He came running at me in a straight line while shouting. He was fast and before Sarah could even turn around and attempt to run away to avoid getting in my way, he was right in front of me. In the next instant his right fist was coming at me. He didn’t hide anything and with all the strength he had, he aimed for my face.

I defended and caught his fist with my right hand. I wanted to act cool and laugh at him while easily defending, but he was too fast and slipped away from me again. He probably couldn’t believe that I was able to defend against his punch, so he distanced himself a bit to think about his next move.

“Sarah go for the exit while I keep him busy. Hide somewhere and wait for me. I don’t think it will take that long, though.”(Me)

I told her in a calm voice. The hooded guy wasn’t the only 1 surprised. With a face that clearly showed that she hadn’t fully understood how I was able to react at such a fast speed, she headed towards the gate to leave this town.

“I told you before you will both die here!”(Hooded person)

At the same speed he charged at me before he went and attacked the girl. He attempted another punch, but it was stopped again. I blocked it again by catching his flying fist. All in all Sarah was unharmed, except she could feel the shock behind his punches. They were by no means weak. I cheated a bit by reinforcing myself with multiple spells, otherwise I would never be able to block them so easily.

Sarah understood my meaning and continued to head for the exit. Because I blocked both of his punches with ease and had yet to attack him, the hooded person got a little bit nervous. He was aware of the fact that if it would continue like that, we would both escape unharmed, or it could even lead to his defeat.

“I told you, you are definitely not stronger than me.”(Me)

“Perhaps not in this form. You leave me no other choice then.”(Hooded person)

The ground started rumbling and a black aura surrounded him. It’s similar to me when I go into [dark form]. The only difference was, that the ominous feeling you got from him wasn’t as strong as mine.

His clothes were ripped apart and his body grew. He reached a height of 3 metres and had a muscular body. He still looked exactly like a human. Except, he was 3 metres tall and had 2 black horns on his forehead.

It took him quite long to transform and he only finished after a whole second. If his opponent wasn’t me, he would have been attacked before finishing his transformation. It was probably for his coolness again, or something like that.

“Interesting. The demons attacked. I wonder what reason you guys have.”(Me)

Even if the running Sarah stopped, watched and shook in fear even more than before his transformation, I wasn’t faced at all by him.

“Prepare to die human!”(Demon)

“Hmm?”(Me)

“What is your problem?! Every normal and sane person would be scared or at least admit that an enemy stands in front of them. Why haven’t you even shown interest in me?”(Demon)

He didn’t attack me, but asked me a question instead as soon as he finished.

“You are wrong in 2 ways.”(Me)

He looked puzzled, so I decided to explain it to him.

“I am certainly interested in the fact that you, as a demon, is here and is attacking humans.”(Me)

“Despite knowing that you still don’t fear me?”(Demon)

“Not really. The reason for that is the 2nd part you are wrong with.”(Me)

“Which is?”(Demon)

“You really are funny. Why the fuck should I tell you?”(Me)

Silence.

Anger overcame him. In his demon form he didn’t have any shackles to bind his power, so he let his mana leak out, which meant he won’t hold back. It surrounded his body and I could see a dark aura, like in his transformation, but this time permanent.

In a book I read that every race had a speciality. For example, a dragon’s scale was known to have the highest defence and durability out of all materials. Beasts or beastmen were known for their advantage in speed. For demons it was their control and affinity for magic.

So, he leaking all his mana was the same as, he displaying me all he got. In my opinion it’s a stupid move. I wasn’t sure if it was an accomplishment or a sad thing, but I had to say, he was weak. Because of his strength, I thought that he could really become a foe, but when I felt his mana capacity, I was disappointed.

Without going overboard, I would have compared him with Sepp. But that demon was an adult, while Sepp was still a child.

“Sigh. You finished?”(Me)

“Not yet!”(Demon)

A blue circle consisting out of mana appeared on the ground. It was like a rune, just a lot bigger and with a completely different ability. It looked exactly like my summoning circle, and out of habit, I expected something to come out.

“Behold the special magic of us demons. Summoning circle!”(Demon)

“I beg you. Stop telling me all your cards, you leave me with no fun of guessing.”(Me)

3 beasts at a size of 5 metres appeared in the summoning circle, out of thin air.

“They are my strongest fighters. Attack him!”(Demon)

Silence. Nothing happened. Like the other beasts before, they were just looking at me and didn’t attack.

“Attack I said!”(Demon)

They didn’t move an inch.

“Why won’t you attack him?!”(Demon)

He was furious.

Hmm. Could this be instinct? Because their brain isn’t that well developed they still depend a lot on their instincts and it’s telling them I am dangerous. Is that it?

“Your pets seem to be afraid of me.”(Me)

“What are pets?”(Demon)

“Never mind that. I think I know the reason why they won’t attack me. It’s you’re your 2nd mistake.”(Me)

“Which is?”(Demon)

“Haven’t you learned your lesson yet? I’m still not telling you.”(Me)

He completely lost his mind and came at me like he himself was a wild beast.

“Grrraaaaa!”(Demon)

From 1 second to the other, I went into [Dark form] and this time I was the 1 who presented his mana. I only leaked a bit though. But it was already more than enough to frighten everyone who saw me. I didn’t look like a human anymore, more like a nightmare, which came to haunt even demons and kill everything around.

“The answer is simple. I am a lot stronger than you guys.”(Me)
