“I’ll let you handle the boss like agreed on, I’ll take on the little ones, think you can handle it?”, Ray asked Lilly as they stood back to back
“Yeah, it may be stronger than me, its auras presence is quite intense, but I'll win!”,
“That's why I like to hear.”, Ray says smiling, “Let's do this.”.
“Yeah.”, Lilly turns to the giant wolf and points her bow and arrow at the wolfs head, The arrow glowing green with her mana “Piercing shot.”, she fires her arrow towards the Wolfs head, who howls, disrupting the arrows path causing her to miss.
“I see, so A basic skill won’t damage you huh? Ok guess I'll have to level it up.”, at this the horde of wolves charged.
“Focus on the big one, I’ve got your back.”, Ray says as he slices through a wolf. “Let the target practice begin.”, he says eagerly.
Ray creates a football sized ball of flame in his hand, as he throws it, BANG, the ball immediately burst into a barrage of flames in the shapes of arrows, that zig zag and strike through their targets, “Scatter shot, that's 11.”.
Meanwhile, Lilly is just narrowly dodging and weaving a flurry of swipes and bites from the giant wolf, whilst simultaneously pelting it with arrows, she lines up her next shot when a smaller wolf jumps at her, however she does not flinch, suddenly a ball of flame comes flying by killing it.
“Multi-shot.”, her arrow is engulfed in green mana and as she fires several arrows of mana appear along with it, peppering the wolf, who snarls back in anger.
Ray focuses and engulfs his arm and sword in flame aura, as a pack of wolves close in on him, he slashes, sending a wave of fire that burns slices through them, “24, if I only activates small parts of my body with flame aura, I can boost that concentrated power whilst also conserving energy, though it reduces my defense.”.
Another pack of wolves appears behind him, baring their fangs and claws at him in the hopes of taking him down, but with a quick slash, they to meet their demise. “30.”.
Lilly dodges a deadly bite from the wolf and uses his head as a lunch pad to propel her into the air, she closes her left eye, her arrow and right eye are engulfed in mana “Snipe.”, the arrow rockets out, leaving a small shockwave in its place, the arrow wizzes down and pierces straight through the Giant wolfs left eye. It howls and whimpers in pain, it looks up at the descending Lilly an lets out a devastating Howl which rattles Lillys, brain causing her to miss her landing and fall to the ground. The wolf charges at her, when suddenly, a wolf comes flying and smashes into the wolf, causing it to wobble of balance, its attention moves to Ray who had another wolf by the cusp of the neck which he also lobs at the Giant wolf.
“Are you ok? Can you still fight?”, Ray asks Lilly.
She gets to her feet bow in hand determination in her eyes, Ray smiles.
“Those were, 42 and 43” Ray thinks as he turns his attention to the remaining wolves, “I’m getting tired of you small fry now, let's go all out.”, Rays whole body is engulfed in his flame aura, he can only keep this up for about 5 minutes, 2 minutes if he goes overboard and manipulates fire whilst using it, but this won’t even take one minute. Ray charges at the remaining wolves and begins his assault. He bolts towards the wolves, slicing through them like a knife through butter, “44...49...50...53...59...65...70.”. Ray was unstoppable and the wolves stood no chance against him and his blade, they were simply lambs to the slaughter. Part of him felt bad, they were clearly the monsters in this situation, they had broken into their homes and started killing them, but it had to be done, Ray had an uneasy feeling that life in this world will become increasingly difficult and these monsters, however small, will add up to his strength in the long run and allow him to persevere.
The wolf stood before Lilly panting and limping, Lilly, who had been known as a prodigy archer in the northern beast tribe, had aimed for the wolfs weak spots like its eye and joints and it was struggling, it was on its last legs. However, Lilly was also running out of energy, she had used a lot of skills and was running out of mana, this wolf was tough, but she expected that, she knew it was stronger than her by a decent amount, but she was determined, she wanted to prove that although she was a princess who lived a cosy life that she was a warrior too, that she could fight and become one of the greats, to prove that she hadn’t lost her determination after being captured, to not fall behind those around her, to be a strong alley. She had 1 arrow remaining, she was going to take it out no matter what.

In this world, the skill level goes as followed. Skill level goes, basic > intermediate > skilled > advanced > master > kingly > emperor. Lilly at the age of 10 had mastered basic archery skills, at the age of 13 she had passed intermediate and was a skilled level archer at the young age of 15, she truly is special. And now, at the age of 17, she had learnt one advanced spell, it was only to be used in dyer situations and now was the perfect time.
She pulled back the string of her bow, “advanced archery: Giant arrow.”, her mana exploded around the arrow forming a giant arrow of mana, her legs began to shake, this would cause her to go into a mana depletion, but it had to be done, she stood firm and released the arrow, it ZOOMED, forward, creating multiple shock waves in its place. The wolf let out a final Mighty howl, but it stood no chance, the arrow struck its target head on, the arrow pierced straight through it and slammed into the cave wall, shaking the entire place, rocks falling from the ceiling. Lilly stood there, body shaking, vision fading, she slowly raised her arm in victory and fell backwards. “100.”, Lilly expected to hit the floor, but that never happened, as she forced her eyes open, she saw a glimpse of unnaturally red curly, shoulder length hair, she smiled and slipped into unconsciousness.
“You did well.”, Ray said, he hoisted her onto his back, and exited the cave. He was happy, through that he had managed to level up to level 73, not too bad for the grunt work
Lilly slowly opens her eyes and looks around.
“So, your finally awake? Took your sweet time princess.”, Ray says playfully.
“Where are we... also don’t call me princess.”. she asks confused
“we’re in a cave, you’ve been out cold for like an hour, we’re all ready to leave, just waiting on you. Kens taken the kids on ahead. They’re really excited to get out of this dungeon. Can you stand?”. Ray extends a hand, which Lilly takes.
“Don’t push yourself too hard, you exhausted yourself in that last battle.”.
“I’m fine, really. Le-”, as she said this her legs felt weak, and she began to fall as Ray caught her
“...You know what... I’ll just carry you.”, Ray scoops her up into princess carry, her face immediately going bright red.
“hmm? What's wrong?”, Ray asks obliviously.
“I-I know I'm a princess, but you don’t have to carry me like one.”.
Clocking onto it, Rays face also goes beet red, he plops her down, bends his knees and she jumps onto his back.
“This is better.”, Lilly says comfortably, smiling. However, Ray on the other hand, was struggling to keep his composure, “her legs are soft and plump, and I can feel her boo-”, Ray mentally slapped himself in the face as he walked, after all he wasn’t some kind of pervert... As they walked and talked, mainly Ray complimenting her on her performance, and her ego gradually overflowing, they catch up to the other group and after a few moments' pf the boy's making fun of Ray for having to carry the princess and the girls looking at her, thumbs up, the group continue their long trip towards the staircase that will lead them to the first floor, it took them about a day to reach the entrance, due to the kids getting tired and the group needing to eat, luckily there were still a few wild wolves about. They stared at the long staircase journey up, it would take longer to go up then down, and began the ascension up the stairs.
As they reach the floor, they walk down some very memorable tunnels.
“Man, these tunnels are kind of nostalgic.”, Ray says allowed
“right, the last time we were up here you were a skeleton unable to talk and I was still a goblin.”, ken says.
“Wanna visit your old home again.”, Ray says smiling.
“After what you did to it? Nah it stinks of blood and is littered with dead bodies.”. Ken laughs.
“Wait what happened?”. Lilly and the others ask, and so Ken and Ray tell them the tail of Ray finding the goblin nest, killing all the goblins and then defeating Ken.
“that's barbaric and Ken, he killed a bunch of your kind and you're laughing.”, Lilly replies exasperatedly.
“Nah they were chumps. Smelly, weak and lazy.”.
“That's for sure, those little bastards are on par with humans I'll tell you that.”.
Lilly sighs, they walk through the tunnels, following the old markings Ray had left on the walls and they see the bright lights of the outside world. And as they approach the entrance of the dungeon, Ray takes one last look back, at where it all began in this world and takes a step forward, to a new adventure.
