We went outside the room to look for the person who screamed. I was the last to leave the room and when I closed the door behind me and looked what happened I was quite surprised.

All of the people were at the other side of the hall and it looked like something exploded here. Like some of my experiences with magic. Some desks were destroyed as well as some of the people were injured. When I looked at the centre I could see a strange person with a hood and a fat man standing behind him or her? I don’t know.

Why was the person strange? In my view a normal person would try to hide their mana because it is possible to tell which kind of spell someone would use. For example if I wanted to use a spell of the element of darkness my mana would fuse with it and my enemy would know I which element I wanted to use. This person was leaking a lot of fire mana. It was really odd for me. Another one. Am I gifted in meeting strange people?

Facing those two was a little girl. A human girl. She was lying on the floor and had some light knee injuries as well as some harder ones on her arms. And standing before the little girl was another girl. She probably tried to defend the little one. I tried to identify the defender.

When I realised who she was I was dumbfounded. First I checked if someone was seriously hurt and would need instant treatment. With a lot of luck no one had any worse injuries than the little human girl.

Her only job was to wait here for me. I took the test don’t look at her for one second and she does something stupid again. Even though she got betrayed only a few days ago she didn’t learn anything. The one standing in front of the human girl was none other than Kylie. Now that I think about it she doesn’t have any injuries so she defended against the explosion somehow. I should ask her about it later.

“Is there a problem, sir?”(Rabbit-Woman)

“None of your concern Halfling!”(Fat beastman)

“With all due respect sir. Even if I am not a full beastman I am the person in charge of the adventurer guild branch here right now so I think it is of my concern.”(Rabbit-Woman)

Nice going. Keep it up Rabbit-Woman. I haven’t asked her of her name yet and I won’t because it would only be a bother.

“Shut up. I will tell you what happened. I wanted to make this human girl my slave and she dares to run away. To top it off another Halfling showed up to save that girl. I am really mad right now so get out of my sight now!”(Fat beastman)

He looked at Kylie. I hope he doesn’t die of fatigue because he sweated like hell when he said all of that. I mean I am no good when it comes to talking but I can at least finish 3 sentences without shedding one drop of sweat.

“You are aware that if the little girl is part of this town or part of a farming village that you are not allowed to enslave her.”(Rabbit-Woman)

I think I can learn a lot from her way of speaking.

“Shut up! Shut up! Don’t make me angry even more than this. I checked her she just has a father and they are living in the woods south of this town. There is no problem enslaving her. So get out of my way now.”(Fat beastman)

I knew the races hated each other but to be that extreme was a little too much. Does it feel that good to have a slave? I don’t want to know what he’d do with her. I didn’t want to get involved with this either but Kylie thought other ways.

When I looked at her she had a wide grin on her face. Did she learn that from me? I hope not.

“You want to enslave her? How do you plan on doing this? Do you perhaps know how to enslave someone?(Kylie)

Everyone, including me looked at her. No one had any idea what she wanted do or why it would be important in this kind of situation.

“This is none of your business little girl. Step aside now and I will make this human my slave.”(Fat beastman)

Kylie stopped looking at him. She turned my way and said.

“Do something. Or do you want let your information source for the enslaving process run away.”(Kylie)

She grinned even wider. Wow. I didn’t expect that. I just stood there looking at her. I needed some time to adept to the sudden change of the situation. Now everyone was looking at me. Why did she have to involve me?

But if I compare wins to losses I would gain more wins from this situation so I planned to help.

“So as you heard just now, I would be interested in how you would enslave her so please don’t run away and just tell me. That would make things a lot easier.”(Me)

Again everyone looked at me. I guess no one would expect an 8 year child to say something like that.

“Another human. Today has to be my lucky day. I can increase my number of human slaves from 1 to 3. Go catch them both.”(Fat beastman)

He instructed the person with the robe. I frowned. From my experiences I know that fire is weak against water so it would be best for me to fight with water against that person.

I started chanting silently so no one would hear me. All that was left was to release my enchanted version of [waterball]. I used a little bit of wind magic to spin it so it would deal more damage. That was one of the things I learned while experimenting.

The hooded person made a step forward and attempted to attack.

“Stop it this instant. If any of you go any further you will make yourself an enemy with the adventurer guild. Also I warned you so if you start fighting now I will interfere with it and stop you.”(Rabbit-Woman)

“I prefer not to fight I was just after the information.”(Me)

I said and dispelled my [waterball]. I think they understood that it would not be wise to make yourself an enemy out of a guild only because of one slave.

“By the way. You will pay for what you destroyed here.”(Rabbit-Woman)

She looked really scary when she said that. I have to say they got really lucky because I don’t know what holding back is. Actually I know but I only had one serious fight until now and the result was speaking for itself.

When everything cooled down, Kylie came to me with the human girl.

I somehow knew this kind of situation would come. What awaited me next was obvious and I let out a sigh.

“Please help me.”(Human girl)

Yep totally predicted.
