Claire and Ray fall to the ground panting, having exhausted a lot of stamina in the fight, Salamander curling up on Rays lap and snuggling.

Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded in his head, alerting him that he had levelled up to level 213 and had also evolved. As the alert sounded, Ray felt a burst of new power and energy within him. And even though Ray couldn’t see it right now. A red tattoo had appeared on his back between his 2 shoulder blades, in the shape of a flame.

“You have evolved into a superior beast-man model ‘wolf king’. New abilities obtained. Canine language learnt, canine language understanding learnt, full beast transformation learnt. New title unlocked “the scarlet wolf that burns”.”.

“Full beast transformation? The scarlet wolf that burns? Does that mean I’ll be able to become a wolf? And use my flame powers with it?”, Ray pondered to himself. If so, that was cool and he wanted to test it out right away, though there was a time and a place for that and right now, they needed to relay their success.

Above them, the lightning dragon darts around excitedly. It had been a long time since he had experienced something so exciting, and if being with these people would bring him a lot more of this, he wanted to join in. And so, the lightning dragons darts towards Claire and pushes his forehead to Claires.

“That was a lot of fun. If being with you guys means I get to have more fun, I’ll join you. My names Bolt”, the lightning dragon said, projecting his voice into Claires head.

He then shoots a stream of lightning into the sky, causing thunder and lightning to erupt out of the clouds all around them.

Suddenly Ceasar and Alex appear.

“We’re here to he- where's the demon?”, Alex asks looking around confused.

Ray points over to the dead body of Conquest, “Dead.”.

“OH... well then. Guess we should all head back then.”, Alex says slightly dejected.

The following few days went by in a blur.

After a long meeting about the battle and everything they had managed to learn, Mary finally informed the citizens on the events that have been taking place recently about the existence of demons, how they had been controlling the human nations to commit despicable acts and that demons have infiltrated this world, everything was finally out in the open and public knowledge. There was a brief panic, however after learning that they were successfully able to fend off an all-out demon attack with minimal casualties, the citizens began to calm down. There was also an award ceremony that thanked everyone who had participated in the efforts against the demons and to honour the fallen soldiers that lost their leaves to protect their home. They were all awarded prizes of gold coins and a medal of honour, for those that passed, the rewards were given to their families and a condolence.

A special thanks was also given to Ray and Claire for going up against the strongest threat there, the general of the army and defeating him. Because of that, they had been given a greater reward, and on top of that, they had received fame and recognition by the entire city, they were kind of celebrities now, everyone loved them both.... well except for that bastard guard who looked livid.

And in the blink of an eye an entire week went by and a very important event was on the horizon.

“Hey... Hey Ray come here.”, Luke whispered as he beckoned from the conference room.

“Huh... oh hey Luke w-”, Ray began to say as he was frivolously shushed and beckoned to come in by Luke.

As Ray entered the room, he was met by everyone except for Lilly, who was apparently out shopping with a group of maids, that were actually acting as a distraction.

“Alright, so, in 2 days a very important event will occur, has everyone got their gifts ready, is everyone prepared. The party will be held at 6, so make sure your all ready, dressed and presentable.”, Luke said eagerly, everyone else nodding in understanding... except for Ray.

“W-wait... what are you talking about?”, Ray asked confused.

The group looked at him in shock.

“Lilly’s 18th birthday?”, Mary said confused.

There was a breath silence where everyone stared at Ray and Ray stared back at them. Then his eyes bulged and flames spat from his mouth as he shouted in shock.

“HER BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!”, Ray roared.

“Yeah, big bro, did you hit you head too many times during your battles, or was your brain stored in your hair that was burnt off.”, Leo said.

“No one told me when her birthday was, not even her...”, Ray said head in his hands, Leo face down in the ground with a massive bump on his head.

“We assumed you knew... You know considering how close you 2 are.”, Anna said.

“You going to be alright, you have a day to find a gift.”, Claire states.

Ray sits there for a few more seconds before standing up quickly.

“I’ve got no time to be sitting here contemplating, I need to get browsing.”, Ray says panicked as he stands up and darts out of the room.

“Is he going to be... alright?”, Grey asks Claire.

“Yeah, he’ll be fine. After all, Lilly will love anything he gets her, even if it was a random flower that he picked on the side of the road.”, Claire stated, the others nodding in agreement.
