It seems the merchants will leave tomorrow. Right now, I gave the village chief and Stacy the role of negotiations. I don’t want to be involved with those annoying people. I’d probably kill them if they said something that annoyed me.
Sigh, I guess I don’t have anything to do right now. I’ll just go check on the guards’ training.
I visit the guards and watch them train.
They seem to be improving a lot. Well, I did increase the amount of training they do so I guess that makes sense. But they are still not on the level I want them to be. I want them to be more. Much stronger than any soldier there is in this world.
I guess I should take this time to build myself that castle. I already created the plan with mindscape. Okay, let’s go back home. I bet Gram will be surprised when she sees what I’ll be building.
Back at the forest.
This seems like the perfect place to build my castle. The place I chose is in the green zone and has a nice layout. The surface is flat and is surrounded by green pastures all around. There are beautiful flowers sprouting on the ground and the gentle breeze just makes it even finer. Okay, let’s begin.
“Ray, Ariel. Let’s get started.”
With the slam of my hands together, the Domain is erected. The ground starts to shake vigorously as the earth starts protruding up. In order to build this castle all at once, I am using more than thirty spells all at once. Usually, it would be impossible to do this but with Ray and Ariel working with me, I can easily use more than a hundred different spells at the same time.
I’m using four magic attributes as the base for this castle. Earth magic, nature magic, space magic, and transformation magic. The castle’s structure will be made from earth. I will then extract the wood using nature magic to create the floors. Using space magic, I will move the materials and furniture from my storage space. Then using transformation magic to transform the earth into any shape or material I want.
Transformation magic is basically magic that can change the form and shape of something, but my transformation magic is different. My transformation magic can change the material itself into something new. Right now, I’m changing the pillars from earth to gold and other captivating materials.
After five hours, I am finally done. A castle of my own was now standing in front of me. I also included a training field in there. Starting tomorrow, the guards will have to train there. In the training field, I was able to create pocket dimensional rooms. They are basically rooms that connect to a pocket dimension I created with space magic.
The great thing about these rooms is that they have a different flow of time from the real world. Using time magic, I was able to speed up the time inside those pocket dimensional rooms. Basically, one month on the outside is equivalent to a year inside the pocket dimension. Of course, I made it so that the person who is inside age at the same rate as the outside world. All of that was possible thanks to the perks of having comprehended the laws of this world.
I feel quite proud of my accomplishment. I didn’t even realise that it’s already dark outside. I guess I should call it a night.
“Kid.” Alarms Ray.
“Yeah, I know.”
I’m picking up something with my magic sense. It seems an orc is attacking someone outside the forest. It’s a bit far from here. What the hell is an orc doing outside the forest?
“Maybe it was scared away by the quaking of the earth when you were building your castle.”
“Oh, that makes sense. Wait, what is that guy even doing? Is he part of the merchant caravan that is here?”
“Maybe.”
“What is he doing out there then?”
“Don’t know.”
Sigh, I guess I should help him before he gets himself killed, huh.
“Teleportation.”
I immediately teleport to where he is.
As the orc swings its enormous club at him, I am able to appear next to him just on time to stop the attack.
Thank God, I made it in time.
“Hey. Are you okay?”
“I-I’m okay.”
That’s good. It would have been bad if he had died.
It seems like you still have your humanity kid. To worry about someone else.
Yeah, I guess. I don’t mind if bad people die but innocent ones should live no matter the cost. As long as they don’t annoy me that is. I guess I should take care of this guy.

“Good. Then let me take care of this guy. Give me a sec.”
Now, how should I take care of this guy. Should I just one-shot him or should I use some magic, hmm?
Why don’t you try ‘that’ kid?
Oh, great idea Ray. I wonder if it’ll work though.
I then deploy a Domain covering the entire space. I raise my hand towards the orc and mutter-
“Gravity control: crush.”
I clench my hand and the scared orc is crushed into a ball of flesh.
YES! It worked.
I scream in happiness in my heart.
The reason why I’m happy is simple. Gravity magic is the hardest type of magic I’ve learnt so far alongside space and time magic. The reason why it was hard to learn was because it was impossible to apply the magic at an intended target.
Every time I used it; the surroundings would also be crushed due to the spell. It would even affect me, its caster. That was why I used it at the last second when I was facing the Demon Lord because the pressure would also crush me.
But now it’s different. With the help of Domain, I can control all that pressure that is meant to be released by the spell to the intended target. I’m glad my hypothesis was correct.
To think you can still smile kid? I’m amazed. All this time I thought you were a lifeless corpse.
Oi Ray. It seems you’ve gotten comfortable these past few days without me beating your ass, huh? I guess I’ll have to remind you.
I say to Ray with my cold, frightening face.
Crap, I scared the poor guy.
“Oh, driver guy. Where are you going? Your horse is injured remember.”
“Aha-ha, thanks kid, I mean sir for saving this lowly life of mine. I didn’t see anything today so please spare this inferior life of mine.”
Huh?! What’s with this guy? Did I scare him that much?
Well, you did just kill an orc like it was nothing. How did you think he would react?
Fuck. I should heal his horse at the very least.
“It’s okay. I’ll heal your horse for you.”
I heal his injured horse that was almost lifeless on the ground with a low-heal spell.
I should also fix his carriage.
“Restoration magic.”
After muttering those words, the carriage reverts to its original form as its broken pieces combined together. Restoration magic is basically a time related magic spell which is able to restore anything back to its original form from before it was damaged. Presuming that ‘thing’ doesn’t have any magical energy.
“There! This should be alright, right?”
“…”
He seems to be even more shocked. Sigh, I guess this is the first time I’ve interacted with someone who wasn’t from the village, huh. Come to think of it, they were also shocked when they first saw what I could do. I feel like a country bumpkin.
“You don’t need to worry; I won’t hurt you.”
“Um, thank you sir. For saving my life.”
What’s with people giving me titles as if I’m a fucking old man?
Well, you technically are, kid. If we were to add your age from your previous life and this one, then you would be around-
Shut up!
“Let me escort you until you leave this region. If another monster appeared, then you would probably die.”
“Um thank you sir-“
“Call me Allen, please.”
“Oh, Allen. Thank you master Allen.” Says the man as he bowed slightly in gratitude.
What’s with the master? I could just teleport him and his carriage to the edge of town but I’ve already surprised the poor guy enough. And if he were to tell people about what he saw then that would be annoying.
On the way, we were able to talk. He told me about his family and dreams. He also told me about his job and about how he’ll be fired when he gets back. It was nice talking with him. I could tell that he was a business minded person and the way he talked about business was incredible.
“Hey, Bran. How about I give you a choice.”
“Huh?”
I take out a potion from my storage space.
“T-that’s a high-grade potion. No, it looks a bit different from the high-grade potions I have seen. Just what is up with that potion?”
Keen eye. Some people wouldn’t even be able to tell that this is a potion that surpasses high-grade rank.
“It’s a high-grade potion but much better than your regular high-grade potion. This is the choice I’m giving you.”
“W-what is it?”
“You can take this potion and present it to the company you work for or sell it; I don’t really care. Either way, you’ll be able to gain a lot of money and if you were to put it up for auction, then the profit you’ll gain is unimaginable.”
“What’s the other choice?”
“The other choice is for you to work under me. I have an enormous supply of money to the point I don’t know what to do with it. I want to give you that money and with it, I want you to make even more money.”
“Huh, really. But something like that is… isn’t this type of an offer risky for you?”
“I like how your mind is. You are a dreamer and your dream is beautiful. I want to support that.”
My, my dream is beautiful? There hasn’t been anyone who’s said that to me. The only person who has supported me on my dream is my wife. Any other person just laughed at me when I spoke about my dream. Being a commoner, there are a lot of things I can’t have.
Right now, I need some sort of foothold in this world. And the best way to establish foothold is with money. If Bran can use the money I have, to create multiple businesses in this continent, then it will be much easier to accomplish my future goals.
Not only that but connections are established through business. I’ll need those connections in the future to easily move around the continent.
“This is a storage ring. It’s filled with a ton of money.”
“W-what?! How can you just give me so much money just like that? Aren’t you scared that I’d run away with it?”
“No, I’m not.”
Actually, I placed a tracking spell in that storage ring. I have a lot of storage rings with me that I plundered from the bandits I’ve fought so far. I’ve enhanced it with my magical power. I also added a form of protection spell in it just in case people try to kill him. Not only that but the moment he puts it on, he won’t be able to remove it unless I’m the one who removes it for him.
I was also able to increase the space inside it by ten times. I asked Gonz if he could craft magic items like this space ring but he said he couldn’t since each magic item requires its own type of magic.
For example, the storage ring can only be crafted by a person who can use space magic and etcetera.
I have to find myself a book on magic items. Come to think about it, I can just use the knowledge of technology from my world and craft my own unique magic items. I guess I don’t really need the book after all, huh.
“So, what will you choose Bran? Do you want to forever walk on a path that has already been paved for you… or do you want to pave your own path?”
He pauses for a moment and thinks. Then he answers-
“I want to pave my own path master Allen. I promise to serve you from today until the day I die. I accept your offer.” He says as he bows his head once more.
“Good.”
We then spend the entire night on the way back talking about business plans.
I gave him a few ideas as where to start but I think with his business mind, he already knows where to start.
Without my knowing, that was the birth of the person who shall forever be known as the Merchant King.
