She Insists
The next day, Emelie and Wesley went to the headquarters of the Filo Group.
As Wesley expected, even though the shareholders were angry, they did not dare to object to the expulsion of Natalia from the family or the transferring of Natalia's shares to Emelie.Text © 2024 .
Wesley also announced that he would marry Emelie in April.
The shareholders understood that after their marriage, the couple's share percentage would increase and surpass the majority threshold.
At that point, the entire Filo Group would be under Cronus' control. They had no chance of winning.
After the meeting, Emelie left the conference room.
Jodie approached her and whispered a report to her ear. "Mrs. Russo wants to see you."
Emelie raised an eyebrow. "Me?"
"Yes. She says that she has a secret about Mr. Graham that she wants to tell you." Jodie was nervous as she relayed this. She could guess what Natalia would say to Emelie.
She should have hidden Natalia's message from Emelie and reported directly to Wesley, but she had never wanted Emelie and Wesley to be together.
At this moment, she thought that if Natalia really told Emelie the truth, it might be a good thing. So, she reported it to Emelie truthfully, leaving the decision to Emelie on whether to see Natalia or not.
Emelie returned to her office, twisted open a bottle of mineral water, and drank most of it. Then, she said, "Of course I'll go. How can a junior refuse when an elder wants to see them?"
Natalia was held custody at the police station.
The entire country knew of her extreme and heinous crimes. Unless one was courting death, one wouldn't come forward to bail her out. So, Natalia's final fate would most likely be life imprisonment.
She knew that she wouldn't be able to live freely again, but she was unwilling to accept it. Even if she were to go to hell, she wanted to drag a few more people down with her.
Over the past few days, she had been racking her brain, thinking about how she could still strike back and turn the tables.
After much thought, she remembered Emelie's identity and her relationship with Wesley.
She figured that Emelie wouldn't accept Wesley's feelings toward her. Wesley was likely hiding this from her as well. Otherwise, they would have already claimed the 10% shares from Amelia and taken full control of the Filo Group.
Since Wesley wanted to keep it a secret, she was determined to expose the truth. Even though doing so wouldn't benefit her, seeing her enemies in pain would bring her joy.
In the evening, Emelie arrived at the police station as she'd agreed. She was wearing a business suit, indicating that she came from the company.
Natalia was sitting behind the iron bars, sneering, "Who owns my shares now?"
Emelie sat down calmly. "Me."
Natalia said venomously, "It's the Filo family's misfortune to be taken over by outsiders!"
Emelie smiled. "The Filo family has nothing to do with you anymore. You don't need to be so heartbroken over it." Natalia gritted her teeth and sneered. "Well, Emelie, don't you want to hear a secret? It's about Wesley."
Emelie casually smoothed out the wrinkles in her suit and said, "I don't."
Natalia froze, but Emelie remained impassive.
Natalia couldn't believe it. "You don't want to know? Do you know how big this secret is? Do you know this secret is about you too? You..."
Emelie cut her off. "I said that I don't want to know, so I don't want to know. You don't need to waste your breath." "If you don't want to know, then why are you here to see me?" Natalia asked.
Emelie lowered her crossed leg. "I came to see you because I want you to tell me about Beathan. If you do, I can guarantee..."
"That you'll let me go?" Natalia hurriedly asked.
"In your dreams." Emelie scoffed. "I can guarantee that you'll be placed in a relatively safe prison. Otherwise, you might end up being locked up with some notorious and ruthless criminals. Your remaining life could be very short.
Natalia gasped, "You... you wicked woman!"
Emelie didn't care what she was called. "So, will you talk or not?"
Natalia was confused. "Hasn't Beathan been arrested too? What more do you need to know about him?"
"Just in case," Emelie said.
Just in case he somehow got out.
Natalia had no other choice. She exhaled heavily and said, "He opened a hot spring hotel."
Emelie narrowed her eyes. "Oh? Mind elaborating?"
After Emelie left the police station, she was still thinking about what Natalia had told her.
Jodie quickly informed her, "Ma'am, news just came from Capebatt City. Beathan has been released on bail!" Emelie's first reaction was a snicker. Just as expected, old institutions died hard.
