MADAM WINTERS’S FIGHT FOR HER CHILDREN CHAPTER 1121
Chapter 1121 “You don‘t say!” Harold said cheerfully. He was feeling extremely pleased with himself.
Earlier, he had sworn that he would not compromise on Ninian‘s request.
But those words were thrown in the bin as if he had never said those words in his life.
Everyone knew that Harold never took his oaths seriously.
Soon, Harold and Ninian arrived at the hotel where Raina stayed.
They ran into her at the stairs, saving them the trouble of looking for her.
“Hal! Ninian!” Raina said in shock, “Why are you here?”
“Hey, Raina. What a coincidence ! It has been so long!” Ninian stammered from the sudden bout of nervousness.
Harold patted her head to comfort her. He then looked at Raina with severity in his gaze. “Raina, we came here to look for you.”
“Me?” Raina‘s expression changed. She became cold and vigilant. “What for?”
“Why don‘t we go somewhere else to chat?” Harold said as he pointed to the passersby who were watching them.
Raina stirred her coffee with a spoon and said in a self deprecating ‘manner, “Fate must be having a kick right now, looking at how I have run into three Winters family members today.
“We‘ve lost contact for three years. All of a sudden, you Winters siblings showed up once again. I‘m sure it has something to do with George.”
Harold and Ninian felt awkward when Raina said it.
Back then, they were pretty close to each other.
However, at that time, they did not reveal their true identities when they were going through the international exchange. So, Raina and George dated for a long time, but she had no idea that he was a prominent figure in the Winters Corporation.
They did not know how Raina ever figured out George’s identity, but Ninian and Harold believed that when Raina first got together with George, their feelings for each other had been pure. Both of them felt awkward when Raina said “the Winters siblings” out loud in a seemingly mocking tone.
“Speak up.” Raina‘s tone was cold as ice, but she was still curtly polite. “Why are you two here for me?” “Raina, we‘re here to talk about what happened three
years ago.” Ninian clenched her hands tightly on the table. She raised her head and looked Raina in the eye. “I want to tell you the truth about why George went missing for half a month.”
Raina subconsciously sat straight in an attentive manner when she noticed how serious Ninian looked.
“The truth?” Raina tensed up, but she tried to look relaxed. “Didn‘t he go to work at Winters Corporation ? Later on, I heard that the chairman of Winters Corporation took over the company earlier than expected because of his outstanding performance in that half a month. So, he became the company‘s leader. Hmph...
congratulations to him.”
There was a hint of pain in her gaze. It was fleeting as she suppressed it quickly.
“Raina, you must‘ve felt really upset...” Ninian looked at Raina‘s pale face. She knew that she was trying to suppress her pain. She felt sorry for her, and she started to tear up. “I‘m sorry, it‘s my fault. George wanted to deal with my problems, that‘s why he was occupied for half a month. And because of that, it has caused a huge misunderstanding and ended up hurting you.”
“What do you mean?” Raina was a little shocked. She could feel that she was about to know a groundbreaking truth.
Harold watched Ninian closely. He was so nervous that he
clenched his fists tightly.
He did not stop her. Instead, he let her open up about her past trauma on her own. It was the only way that could help her get liberated from and overcome it.
“It‘s because, at that time, I was kidnapped.” Ninian‘s voice trembled as she said slowly, “Something terrible nearly happened to me. George was protecting me...”
Raina‘s expression changed when she heard what Ninian said.
She felt shocked and said in disbelief, “Ninian, you...” How could this be?‘
Chapter 1122 “At that time, everyone was in shock. Daddy was furious, and everyone else blamed themselves for it...”
Ninian‘s voice quivered as she recalled her dark past.
Her usually lit–up bright eyes were now welling up with tears and looked dull.
“George personally dealt with that man. He even... turned violent... All rights © .
“At that time, George was upset. Everyone... was also upset...”
“Okay, Ninian. Enough!” Raina said out loud. She could not bear it anymore. “It‘s all in the past now...”
“I‘d never once seen George work so hard. He blamed himself for the incident...” Ninian was deep into her memories. The shackles of trauma that kept her from moving on were not the incident itself, but instead, it was the guilt the family felt from the incident.
Her face was pale and clenched her fingers as she said, “ George and Alden barely slept, Mommy and Melody cried secretly, and Harold, the most cheerful person I know, did not smile for half a year...”
“Grapie...” Harold looked at her pale face, her eyes couldn‘t help but had a sour feeling in her heart.
‘So, that‘s the real reason why my poor sister can‘t move on...‘
Harold wanted to say something, but before he could, Raina stood up and hugged Ninian. She gently stroked her soft hair and said, “Ninian, it‘s all over now, and everyone is fine now. There‘s no need to be afraid or guilty about it.”
Harold felt upset and had a tightness in his throat. He faked a charming smile, held Ninian‘s hand, blinked his eyes, and said jokingly, “I have no idea you felt so guilty about this matter. Looks like I need to give you a good squeeze.”
Ninian gradually calmed down and focused on Harold and Raina when she saw Harold‘s cheerful smile and Raina‘s gentle and firm reassurance.
“Hal...” She pursed her lips. She had an aggrieved expression on her delicate face. “I‘m sorry, I made you worry.”
“Silly girl, we’re a family. There’s no need to say such things. We‘re here to support you!” Harold said as he held her hands gently. It was as if he was trying to radiate courage and strength to her to fight through the shadow of her past. Raina said tenderly, “Ninian, you’re a good girl. They are happy to have you as their sister.”
