After crafting some new clothes out of beast fur for the 3 new children, the group once again departed on their journey towards the southern beast tribe, however, their first stop, the spiral dungeon. A place that Claire states will allow him to rise and surpass level 100 in just 3 days. It was located at the tip of one of the mountains which had a spiral staircase leading all the way down to the bottom floor, with doors that lead you into the dungeon chambers.

On floor one there are monsters stated to be between level 1 to 20, on the second 20 to 40 all the way to the sixth floor where the monsters are stated to be between level 100 to 120. They will spend 1 day each on floors 4,5 and 6 where Ray will be thrown into the pit of lions with minimal help from Claire, though she will supervise him just encase anything goes wrong. During this time Lilly will watch over the children, on one condition, after Ray, it was her turn to then venture through floors 2,3 and then 4.

Leo and the others had complained stating they wanted to go exploring through the dungeon, however after hearing that they would be able to go hunting for 6 days, they were satisfied.

As they walked up the mountain leading to the spiral dungeon, Ray was excited, there was a new dungeon to explore and hopefully, he will get a lot stronger after coming out of it. As they reached the top the group peered down the massive hole which stretched far beyond the eye could see. It truly was massive.

“Alright, I will be heading down here with Ray, we will come back at the end of the third day. Rest and then I will head down with the princess.”, Claire said to the group.

“You don’t have to call me princess.”, Lilly said exasperatedly.

“Alright Let's do this.”, Ray said eagerly, “This was a mini adventure, a side quest. He was truly living that fantasy lifestyle now.”.

And with that, the pair descended into the spiral dungeon.

As they descended through the staircase to the fourth level, it gave Ray and Claire some time to chat and get to know each other.

“So, what's hero Training like? I’m very curious?”, Ray asked eagerly, stars in his eyes.

“Well, we're not meant to tell people, but I guess telling the legendary hero chosen by the goddess as well as the phoenix’s chosen one, I’ll tell you.”.

Ray smiled, although deep down he felt quite ashamed. After all he had lied about being a chosen hero from the goddess.

They arrived at the second floor and continued onwards.

“The place we trained is like a giant village just for us 5 chosen heroes equipped with everything we may need; it's a village hidden away behind tall mountains and uses an ancient magic camouflaging device. You can only open the door when all 5 heroes summon their weapons and once you enter the door won’t open for 5 years, so you really are being locked away for 5 years, though it doesn’t feel like it, it is by far one of the most luxurious places to ever visit. A true garden of Eden. We had all kinds of instructors that focused on training us how to use our weapons, however it was up to us to then create our own style as no one else had powers like ours. It was truly an amazing time. If I could go back and ne with everyone again I would.”. she finished quite depressingly.

“Sounds like it was a very memorable and exciting time for you.”.

“It was, I went from living on the streets to a chosen hero, I made friends that were like family, and I had a goal. But that was all taken away from me in the blink of an eye. Those... Demons were ruthless and barbaric. I will get my revenge and save humanity.”, She turned to Ray, “I’m glad I met you and Lilly. I can feel that you will help change my dreams into a reality.”.

“Don’t worry, I want to beat that Demon just as bad as you do.”.

They passed the third floor.

“I see, to save the Demi-humans. You truly are a hero, Ray; you gave up on living the easy life in this runed world and chose the hard yet right path. I'm glad to call you, my pupil.”.

Ray smiled once again, that was true, but there was also another reason. If this was the demon who brought him to this world. Then he had to beat this demon. That was the whole point of him coming here and once he did, he could go home... though... he didn’t entirely know yet whether he wanted to.

“I’m glad to have you as my master too. A beautiful badass who happens to be the sword princess. Lucky me.”. Ray had spoken without thinking and hadn’t realised what he had said until he saw Claires face go ever so slightly red.

“Ehem. Well Ray, I’d like to hear a bit more about you. How did you meet Lilly and the others if you were reincarnated as a monster?”.

And so, Ray told Claire his entire story from when he woke up in the dungeon until he met her. She was a great listener and asked some very good questions. They were enjoying themselves so much talking. That they had hardly realised they had made it to the fourth floor.

“Alright Ray, are you ready? All the monsters from here on out will be levels 60-80.you’ll spend a full day in here before moving on to the next floor.”, she said as she pulled out a small hourglass that had “24hrs” written on it in human.

“Let's do this!”. Ray said as he began to stretch.

As they opened the door to the fourth floor, they realised they were on a small ledge that led to a massive drop. As ray stared into the abyss, he heard a strange sound... the sound of constant moving and hissing.

“The fourth floor, the snakes burrow. Home to thousands of giant snakes, scales as tough as rocks, a venomous bite and the power to crush boulders. Are you ready for the first floor? Our goal is to get you closer to my level of 350, so go all out. you ready to go?”.

“Yeah I am.”, Ray says eagerly as he engulfs his right arm, which was carrying his sword, in flame aura.

“Wish me luck!”, he says as he jumps down into the den of snakes.

As Ray lands on the back of one of the snakes, his arm and sword illuminating the nearby area, he notices a pair of beady eyes peering at him, Ray shivered, “God it really is creepy", he thought before it struck. It was incredibly fast. Ray only just narrowly dodged the attack and as he did, he sliced upwards at the snake's softer underside and through the snake, slicing its head off. Suddenly, he heard a train sized object whipping through the air. As he looked to his left, he saw a huge scaly limb rushing towards him, he raised his sword above his head and sliced through it, the alert that he had levelled up to level 85 sounding in his head. He suddenly felt something slam into his back, sending him flying. He caught himself in the air using the flames out of his feet and plopped himself down on another snake. He looked back to where he was just attacked and saw a massive tail.

“Sneaky bastard.”, Ray thought.

Ray jumps up in the air, Blade pointed down and pierced a snake straight through the head, sending a wave of flames through its skull, killing it. He had been at this for about 3 hours now and had levelled up to level 93, even though some of these snakes were close to his level, it was taking him ages to level up. He had been battling for almost 3 non-stop hours and had only gained 8 levels, he must need a lot of exp to reach this next evolution, more than usual, Ray thought, which means it could be quite the powerful evolution. What was also concerning was that additional evolution he had been told he was going to get hadn’t been loaded yet, he wondered what it was at when an alert went off in his head as he battled through the oncoming snakes.

“Final evolution in the beat-man series has been added, evolution will proceed as followed: At level 100, you will evolve into a full beast-man model ‘wolf’. At level 150, you will evolve into a greater beast-man model ‘wolf lord’. At level 200, you will evolve into a superior beast-man model ‘wolf king’. At level 250, you will evolve into a new evolution added due to the Phoenix power, you will evolve into an ancient beast-man model ‘red wolf of flame’.”.

“Well speak of the devil.”. Ray thought as he dodged and beheaded another snake, “The evolutions are pretty much the same as the human transformation except for the model names. However, level 250 is completely brand new due to the Phoenix. I wonder what kind of powers I will unlock then and how powerful I’ll become.”. He kills another snake, reaching level 94.

“I can’t wait to evolve.”. Ray thought as he continued his ongoing battle.

Another 3 hours had passed, and he had finally reached level 99, he was so close now, just one more level to go, just one more until he evolved. 1 snake down, 2...3...4 and 5. as he pierced the 5 snakes, he found his body begin to heat up, his bandages fell loose, and he felt his body begin to fill out more and more, he was growing more flesh and muscles, and his hair was growing longer and longer. As the bandages fell to the ground Ray had officially evolved for the second time. His hair had grown longer and was not just passed his shoulders in length. His body had filled out with muscle and flesh and now, instead of being skinny he looked incredibly healthy, with muscles in all the right places, he finally looked as strong as he was. He was still slim, but he was incredibly toned, with his muscles being completely visible even without tensing, truly the perfect physique in his opinion, he had also noticed that his nails were more like claws and perturbed into a point.

He was even more alive than before... and he felt. Powerful, faster, more durable. Ray activated his flame aura which was significantly larger than before. He could finally draw out more of its power, that was good, he was getting stronger and that was exactly what he needed, and he was going to keep getting stronger and stronger. In 3 days, he was determined to be just as close to his next evolution.
