She looked at me with big eyes. I had to admit that she looked somewhat cute. It didn’t matter though.
“If possible, I’d like you to start from the beginning. So from around where I left the island.”(Me)
“Like I know when that was?”(Lucy)
I forgot that not everyone was the same as me. It would certainly take some time until she was able to remember something.
“Then let’s start with what you remember.”(Me)
“Ever since I can think there was only father, the four demon servants and this island. You were the first people to actually come here.”(Lucy)
I was there too for a short time before though.
“I don’t remember much about father, because he left after a few months. Fire and the others raised me together until two years ago.”(Lucy)
I wanted to scream out “Until two years ago, what happened?”, but she was already having a hard time just talking about that. She would eventually continue on her own, so I kept quiet and listened to her.
“They raised me like they would raise a normal demon. Teaching me magic at the same time I learned walking, telling me about all sorts of important things, so I won’t have a hard time after leaving this island one day. Also there is the pride of demons, they imprinted the thought of me never lowering myself to others and much more they taught me.”(Lucy)
I was surprised to hear about the pride of demons, because every race I came across had a certain amount of pride. Perhaps it was something special. I had only met with a handful of demons, but those didn’t look all that prideful to me.
“As I said until two years ago, they were four. I don’t know what exactly happened and even though Fire always told me it wasn’t my fault, I definitely did something. I mean three of them vanished without saying anything, while the whole inner island became what it looks like now…and…”(Lucy)
I didn’t expect her to become so emotional and start crying in front of me like that. I had a vague idea of what exactly happened, so I was satisfied. After she finished crying, she instantly fell asleep. I didn’t know what to do.
I had no idea, where Fire was, nor where I could lie her down. In the end, I created a stone bed and put her on it. The creation destroyed some parts of the floor of the house, but it was mine anyways.

“Hopefully Fire will tell me the rest of the story. It would be bad if something were to happen to you. I still need you, you know.”(Me)
It’s not like my opinion changed. I would never help someone else, except it would benefit me in some way. That thought even applied for my own sister.
“The more loyal fighters I have on my side the better are my chances of winning.”(Me)
I don’t know when, but I slowly started to see the whole future enemy thing as some kind of game. It was the first time I was doing that kind of thing, but it was certainly not the last.
It was time to train and improve my own skills as well as gather as many allies as possible. All of this only to be able to fight on even grounds later on. I despised losing, so I was extra careful in my preparations to win for sure.
“What should I do now? Lucy fell asleep and the others are probably resting.”(Me)
I was standing in the middle of the hall and was deep in thoughts. I lowered my guard to an extent that I didn’t pay attention to my surroundings.
“Perhaps I can help the young master in that matter.”(Fire)
He came out of nowhere. Perhaps he just went up to me, I didn’t know.
“I would have come to you eventually. I want to know about what happened since I left you. Lucy vaguely told me what happened.”(Me)
“It is better not to talk about it here.”(Fire)
I followed Fire downstairs. I have already checked everything down there. Moreover, I know most of the interior from when I still lived there. Nothing special should be in the cellar, but Fire was going there.
“Where are we going?”(Me)
“You see, while you were gone… no even before that, while you were still with, us the master did some research about the true nature of gods.”(Fire)
“What do you…” (Me)
Before I finished my sentence, Fire pressed some stone and some parts of the wall started moving. After waiting a few seconds, a passage was visible and Fire walked into it.
I had no idea we had something like that. I just followed behind him.
“We have arrived. Even though it now looks like this, this was once the master’s research room.”(Fire)
Even though it was even further down, even this room was completely wretched.
“What happened here?”(Me)
“As I said before, a year after you left, your father left as well. He told me to give you a certain message as soon as you come back to this island.”(Fire)
He predicted my return? There’s no way that he did that. It was probably only a guess. He probably had other ways to send me his message.
“Gather the other gods and prepare for an enemy you won’t be able to defeat on your own.”(Fire)
“That was…”(Me)
He only made a pause and continued.
“He also said something about a weapon, but I have no idea what he could have meant with that or where it could be located.”(Fire)
“No way…”(Me)
I had a really bad thought.
“Is something the matter young master?”(Fire)
“You searched the house for the weapon right?”(Me)
“Yes.”(Fire)
“Then he took it with him and he wants me to find him.”(Me)
“Why would the master…”(Fire)
“It’s my father we are talking about.”(Me)
“That’s…”(Fire)
I didn’t know what I should think about him anymore. On one side he seemed like a fool to me, on the other his actions carry hidden meanings. There could be a reason why he wanted me to find that weapon.
“What about the rest? What happened two years ago?”(Me)
“Yes. That day, the ground started shaking. We don’t know why, but the island suddenly expand, so I went to check it.”(Fire)
It expanded on its own, which means something like a core had to be somewhere accumulating mana over the years.
“So when I went over the mountain range, the earth started rumbling once again. When I went back, it was already too late.”(Fire)
“If I’m not wrong my sister is the cause of this?”(Me)
“I don’t know for sure. All I can tell is that she acted the same way as when she was born and yes. When I came back she killed the other three before my eyes.”(Fire)
“And you have kept quiet not to burden her even more.”(Me)
“Yes.”(Fire)
All that information was still new. I couldn’t put the pieces together yet, but I knew for sure that most of what Kylie said was true, if even my father said that I won’t be able to beat my enemy alone.
If we wanted to win, we first had to find Spirit. We also had to clear all grudges between us, so that they wouldn’t be used against us. I was extremely careful to make as less mistakes as possible.
