Chapter 4

Are they scared of me because of what I did or is it because I’m human? Come to think about it, the cat people were also scared of me after I saved them. Must be because I’m human, right? Yeah, that must be it.

You must be the smartest dumbest person I know.

I approach them.

“Do you want me to free you?” I ask.

They don’t answer.

I see. Well, I’m not so generous as to help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves. I guess I’ll just leave them be for now and free the monsters instead.

“Yes. Please free us.”

Someone shouts out as I turn my back on them.

Oh, it’s the wolf girl. Come to think of it, she doesn’t have a collar on her. But judging from the flow of her mana, I can tell that she has a slave mark.

I look around the hostages.

Come to think of it, all the wolf beatsmen have slave marks. I guess being of a cat or wolf race is a sin on itself, huh.

I open the cage by ripping off the gate with my enhanced strength through mana. They are startled as some even grasped each other even more tightly. I also freed the snake-eyed people who also reacted the same way the wolf people did.

“You don’t need to worry. I won’t hurt you.” I say to all of them.

The wolf girl is the first to go out of the cage, testing the waters. She is then followed by the other members of her race. So do the snake-eyed people.

“What’s your name?” I ask the wolf girl.

She looks at me without a shred of fear and answers. “Khaya. My name is Khaya of the Gray Wolf Clan. Sir!”

Khaya, huh. That’s a nice name.

Khaya has a muscular-slim body and a cut under her left eye. One of her ears is cut just a little. She has dark grey hair and eyes. Her skin is brown with a few dark spots here and there. That must be a trait of the Gray Wolf members since all of them have them. She has claws sticking out of her fingers and a furry raggedy tail swaying behind her. A canine can also be seen peeking out of the side of her mouth.

Okay. I guess I should help remove the slave collars too, huh?

Slave collars have a ton of magic circles imbued on them. These magic circles are to cause pain and anguish the moment the person who has a slave collar disobeys their master’s orders or tries to take it off. Some also have an explosive magic circle were if the slave tries to take it off, it blows up.

But that isn’t the only thing that can trigger them. Some have a trigger for when the slave goes a certain distance from their master. Whoever designed them, they are the cautious type.

I can just overload the magic circuit of the collars and rewrite them with my own magic. That should be able to disable them.

“All of you. Don’t move. I’ll remove your collars.” I say to the snake-eyed beatsmen.

Everyone is a bit sceptical. I release my magical power enveloping the entire space. A click sound comes from the collars as they fall off their necks.

Some cheer in happiness while others think of running.

“We are free.”

Only the members of the Gray Wolf Clan don’t cheer. I turn and ask the snake-eyed person who is closest to me.

“And what’s your name?”

She moves gracefully as she slightly bows her head.

“My name is Samantha and I’m a Naga.”

Weird. Aren’t Nagas half-snake half-human monsters?

The reason why I am thinking this is because they look more human than snakes. They have two legs like regular humans instead of their lower half being that of a snake. The only resemblance to a snake they have is their snake eyes, tail, scales covering their arms and other parts of their bodies, and also the tongue and teeth.

Their thin slander teeth are sticking out of their mouth like vampires and their tongue wiggles out between the teeth every two-five minutes.

“I see. You didn’t state the name of your clan. Do you not have one or are you just not telling me?” I ask as I glare at her.

She is startled and quickly apologies.

“I’m sorry your Lordship but we Nagas don’t have clans. We are solitary creatures. The only time we come together is in the mating season.”

I see. That makes sense, I guess.

The other nagas didn’t lower their guard as we were talking. Their freaky eyes were fixed on me.

I turn and look over the Gray Wolf Clan.

“I can remove your slave curse if you want.”

“Really? How?” Asks Khaya with a gaping mouth.

“That doesn’t matter. What matters right now is, what will you do for me after I free you?”

Some of them start shaking. They look at Khaya but she also has a sad face.

They thought that even though they had escaped one hell a second ago, they were being thrust to another.

“We will follow you.” answers a man as he appears within his people.

Oh, I didn’t expect to see a man from them. I thought the men weren’t kept as slaves like the cat race but now that I look around, there are quite a lot of them.

“What’s your name?” I ask.

“Levi.”

Levi. He seems like a man who’s been through hell and back. He has a lot of scars on his body and he’s well-built too. He is much taller than Khaya and he’s darker too. Is he a warrior?

“Levi. You can’t. Let me be the one who makes this decision.” Says Khaya as she grabs Levi’s arm.

“No big sis. You’ve been the one talking so far. I can’t let you make all the decisions. I am, after all, the leader of this clan.” he then looks to his people.

“I’m the one who made this decision. If you want to blame someone, then you can blame me and me alone.”

What?! Khaya is his big sister? But this guy looks like he is older than her though. It seems age is something I’ll never comprehend in this world.

The members of the Gray Wolf Clan start looking at each other. I can see the sense of uneasiness from them. I am human after all. They probably hate humans.

“We understand young master. We will follow you till the ends of the world.” Says one of the men as he stands beside him.

The uneasiness disappears as all of them walk forward.

They all kneel in front of me as they recognise me as their master. The Naga people are confused by what is going on.

What about the others, kid. What will you do with them?

The Naga beastmen. Sigh, I hate giving speeches.

I stand on a crate so that everyone can see me.

“Okay, all of you, listen.” I say as I clap my hands to get their attention. “My name is Allen. That’s all you need to know about me. There is a place that I can take you all where you can live in peace. I promise that as long as you follow me, I’ll provide everything you might need.”

That should suffice, right?

Confusion is written all over their faces.

I guess following a human is a hard pill to swallow. Well, it doesn’t matter. They should make their decisions. I’ve got things to do.

“Hmph. You humans are all the same. You want to use us for all we are worth then cast us aside after.”

A grumpy elder voice echoes from behind the Nagas.

Hmm, who’s talking?

I gloss over the people who are there and a small muscular man, around the height of a ten-year-old child, emerges from behind the Naga beastmen.

He is a dwarf. Dwarves are a race that are known for their amazing blacksmithing techniques and craftmanship. They love crafting weapons and armour more than anything in the world. I heard from Ray that dwarves are rare since they seclude themselves in their territory. Because of humanity’s greed for power, they hunted down dwarves and forced them to work for them.

Because of that, they secluded themselves in the steep mountain of the Elry Slopes that isn’t easy to move around on. They hate humans more than anything in this world and would rather die than serve them.

Because of his words, some of the Naga beastmen start hesitating to take my offer.

“If you don’t want to follow me then that’s alright. I can find you all a way to safety. Those who want to follow me can come with me.” I say.

A look of surprise is written all over the dwarf’s face.

What is this human playing at here? With his power, he can probably take us by force and we wouldn’t be able to resist. Humans and their cunning nature.

“Hmph. Let me guess, you want me to follow you right? After all, I’m a dwarf and I’m sure you won’t be letting me go.”

“I don’t really care if you follow me or not.”

“What?!”

What the hell is this brat up too? I’m Mapa. One of the best blacksmiths in the entire continent. A lot of human kingdoms would start a war just to get me. Is he trying that reverse phycology thing on me?

“Do you even know who_” before he can finish, I interrupt him.

“Did you all make your decisions yet? I’m short on time so if you could finish, that would be swell.”

Is he ignoring me? How dare he?

They divide themselves into people who wanted to serve me and the ones who still wanted to go and look for their families.

Samantha comes forth as she is followed by twenty other Naga people. Forty of them held themselves back and didn’t follow her.

Okay. I guess this is it. Fifty people in total counting the Gray Wolf Clan. I guess I’ll have to ask Naomi for a favour for the forty Nagas.

“Oh, what about you, old man?” I ask the dwarf who is still in a daze.

“Huh? Old man? I’m only a hundred and five years old you snort nose brat. And my name is Mapa.” He shouts at me.

Sigh, this guy is already annoying. Should I just leave him behind?

“Fine. Since you basically begged me. I’ll follow you. But if you try anything then I swear I’ll_”

“Yeah, yeah. Stand next to them.” I say as I pushed him to the others.

Stinking brat. He isn’t even paying me any mind. I’ll show you who I am. I bet you’ll be kneeling, begging for my forgiveness.

Okay. I guess I should free the monsters too. They seem rare and well behaved too. I can have Abaddon place them at one of the pocket dimensional rooms for the monsters.

The black panther is huge. Bigger than an adult human. I look at it and it looks at me back with its golden eyes. No fear span from its eyes. I open its cage and it walks out and stands in front of me. It looks at me one more time as it moves next to the others.

There are also other exotic monsters like the rainbow bird which radiates from its beautiful, coloured feathers. The diamond stag that has diamond antlers. Two rock turtles and a few more.

After that, I call the Gray Wolf Clan members as I release the curse on their bodies by imprinting them with the same spell, I gave the Cat tribe.

How is this possible. He removed all their curses like it’s nothing. Just who the hell is this brat? Thinks Mapa.

“So, brat. How are you going to get us out of here? With such a large number of people, I bet the people of this city will notice.”

“I’ll get you out by teleportation, of course.”

“Huh?! You can use teleportation?”

“Yeah. Now stand together with the others.”

He’s speaking about teleportation like it’s nothing. Hmph, how will he even teleport this many people at once? Teleportation magic is a high-level magic spell that is hard to control. Usually, people only use it to teleport themselves or people fewer than five. Is this kid an idiot or what?

I contact Abaddon via telepathy.

Abaddon. Can you hear me?

Yes, my liege. What can I do for you?

I’ll be sending some people over. You know what to do.

I understand.

I cast a teleportation magic circle under the people who chose to follow me. They are shocked as they are engulfed by the bright light of the teleportation spell.

What the heck is this? Is this a teleportation magic spell? It’s different from your ordinary teleportation magic circle. This brat.

“Hey, brat. Just who the hell are_” before Mapa could finish shouting, they disappear.

Now, what should I do with the rest? I can’t leave them here since the soldiers will probably come after all the ruckus I’ve made. Hmm, I got it.

“I’ll teleport you guys to a nearby forest. I’ll have people who will escort you find you there.”

I open my storage space and take out some meat of the edible monsters I’ve hunted.

I activate a teleportation magic circle that sends them away.

“Now, let’s go see Naomi.”

“Kyuu.”

Huh, what the hell is that sound?

I look around after hearing a weird sound only to find a slime locked up in a small crate.

I’ve seen slimes in the Silent Demon’s Forest. They are monsters that have a body made of slime. They are like jelly and are considered the weakest monsters. They are also known as scavengers since they like to eat the carcasses of the dead.

But I have never seen a slime like this? Slimes have different colours depending on what they eat. Green slimes eat herbs and plants and brown slimes eat carcasses and waste. There are also blue slimes which like to eat dirt and gems from water.

This slime is different. It has a grey colour. A colour I haven’t seen before on a slime.

Ray, do you know what type of slime is this?

Nope.

You’re useless, you know that.

I release the slime from its cage. It is cheerily after I release it. It keeps jumping up and down. I guess that’s a form of thank you. And then a white glow came out of the slime’s body and enters mine.

“Did this slime just gave me its soul brand?”

Yes, yes it did.

“You’re quite a trusting little guy, aren’t you? Sigh, well I guess there’s nothing I can do about that.”

I pick up the slime and place it on my shoulder. It seems to like it there.

“I guess I should give you a name. Hmm, how about Lime?”

Wow. What an original name.

I didn’t hear you complain about the name I gave you.

“And besides, this little guy seems to like it.”

Oh, before I forget. I should take that Raizer guy’s blood sample. I’m quite curious about the gifted and I want to study their genetic makeup.

After taking the sample from the blood all over the floor, I decide to destroy the place entirely. Flames appear on the ground in a spiral rotatory motion. The flames grow bigger and bigger, engulfing everything in sight. The flames blast out of the roof of the building forming a massive pillar of flames as the building burns to the ground.

I teleport to Naomi’s inn.
