Chapter 19:

Chapter 19:

My heart is pounding through my chest. Tears fill my eyes as I look at the treasure trove before me. My asura eyes sparkle like the ocean when the sun hits at the top of it at the right moment.

“Is this heaven?”

I say knowing full well that this is in fact heaven.

Really, kid. Books are what turn you on?

Shut up.

I’m just saying. Of all the times where you were supposed to be as happy as you are now, books are what do it?

You can never understand, Ray. Books aren’t just books. They are knowledge. They are history. They are stories. With books, we can know how the world was a thousand… no tens of thousands of years ago.

Wow, I never knew that’s what books were.

Are you being genuine here or are you being sarcastic?

Oh, no. I’m being genuine.

You’re not.

I jump at the chance to be the first one in ten thousand years to read these books. I gloss over each one but after realising how annoying it would be to read each book individually, I decide to suck every book in the shelves into my storage space.

After storing every book in the shelves in my storage space, I sit in a meditation posture on the ground preparing to enter my mindscape but Lime just keeps his gaze on the garden of herbs, drooling.

“And you. Don’t eat the herbs.”

Lime looks at me and although he doesn’t have eyes, I feel like he is giving me the puppy dog eyes.

“No. Be a good boy and don’t.”

Well, slimes are genderless.

His gaze is fixed on me but I cannot break. Those herbs are at least ten thousand years old. The potions I could craft with them are godly. I can’t have a glutton of a slime go eating my stash.

“Okay. Fine.” I say as I take out some low-level magic cores out of my storage space. I accidentally include a high-level core with them.

“Oops.”

I better put it back. I’ve read that if low-level monsters ate high-level magic cores, they would die due to the strong energy surge inside them. I can’t have Lime dying on me now, can I?

As I hold the core of a mount gorilla, Lime jumps at the chance and eats it from my hand.

“Lime, don’t. You’ll die.”

My words fall on deaf ears as he swallows the core whole.

“Damn!”

I grab Lime and look over him.

Maybe it might not be too late. If I forcefully absorb the energy he ingested right now, I can-

“Kyu.”

Lime squeals as his cheeks turn pink. He starts drooling even more like a dog wanting seconds.

“You… are alright?”

“Kyu.”

It seems that’s a yes. Come to think about it, the energy of the core has already settled inside his body. Just how the hell did that happened?

“You want more?”

Stolen novel; please report.

“Kyu.”

I take back the low-level cores and take out a dozen of high-level cores. Lime didn’t waste time as he gobbles the cores like there is no tomorrow.

Weird. He seems fine even after eating this much. Does that mean he is no regular slime? Ray, what are your thoughts?

Can’t say kid. This is a first for me too. Slimes are scavengers. They eat dead things or herbs and stuff. They ignore things like magic cores because it’s hard for them to digest energy.

I see. But this guy is eating cores like they are nothing. Do you think it will evolve after eating this much?

Don’t know. I haven’t heard of a slime that can evolve or even seen an evolved form. All I know about slimes is that when they are full or have reached a certain threshold, they divide into two or more.

Are you telling me this guy will split into more of him?

My face looks grim as the thought crosses my mind.

Yeah, I don’t need more slimes. Well, if I remember correctly. I gave Sabrina the task to investigate and experiment on slimes. Maybe she’ll make a breakthrough.

I then enter my mindscape.

***

In my mindscape.

Do you want me to process all the newly acquired knowledge into your brain, master?

“No. display it on the mindscape. I want to comprehend it myself this time Ariel.”

After I say that, dozens of panels appear before me each representing the thousands of books.

Ray appears next to me and asks.

“Are you sure about this, kid? Ariel can just process everything for you and plant it in your brain in a matter of minutes.”

“I know that, but I want to read them this time.”

“You do know that will take hundreds of hours.”

“Yes, but I should finish every book in a few hours in real time.”

Thanks to my thought acceleration, time moves faster in my mindscape. The books that would take months in real time will only take at least 10-12 hours. Of course, in my mindscape, it will feel like months have passed but I don’t really mind that.

And just like that, I start on my fun time. Seconds started counting down and a minute had passed in real time. Those minutes continued down the line turning into hours. And just like that, ten hours had already passed.

My eyes slowly open.

“I’m glad I comprehended the contents of those books myself.”

Hmm, what are you on about? Asks Ray.

“I just got enlightened on the Laws of Nature.”

Really, kid? I thought you were blocked off from the World’s Mana Network?

“I am. My comprehension of the World’s Mana Network hasn’t increased even a little bit. But my comprehension of the already comprehended knowledge has increased. Especially the laws of nature. Now, I can finally make my pocket dimensions hospitable for nature.”

So far, my pocket dimensions were not hospitable for nature. Yes, humans and animals could live there no problem, but plants never survived. I tested that theory using potted plants and all of them didn’t survive. I theorized that the cause was the fact that the laws of nature, the laws that help stabilize nature and allows for growth, were non-existent.

I even went to the point where I filled one of the pocket dimensions with soil using magic, but that soil turned into mana and magic particles within two days. All of that was because the soil wasn’t supported by the laws of nature since there were none.

Natural soil on the other hand turned black.

I tried to imbue the laws of nature in the pocket dimensions but my comprehension of them wasn’t complete and so they were rejected.

So far, my comprehension of the laws of nature are to the point where I can summon thunder, create earthquakes, create tsunamis and more without using much of my mana.

But now, I can re-create the laws of nature for my own pocket dimensions. Basically, that will make me like a god in my own dimensions.

I enter my mindscape once more.

“Ariel, pull up all my pocket dimension records. Exclude my storage space and rest space.”

Ten panels show up in front of me.

“Show me real time footage.”

Images of them show up like a video.

Six of them are occupied. Three of the six have the monsters that I have captured. I have the maids in the castle feed them constantly so that they don’t turn on themselves due to hunger. Of course, the monsters are all carnivores. One of the rooms has people sitting down on desks as they study.

It seems Abaddon has started on the ‘future project’ I tasked him.

Another room has Ariel and Shadow Shades.

It seems everyone is training hard.

The last occupied room has Light and few of the guards. They are all training hard, but Light stands out. Sweat is dripping all over his body as he swings his sword.

The four remaining pocket dimensions are empty.

“That’s good. I’ll start with them.”

On three of the four empty rooms, I plan to create environment training rooms. They will be the gravity room, the frozen wasteland, and the lava grounds. The frozen wasteland and the lava grounds will build the guards’ resistances against heat and cold. The gravity room will improve their physique as an enormous pressure will be exerted on their bodies.

The fourth room is part of Sabrina’s lab. Since she is working with biology and does a ton of experiments that would take long to show results, I created for her this pocket dimension to help with that since time in there is faster than real time.

I’ll just give it some ground and let her place some of her things there.

I then begin my plans and it took exactly 3 hours to finish on the four rooms.

I’ll also do the other six rooms too. Even though they are occupied, establishing the laws of nature there shouldn’t hurt them. Maybe it might freak them out a bit.

Sign, I feel like I’ve been working non-stop. I bet its night-time now. Well, it’s not like I’m tired. Let’s keep going.
