Chapter 27 Destruction

Chapter 27 Destruction

I said that, but not with the normal voice of a child. I had a much deeper and threatening voice now because most of my flesh was missing which affected it.

My voice frightened them that some humans which surrounded us lost the strength of their legs. Rose just noticed that her talisman was gone and wanted to run away. The others who saw everything did the same while shouting. No one was even trying to get to the nearest tunnel because they would have to pass me. The only person who stayed was James.

If he couldn’t move because of fright or if he just wanted to fight me I didn’t know. But then again, I didn’t care what he wanted.

“Run away, abandon the mission and start running if you want to live!”

The mages who were focused on the ritual were confused. They didn’t know what happened yet, or why everyone was running to the exits.

The cave started to rumble. My rage was building up more and more. The more bloodlust I built up, the more energy I was leaking. My mind was broken and I all I was able to do while building up strength was laughing. I laughed and kept laughing.

Death is indeed something satisfying.

When my energy was so dense, that everything around me was black, it exploded and spread throughout the room. Only few people were able to leave it when that happened. Unfortunately Matt, Rose and James’s companion were also able to escape.

The others who weren’t lucky enough, got caught up in the explosion. It was like a bomb, the only difference, there was no fire. It was switched out with black energy. When that energy touched someone, all his life force would be absorbed by it and he would die instantly, which boosted the attack even further.

When the energy reached the tunnels, before it could enter them, the sword everyone came for, shined brightly and energy got send to those exits, as well as the whole room. The energy got repelled by it and was flying back at me.

It directly hit my body but there was no damage done to it. The reverse happened. The life force which got absorbed from the humans, was now flowing inside my body. In addition to my own mana, I now had the energy of hundreds of humans. I could clearly feel that I became stronger, but that didn’t change my goal of killing every last person on this island.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

With great power comes responsibility. The price I had to pay was that I was temporary hearing the last words of the souls of the deceased humans. At first they were rather silent complaints like they died too early but when I noticed that some people escaped for now, while others were fighting outside, I got angry again and they screamed throughout my mind.

“Kill them! Don’t let them escape! Revenge!”(Voices)

Hearing the voices of deceased humans made me go crazy. My anger build up the more they were shouting. I couldn’t concentrate on anything anymore.

“Shut up, this is my revenge if someone gets in my way I will make sure that you will wish that you could rather go to hell!”(Me)

The shout echoed through the whole cave and probably everyone inside could hear it. Afterwards I leaked my anger and bloodlust until the annoying voices finally shut up.

I needed to kill but they would be able to escape my grasp soon. I needed an attack that could instantly kill everyone on this island if I want to get everyone. I had a really good idea how I could achieve that. I didn’t run after them and killed everyone I saw on sight. I did the opposite, I turned and went to the formation of the sword.

If you are able to repel me you should also be able to boost my attacks, right?

I thought and came into contact with the defensive formation which was almost broken through before. My body felt heavy, and the gravitation got more and more as I moved closer to the sword. I was barely able to move forward and when I was only 5 a barrier obstructed my way.

I knew the more time I needed for this, the more time those bastards had to escape. When I thought that Rose would be able to escape, anger filled me again. Those other bastards who were responsible for Kylie’s death, who even made fun of her after her death. I would never forgive them.

I came so far, now I have the chance to kill them. As if this puny formation could obstruct me!

With my tattered body, I fought strength with strength, power with power, energy with energy. I shouted loud and fought against the barrier. I gave it my all I needed this attack to succeed because I wouldn’t get a second chance.

Because of this struggle, a lot of energy got accumulated over the minutes. It was multiple times more than before. I put everything, all my feelings I had for Kylie in that attack, I couldn’t afford to let anyone escape. I could never forgive myself if I did that.

In the end, the explosion occurred. With a speed normal eyes could never see the energy dispersed. I gave all I had and my body gave in and fell to the ground. I could barely feel how far my attack could reach.

When I closed my eyes and focused on my attack, I felt like my eyes could see where it passed by in slow motion. It went through the tunnels, reaching the exit in a matter of seconds. It only passed some of the slower humans, while a lot have already escaped. The energy couldn’t leave the cave through the stones consisting Clentanium, so all that energy went for the path we came in. When it reached the outside I somehow managed to form it into a ball and guide it to the peak of the mountain. I would let it explode there again, with this I would be able to reach everything on this island. I would be able to kill everyone with one large scale attack.

More and more dark energy left the gate and moved towards the ball. It got bigger and bigger. I was really excited, soon I would be able to get my revenge. Suddenly, the mountain started vibrating. I focused my consciousness back to my body and saw that the sword was shining again.

I have to hurry!

I focused back outside and commanded the remaining energy to fuse with the bomb as fast as possible. In the end it reached a size, where it could be seen from all over the island. Everyone who saw it was looking or pointing in its direction. All filled with nothing but fear. The end was near. I would have really loved to see everyone die, but I wasn’t able to. I was mentally exhausted and my consciousness faded away after giving the last command.

Kill!
