Chapter 447

CHAPTER 447

After leaving the meeting with Victor, Madeline brought Martin to the Cavendishes' countryside estate.

When they arrived, Katrina was standing beside the road waiting for her ride with her suitcases alongside her.

She had just been driven out of the estate by Victor's men.

Her screaming, shouting, and hysterical ranting did nothing to stop Victor's men from chasing her out of the estate.

Katrina was furious enough to even commit murder.

She never thought she would ever come to this. Her life was in shambles and she was an outcast. She didn't even have a place to stay anymore.

That wasn't the end of it. Abigail had taken her jewelry back along with the ones her daughters secretly gave to her.

When Victor threw her out of the Cavendish home, she had nothing with her as they didn't even give her a single penny.

Katrina had some money in her bank account, but it wasn't much. She did get a bit of money from Abigail, but it was less than 50,000.

It was the jewelry that Abigail gave her that was worth a lot more.

If she still had Abigail's jewelry, she could sell them off and buy a house in one of the more affordable cities.

But now, Abigail had taken all of the jewelry away.

Katrina might not have been as upset if she never had the jewelry in the first place, but the fleeting moment of ownership was enough to make her feel the loss so deeply that she felt as if her heart was being ripped to shreds.

To add insult to injury, she couldn't even do anything to Abigail.

Abigail was right. Katrina didn't dare to turn this into a public spectacle.

If she did, the Cavendishes would be humiliated, and Victor wouldn't let her get away with it. Not only would her life get even worse than it already was now, but her children would be affected as well.

Her children were her weakness. She didn't want to drag them into this mess. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Katrina gathered her belongings and stood on the side of the road waiting for her ride.

She was certain that Abigail must've done a number on her shoulder. Pain shot through her system each time she moved it in any way, and she wanted to get it checked at the hospital. Worse came to worst, she could always spend a few days in the hospital first before deciding where to go next.

Katrina waited for quite some time, but the ride she booked was still nowhere to be found.

Annoyed at the wait, she was about to check her phone again when she spotted a car approaching from a distance.

She thought it was the ride she booked, so she put her phone away and gathered her things.

However, when the car came to a stop beside her, she realized that she was mistaken.

It was too good of a car.

It was unlikely for such an expensive car to be part of a ride-sharing business.

Katrina grew nervous and took several steps back with her luggage.

Madeline stepped out of the car and without saying anything, she dragged Katrina by the collar and shoved her into the car.

"Who are you?! What are you doing?!" Katrina shrieked.

Madeline stuffed her into the backseat of the car and slammed the door shut. She locked the door for good measure.

"What are you doing? Let me down!" Katrina ignored the throbbing pain in her shoulder and tried her best to open the car door.

Martin, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, turned around to look at her.

Katrina jumped in fright when she spotted Martin. "It's you? What do you want?"

Martin simply stared at her without saying anything.

Madeline got into the driver's seat and drove off to a secluded area.

Katrina kept screaming on and on in the car. She wanted to jump out, but she couldn't open the door and she was already hurt. The pain in her shoulder seemed to electrocute her each time she moved, so she couldn't even struggle, let alone jump out.

She could only wait in despair as Madeline drove her to an isolated area with no one around.

The car came to a stop, and Madeline hauled Katrina out of the back seat.

Katrina couldn't stay upright. She stumbled to the ground and her already throbbing shoulder began to hurt even more.

She groaned in agony as she held her shoulder. It felt as if she had broken a bone.

Katrina flew into hysterics. "What are you doing? I'm reporting you to the police! I'll ask the police to arrest you!"

"As if you dare to!" Madeline crouched down beside Katrina and leveled her with an icy glare. "If you call the police, I'll make sure the Cavendishes kick your children out of the family. They'll become penniless outcasts just like you!"

"How dare you?!" Katrina snarled viciously. "My children are innocent! How dare you do that to them? If

you hurt them in any way, I'll destroy you. Even if I die, I'll come back as a ghost to haunt you!"

"The evils of men are far more terrifying than any ghost, so if I'm not afraid of a despicable woman like you, why would I be afraid of a ghost?" Madeline sneered. "Go ahead and test me then! See if I dare! Do you think I didn't come prepared for what I'm about to do? If you sue me, I'll have an entire team of lawyers to help me with the lawsuit, but you? Your children will be kicked out of the Cavendish Family because of you. They'll be penniless and forced to fend for themselves on the streets!"

"You can't do that! They're innocent! There'll be hell to pay if you hurt them!" Katrina wanted to grab Madeline's clothes, but Martin kicked her away.

"How dare you kick me?" Katrina stared at Martin, wide-eyed in disbelief.

In her eyes, Martin was still the young man who didn't dare to utter a single word even when she abused him.

She was always the one with the upper hand whenever she dealt with Martin. He was merely a fish on the cutting block that she could slice up however she wished.

And yet, the Martin that was in front of her now had the guts to kick her.

"I'm your mother! I'm your elder! How dare you hit me?! Lightning will strike you down for this, Martin Taylor!" Katrina screamed at the top of her lungs. She couldn't accept that she was no longer the one in power.

Madeline gave Katrina another kick which sent Katrina crashing to the ground.

She stepped on Katrina's face and pressed it into the mud. "What makes you shameless enough to call yourself his mother? If it weren't for you, Martin would be the youngest son of the Whitfield Family. He would have grown up with his parents' love and his brothers' protection. He would've had a blissful childhood with all his needs met and a bright future ahead of him. His life would've been free from worries and hurdles! Not only did you take all of that away from him, but you abused him and nearly killed him. How dare you call yourself his mother?!"

The icy tone in Madeline's voice was cold enough to freeze the soul. "Katrina Pearson, you're the most shameless person I've ever met. Since you have no shame, I'm sure you don't mind being humiliated in public and having someone grinding your face into the ground."

Madeline did as she said. Her foot pressed down even harder on Katrina's face.

Katrina let on an agonizing scream. The pain wasn't the worst thing. It was the utter humiliation that twisted her up inside.

Someone was stepping on her and using the heel of their shoe to grind her face into the ground.

She had never been humiliated like this before in her entire life.

She wanted to fight back, but the pain in her shoulder nearly made her faint.

All Katrina could do was screech out her threats. "Let go of me! Let go! This is intentional assault! I'm going to sue you! The police will throw you in prison! Let go of me!"

"There are no cameras around, so even if you're willing to report this to the police at the cost of your children's future, do you have any evidence to back you up?" Madeline's foot pushed down even

harder. "Just like how you swapped Martin and your daughter back then. There's no proof, so Martin can't sue you. Well, you can't sue me now either."

"What on earth do you want? Let me go! Let me go!" Katrina couldn't take it anymore. She cried out, "I know I made a mistake. I regret what I did. I've been regretting it for a long time, okay? Max divorced me and I don't even have a home now. I've paid for my actions. What else do you want?"
