“It can use earth and fire magic?”, mage says amazed and concerned. Suddenly there was a massive THUD right next to Ray.
“Another unique monster?”, the archer said dumb founded.
“Did you jump all the way down here?”
“Yep, so what's the situation. I was about to take a nap.”, Ken asks yawning
“show off, you see these people... we’re gonna kill em.”. Ken looks at Ray as if he had lost his mind.
“Aren’t they human though? Thought you didn’t want to kill humans?”
“No, these are human scum who deserve to die, the only people who shouldn’t die are those who aren’t involved in the conflict like civilians, however those who commit such acts of evil should perish.”, Ray replied seriously. Ray truly felt this way, even in his old world, he thought those who were evil should die, he also didn’t mourn those who died in conflicts much, after all it was an agreement from both sides, however hearing about the civilian deaths were the things that would make him sad.
“Oh well, this is good for me, I want that guys axe, it looks more powerful than mine.”.
“Hey, stop ignoring us you damn monsters.”, The axe wielder said slamming his axe hard into the ground, clearly trying to intimidate them.
“You can take the axe man and his woman; I’ll deal with the archer and male mage.”.
“Right.”, Ken said smiling, excited for a challenge at last.
“Don’t underestimate them, they’ve survived this floor for a reason.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know.”. Ray was currently level 35 and Ken was about 32, they had probably killed around 27 wolves each, yet they had managed to gain about 4 levels, which was a great improvement from the first floor, however that wouldn’t compare to the exp they’d gain from adventures able to survive the second floor, they may even evolve straight away. Ray rushes towards the man wielding the axe who slammed it down towards Ray with a mighty shout, however, he wasn’t Rays target, he swerved the man's attack and rushed towards the two back liners. To the left, the archer seeing Ray rushing towards them jumped backwards, a shot lined up on Ray, his bow and arrow glowing, he was about to use a skill.
“O’ great flame I summon...”, chanted the mage, if Ray wasn’t fast, he would be hit from both sides which could result in severe damage or worse, death.
“Piercing shot.”.
“Fire bolt.”.
The shots fired towards Ray, who had crouched down hand to the floor, a wall sprung from the ground, blocking their attacks, Ray could easily handle one of them on their own but with both of them, where they could cover each other's backs, may be difficult, he needed to isolate them.
“That coward hiding.”, the archer laughed, his bow drawn ready to shoot.
“Don’t underestimate it.”, the mage said cautiously. And he was right, at that moment, Ray had rolled out to the left towards the archer, with his quick reflexes the archer had managed to track his movements and fire at Ray, but he was prepared, his sword was engulfed in flames as he sliced the arrow out of the air.
“...I summon Fire blast”, the mage had also reacted, shooting a fire blast at Ray, Ray flung out his arm, “Fire blast.”, however it wasn’t aimed at the mage or the archer, no it was aimed at the spell itself. As the 2 balls of fire connected, there was allowed BOOM as they both exploded on impact, creating a smoke screen blocking Ray from the mages vision.
“Damn! I can't see them.”, the mage shouted as smoke began to rush towards him, blocking his vision and causing him to cough.
Meanwhile, Ray was lying on the floor, he had dived as he shot back his blast just in case he missed, just before the smoke covered his vision, he spotted the archer, “Stone prison, threefold.”, the archer had been trapped in a three layered stone prison, with no easy way to escape, it would take him ages to break down the walls and by that time, it would be a 1 on 1 match.
“DON... DON!”, the mage shouted. Suddenly, a silhouette can be made out in the smoke, walking towards him, the mage, assuming it was his alley walked forwards when an arrow of flames whizzed past his head.
“Damn, looks like I missed. But the next shot I won’t.”, Ray said as he emerged from the smoke.
“Y-you... But, where's Don?”, the mage asked, worry clear in his face.
“Don, was it? The archer? he’s not of this world anymore.”, Ray said mercilessly.
“No... this can’t be, you can’t have beat him in a fear match, you cheated, YOU MUST HAVE CHEATED.”
“Cheated? There's no such thing as cheating when it comes to a battle.”.
“You did all this for damned Demi-humans? We haven’t done anything wrong; slavery of all Demi-human races is legal ordered from the King, Beast men, Elves and Dwarves. Thats been legal for 10 years god damn it.”.
Ray stood there frozen... legal for 10 years? No way that can’t be right, the king legalised it himself. What the hell had happened 10 years ago to cause this, Ray had wanted to become human badly... but if he was to become one of them, if he was to be classed as one of these monsters. “I’d rather die.”, Ray thought. Suddenly a familiar voice sounded in his head and his surroundings go white.
“In the conflict between Humans and Demi-humans, which side are you on? Your answer holds weight so answer carefully.”.
“Is what they said true, did the king truly legalise slavery? Have they truly been capturing, enslaving and killing Demi-humans for 10 years now.”.
“Yes.”.
“Then of course I will side with the Demi-humans of this world, I will happily cast aside my ties to humanity.”.
“This action has been noted. Evolutionary path skeleton has been erased. The evolutionary paths from your potential second evolution: zombie, have also been changed, the human, vampire and giant routes have been erased. If you do not choose the skeleton route, you will progress down the Demi Human route, new options are available, Dwarf, Elf or Beats-man.”.

Suddenly, Ray snaps back to reality, he clutches his head, “what was that?”, Ray thought, “did I just edit my evolutions?”.
“O’ great flame I summon Fire bolt, eightfold.”.
“Eightfold?”, Ray thinks shocked.
The Mage points his wooden staff at Ray, his nose bleeding, an arrow of fire shoots at ray who dives out of the way, however the next arrow was already flying towards him, however he parried it with a quick slash, Ray proceeds to dodge and parry the remaining 6 attacks, with minimal difficulty. The mage bends over clutching at his staff, sweating bullets, it was clear that last attack had taken it out of him, his anger had clouded his judgement and he had made a rookie mistake of wasting his mana, Ray began to walk over to Ray.
“I’m not done yet GOD DAMNIT!” he screamed as he pointed his staff at Ray who stepped back.
“Intermediate magic, something you could never hope to achieve you lowly MONSTER, O’ great flame I summon...”, he drew a circle in the air with flames, “FLAME THROWER!!”, he thrust his staff at the centre of circle and a flaming vortex erupted towards Ray, Ray was half shocked, half impressed as he touched the ground, “Earth wall, fifth-fold.”, 5 stone walls rocketed out of the floor, they were each 5 meters tall, 5 meters wide and 1 meter thick. “Although it was a basic spell, this should be able to block an intermediate spell, right?”, Ray thought to himself.
The vortex of flame rushed forwards easily shattering the first, second, third and fourth walls, the speed and forces progressively slowing down, however, when the vortex of flame broke through the fifth wall, Ray had realised he may have underestimated the force of the blast as the flames engulfed him. As the flames dispersed, the mage could be heard laughing maniacally. “I did it, I avenged you Don, I killed the unique skeleton.”, tears dripping down his face, his face twisted in a psychopathic smile, he looked up and his eyes widened.
“Killed who?”, Ray asked, he was currently 6 meters in the air and falling. His tunic, shirt and trousers had all been burnt to ash, leaving him in nothing but a red Scalf, boots and gloves, Ray was confused how they had remained but no matter.
“How did you survive?”. He pants.
Ray lands on the remains of one of his walls, “As the flames engulfed me, I used rushing winds to push myself upwards out of the flames, unfortunately it took most of my clothes though.”.
“Flame thrower, that was a cool attack, and it was intermediate magic? I wonder if I can do that too with only basic elemental magic unlocked
“you can learn intermediate magic once you’ve learnt all the spells for that element.”, the familiar voice in his head said.
“I see, but haven’t I already learned all the basic flame spells: fire ball, fire bolt and fire blast and fire wall?”. Ray thought, the book was quite small, especially the part on fire magic, it only had like 4 basic spells whereas the others had quite a few.”.
“Let's see, learning: intermediate understanding of fire magic, loading... loading... successful. The process had taken time to process due to it separating the; basic understanding of elemental magic into its 4 elements.”
“Nice, now how did he do that vortex thing.”, ray said as he drew a circle with his fist and punched the center, whilst simultaneously thinking “Flame thrower.”, a small vortex of flame erupted from his knuckles.
“Guess it’s not that easy, I’ll have to practice it more.”, Ray thought, suddenly the laughing of the mage could be heard, he was clearly mocking Ray for his inability to cast flame thrower and so, fed up with this weirdo mage, he threw his fire sword at him, piercing his heart, killing him. Ray cracked his knuckles as the alert informing him that he had reached level 40, “Damn 5 levels from that guy alone? Well I shouldn't be too surprised, he was actually a decent mage, if he had paced himself properly the battle could have had a small chance at winning.”, Ray though as he turned to see stone prison, which had quite the decent sized hole in it now, enough to let a toddler through, “Now it's time to collect my next victim.”. As Ray walked over to the stone pyramid, he glanced over towards Ken, who was still battling the leader of the party intensely. As Ray scanned the battlefield, could see the woman, dead on the ground, “that was sure to upset the man and send him into a frenzy.”, Ray thought justly, this conflict should be over soon. Ray stops a few meters away from the stone prison and ponders how to handle this archer, should he give him a fair fight or just blow him up in the stone prison. After deliberating for a while Ray decided that they didn’t deserve mercy, after all, they were human scum, Ray walked over to the hole that the archer had made and slowly peered in, he saw the glowing of magic and immediately ducked out of the way.
“Let me out you dirty-.”, the archer started throwing out all kinds of curses and obscenities at Ray, half of them he had never even heard before, quickly getting bored of this, Ray gets a distance away and sends a stream of 3 fire blasts into the hole, there was a scream of pain and agony and then. It was silent.
“You have levelled up to level 43.”.
“I got less for that one? Well, my level is higher now so it would do less, but not far to go now.”, Ray says excitedly, he then thinks about what path he should choose Beats-man, Elf or dwarf.
“Well let's be honest I'm not gonna pick dwarf am I, and aren't elves blue with white hair in Evoden? With my unique monster genes I'd probably be red with black hair, I’d either be outcasted or treated as a monster... Beast-man is the best option, their senses are all heightened and they are physically stronger than the other 2 options, I’d also get access to beast-man Kung-Fu.”.
Ray turns to look at Ken who had just decapitated the leader with his own Axe, “brutal.”, Ray thought, ignoring what he had just done himself.
