placed such things within it. Meaning, if one were to withhold a portion of their knowledge whilst adding the rest, then those of whom are able to tap into said knowledge is only allotted that which is available."
Nodding heads appeared around my person, as they returned to their work of either training or simple experiments. However, there were still a few which desired a better explanation, and from you as well, my audience. "Imagine if you will, a library full of hundreds upon thousands, upon millions of manuscripts and books. Each full of the knowledge another being had attained upon their adventures throughout the known and unknown universes.
"Now, each of these books and manuscripts were donated by those of whom desired to share their knowledge with others. However, there will always be those who desire to give out falsehoods or withhold much of their knowledge from others. This is simply to ensure those who decide to read such things will not know much of anything. Therefore, they would keep such things to themselves.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
"As to the how of such things are given to this great library. Well, it really is quite simple, as each being merely needs to speak of what they know to the Tribunal, of whom we have all come to know quite intimately over the last few cycles." Chuckles and laughter scattered throughout those of whom had opted to stay near my person in order to listen to the rest of my more detailed explanation.
"Do you remember the small creature which stays near the one called Roj?" Nearly all nodded their heads slowly, "Well, this creature is one of the many librarians tasked with obtaining such knowledge from those who appear before them. Once they are whisked away to continue their adventures, it then transports itself to the main hub. Of which it them simply copies what it heard onto a great machine, which then creates a book or manuscript to place amongst the rest within such a place."
Once my explanation was completed, the rest of my servants scattered to complete whatever it was they had set aside in order to listen to my speech. Whereas I stepped out and into the world above our little hole in the earth. Whereupon I was almost immediately surrounded by a variety of draconic races who wished to express their gratitude and begged for my intervention of their families within distant villages and cities.
"Please, My Lord," begged an old male Draconian, whose scales had greyed and were peeling in various places about his body, "There is a slaver who comes through the city of Freeport, and brings in our kind from the east. This creature is scheduled to arrive by caravan in nearly a fortnight away, and we desire the rest of our people freed from its grasp."
"To the east, you say?" My query was answered with a bob of his scaled head, as it watched with widened eyes as a small Dragonock boy-child poked my tail, then scurried away. He then stared upon my features with a flinch, as though I were about to lash out, and opened his maw to utter apologies for such an action. However, much to his surprise, I simply raised up a clawed hand to stop his actions and words.
"Peace," my voice caused the earth about us to shiver from its force, "The child has done nothing to harm or bother my person. He was merely curious, or perhaps was dared by others his age to do as he had just done."
"You are not angry?" His eyes widened with shock, as I simply waved his small concerns away.
"Children will be children no matter their race. Who are we to stop them from exploring their curiosities, or halt them from their play? In any case, I desire to hear more of this 'slaver'. So tell me, what does it look like, if I were to go in search of such a being right now?"
"Well," the old Draconian sighed and rubbed the back of its neck with a clawed hand, "It's an orc."
There was a pause which seemed to stretch for much too long, as I continued to watch him until he squirmed under the silent gaze of my emerald orbs. "Yes? What kind of orc?" I asked, breaking the silence which stretched out between us, "Is it a short, green-skin with terrible strength, or a pink-skinned and pig-faced one with tusks growing from its jowl?"
"Th-the latter, Lord," he stammered, then seemed relieved as I simply sighed with my non-existent lungs, and pat his shoulder.
"Very well. Gather up those of whom hold a desire to rescue their fellow Draconian and Dragonocks from the clutches of this slaver. These will each become a proud warrior, no matter their age, as I will gift them with this ability."
"How will you do this?" Asked a female Draconian, of who had been listening since the beginning of the conversation between myself and the elder. Of whom whirled about his person with enough force as to topple over. Before he fell to the ground, however, my tail had wrapped itself around his waist, and set him upon his feet once more.
"I am still very much a god, young one, and I have my own ways which will soon be revealed. As to yourself, elder, I have a different task in mind for one such as you."
