As the group walk through the forest, they are surprised that they hadn’t encountered any monsters yet, they had probably been walking for about an hour and yet they still hadn’t seen any sign of life.
“This is pretty odd.”, Alex states, since the tall tried blocked out most of the sun's lights, sending occasional beams of light that crept through the gaps in the leaves, Alex had vacated his hiding spot and joined the group through the jungle
“This jungle is built to throw people of guard and the monsters are surprisingly intelligent, they lure you into a false security and then pounce on unexpected adventurers. Just keep your baring's around you.”.
The group continues through the jungle, taking small breaks to eat their food, unaware that they are being watched. As the group supposedly let their guards down, they attacked a swarm of 4 giant lizards charge at the group, the kids were shocked as the lizards charged at them however the others had expected this.
Alex’s hair drops, he creates 2 blades of blood and throws them at the lizard's eyes, blinding it and then, with a wave of his hand, spikes of blood shoot out of the ground, spearing the lizard, killing it.
As the lizard charges at Claire, she sticks out her hand, stopping it in its tracks, she grabs its head, kicks it into the air and punches it HARD, sending the lizards flying through the trees. If the impact didn't kill it, it definitely wouldn’t be coming back.
Lilly draws her bow, her eye and arrow glowing, she releases her arrow with great speed and power, the arrow flies and snipes right through its skull. The lizards' legs buckle, and it falls dead to the floor.
As the 4th lizard charges towards the children, hungry for an easy snack, Ray appears before it.
“I’ve been looking for a target to try this move on.”.
He inhales deeply, his lungs filling with fire, he breathes out and a beam of orange flames rushes out of his mouth, blasting a hole right through the lizard's head and through the trees behind it.
“WOAHHHH, WHAT WAS THAT? You breathed fire, but, but it was so fast and strong it looked like a blast of water.”, Leo asks stars of excitement in his eyes.
“Dragon's breath is what I decided to call it.”, Ray says smiling and winking.
“Constantly coming up with new and weird ways to use your powers I see my young pupil.”, Claire says exasperatedly, Lilly laughing at the ‘young pupil’ comment.
“I’m like 2 years younger than you... AND I DON’T KNOW WHY YOUR LAUGHING LITTLE MISS PRINCESS.”, Ray shouted, Alex snickering at the ongoing sitcom.
The group continue to venture through the giant jungle... not too sure on which direction they are or should be heading in. This place was like a serious labyrinth, hell this jungle could be its own dungeon at this rate. They had started to come across more and new monsters as they ventured deeper and deeper, such as venom-hornets, giant wasps that have a poisonous and sharp stinger, which is often harvested to make arrow heads and other weapons. And so, the group had decided to raid a nearby hornet nest, it wasn’t difficult at all, they all possessed attacks that could take down airborne enemies and so they stood no chance. They also came across a group of giant poisonous frogs that had a tongue that was faster than lightning, a tongue that could paralyse you with a single touch and slippery skin that repelled blunt force attacks. Once again however, the group quite easily disposed of them.
As the group continues through the jungle, they make it to a giant clearing in the woods, yet there's no sunlight, as they look up, they can that there is a man-made canopy of leaves and stick, placed above them. Done so to cover the giant gap in the woods from creatures flying about above them. But the question is... who did this? And why? Just the group hear a sound from the trees all around them, as they look up, they see a horde of monkeys, swinging from the vines and trees above them, there had to be about a hundred of them, it is clear, that they had stumbled into a den of war monkeys. Powerful monsters that as they evolve, gain more intelligence, becoming more than just simple monsters, but becoming warriors.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
As the war monkey's swing around them in a sort of hypnotic dance, jeering at them, a monkey descends and lands on the ground before them. It was taller than the rest and the normal monkeys back in his world, the War monkey was about 5 foot 10, an inch taller than Ray, however that wasn’t the most impressive thing about him, His fur was also a crimson red rather than the usual brow, black or grey. On top of his head was a crown, he was clearly the king around here.
“And what brings humans to our humble abode?”, the War monkey asks in Demi-Lang.
The rest of the group seemed shocked that the war monkey could speak, maybe it wasn’t a well-known fact about their increase in intelligence. After all, war monkeys liked to stay hidden, even in the game, it was hard to come across the secret boss fight in the game.
“We’re lost, we’re trying to find the southern beast tribe, though we can’t seem to find it.”, Ray responded.
“I see, yes, you do seem to be Demi-human, though to us you are just simply human.”, The war monkey replies.
It was obvious that the war monkey was a unique monster due to the colour of its fur and at how strong it must be if it was able to speak so fluently.
“My names Ray, what's yours?”.
“Ceaser. Ray, you're an odd one, unlike your... comrades, you seem not to be shocked that I am able to converse with you. Don’t you find that strange?”.
“Not really, I'd argue that my existence in this world is a lot odder than that.”, Ray laughs.
“Intriguing and what could that be.”.
“Well, it's a long story that maybe I could tell you one day... but I guess I can show u this.”, Ray creates a ball of flame in his hands.
“Isn’t that just... magic.”, Ceasar responds, however Ray starts turning the flame into his world's numbers and other shapes. Ceasar is completely and utterly shocked by this display of power.
“Fascinating, this power you possess is one of a kind. Tell me Ray, Are you strong?”.
Ray looks at Ceasar confused, “I guess so, though I still have a long way to go, why?”.
“How about a friendly Exhibition match, If I win, I want you to join me and be a part of my army, your unique power has intrigued me. However, if you win i will personally escort you to your destination and will become one of your alleys and shall be able to call upon me and my armies aid when needed. So, how about it? You are of course free to refuse and leave, though you may not make it to your destination any time soon. This jungle can be very, illusive.”.
Ray smiles, “it seems that Ceasar is trying to alley himself with me by any means necessary, preferably for him to have me underneath his command, yet he doesn’t seem so opposed to working under me... what a mysterious guy.”, Ray thinks to himself
“Alright, sounds fun, so what are the rules of this battle.”
“Hmmm, let's see, how about anything goes, you can use your weapons, I’ll use mine, whoever gives up first or is rendered unconscious loses. Deal?”.
“Alright.”, Ray says, drawing his sword
“Ray, you don’t have to do this, we can find our way easily.”, Lilly says concerned.
“Nah, its fine, this way is quicker and fun. Besides, do you really think I’ll lose?”, Ray says looking at her.
“Well... no but st-.”, Ray put his hand on her head, shutting her up.
As he walks forwards, the kids and Alex cheer him on, as Ray looks at the War monkey, he sees that he is shrouded in what appears to be red and black samurai attire, with 2 katanas strapped to his back and a spear in his hand.
“WHERE THE FUCK DID HE GET ALL THAT FROM!!!”.
