MADAM WINTERS’S FIGHT FOR HER CHILDREN CHAPTER 1247
Ninian stroked her chin and started thinking about how she could assist Brooklyn.
Looking at the happy family, Nerola's lips curled up, and her eyes were full of envy. All rights © .
She guessed that she could never own such warmth in her life.
As she smiled, her eyes were filled with gloom. Her heroic imposing demeanor seemed to emanate more loneliness amid the bustling and noisy background.
She shook her head and suppressed her emotions. The gloominess in her eyes was substituted with a smile. She continued looking at Lana and Harold who were quarreling, as well as George, who was whispering caring instructions to Ninian.
She did not know that a pair of eyes in the car caught all her emotions and expressions.
Alden and Melody did not get out of the car.
If too many members of the Winters family showed up, it would give off a certain level of pressure or oppression to the rest.
After all, they were Ninian's friends, so George had gotten out of the car personally. He showed them his respect and flawless manners.
Harold was pretty much familiar with Lana and Nerola, so he had also gotten out of the car.
Melody was indifferent and distant, so she stayed inside.
Alden was even more indifferent. Aside from his family members, only work could stir up his emotions slightly.
Therefore, he did not get out of the car as well.
Right then, he regretted not getting out a little. As he observed Nerola's slim and valiant figure, he narrowed his eyes slightly. He nearly thought he was seeing his other self.
Similar to him, she was hidden even though she was standing among the crowd.
She was not obstructive or outstanding. She was silent and distant from the noise and annoyance in the world.
He saw the envy and silence in her expression, but he also saw her hidden independence and integrity.
That girl must be holding up a lot of stories in her heart.
She was like a very thick book. She looked free and easy-going, but she was actually trapped in a corner, unable to get out.
He wondered who would open the book.
Alden suddenly felt a little curious.
As if the girl felt his gaze, she raised her head and looked over.
Alden did not avoid her and looked straight into her eyes. In an instant, the two of them seemed to be gazing at each other.
However, Nerola quickly looked away. After she glanced at her surroundings, she turned her gaze elsewhere.
Alden knew that she could not see him.
The car windows had been modified to be bulletproof and peep-proof. She could not spot him.
“Al, what are you looking at?”
Melody noticed how focused he looked, so she questioned him.
Alden smiled faintly and said, “A story."
He was reading a storybook.
Melody looked over and immediately curled her lips. There was faint joy in her eyes.
"A good story can really unfold for them."
Her gaze happened to be on Harold and Lana who were fooling around.
Alden knew that she had misunderstood, but he did not explain. Instead, he looked away, leaned back in the soft, genuine seat, and closed his eyes slightly.
After Ninian bade goodbye to Nerola, the group got into the car.
Harold dragged Lana to sit in the innermost seat, and the two of them were still joking around.
Ninian lowered the car window and waved goodbye to Nerola.
As the car moved away, Nerola's figure became smaller and smaller in the rear-view mirror. In the end, she disappeared.
"Grapie, what's her name?" Alden suddenly asked.
