Chapter 19 : Skeletons, Trolls and Wolves

{The dungeons' level 10 monster creature was a troll.}

Trolls were massive, muscular creatures that stood at a height of more than two meters; their bodies were covered in muscle and fat that could absorb most of the physical damage they sustained.

These beastly creatures with muddy yellow eyes had grey, rough skin, and small tusks jutting out from their mouth, that made them look brutal and dangerous.

The behemoths relied purely on their raw physical power and liked to smash opponents with the blunt weapons they wielded; a large wooden club.

The graceful Silver wolves stood in stark opposition to the brutish trolls, showcasing elegance with their majestic white fur and swift movements.

Using coordinated, simultaneous attacks, they utilized their speed to encircle opponents and performed hit-and-run tactics, showings great battle intelligence.

In packs, the Silver wolves overwhelm their prey with bone chilling howls and relentless aggression.

The Silver wolves' silvered claws and fangs aimed for vulnerable areas, going in for the kill, the moment the target dropped their guard.

The two terrible creatures were currently locked in great battle in the dungeon.

As a higher ranked monster, the level 10 troll was actually much stronger than the level 7 silver wolf and could easily triumph over it any day of the week,

However at the moment, the silver wolves had the numerical advantage.

There were fourteen wolves in the pack, outnumbering the mere two opponents, and the trolls could only fight back desperately.

While outnumbered, the trolls with higher strength couldn't be underestimated, and already there were four wolves that had fallen to the ground.

Their heads crushed under the overwhelming strength of the trolls.

The trolls were also not unharmed; one of them had a deep gash across its face and eyes; it was blinded and bleed profusely.

There was a loud roar as one of the trolls swung its massive club, hammering a nearby wolf into a daze, and kicking another wolf with its massive legs, sending it flying.

A swift silver wolf used this time to leap up in an attempt to snap the troll's neck, but the troll defended with its forarm, and the wolf's jaws clamped down, sinking into it.

The fangs sank deep, as blood gushed out from the wound.

The troll was furious, releasing its club and grabbing the silver wolf's head with both hands; there was a sickening crunch as it cruely crushed the wolf's head in its hands.

The pack finally obtained a chance and seized it; in the moment of the troll's defencelessness, a silver wolf went for the troll'sneck, and another went for its stomach.

The troll, panicked, scrambling for its weapon, but another wolf intervened and pounced for its grey hand.

In an instant, the troll entered a moment of life or death.

The blinded troll was too preoccupied to help its ally; by the time it paid attention, it was already too late. The bodies of a troll and the three wolves lay on the ground lifeless.

The desperate troll had managed to kill the three silver wolves before perishing itself.

The battle scene was too tragic; the heads of the wolves were sunken, the neck of the troll was cut open, and a pool of blood accumulated on the spot.

The white fur of the lifeless wolves turned crimson with blood.

The tunnels were cloaked in an air of desperation, filled with the echoes of blood, howls, roars, and the haunting presence of death.

The blind troll managed to smash the heads of two wolves, and only four of the fourteen silver wolves remained.

But it was wounded even more now; its tough skin was cut open in many places by the claws of silver wolves, and it bled as it fought back

Pushed against the cavern walls, the one-eyed troll swung its club wildly in desperation but couldn't halt the constant harassment of the wolves.

Suddenly, it released a beastly growl, catching the nearest wolf in the face with its large club, ending its life short.

The three wolves, undeterred, pounced immediately, utilizing their vicious claws.

The one-eyed troll narrowly avoided a lunge by a silver wolf and punched the closest foe, sending it flying.

Roaring loudly, it swung its club, sinking it into the head of another wolf and ending its life.

The remaining two wolves viciously struck back, one went for the hand and the other for its neck.

The one-eyed troll, fueled by another roar, ignored the wolf that sunk its fang in its hand and savagly pummeled the wolf leaping for its neck to death.

It turned to the sole remaining silver wolf clamped down on its large forearm. Releasing its weapon, the troll grabbed the wolf by the neck and forcefully twisted it.

The white wolf didn't let go until the end and lifelessly fell to the ground.

Victorious at last, the one-eyed troll releaed a primal howl filled with savagery and power.

However, as the last survivor of the battle, the one-eyed troll was covered in wounds all over; dark red blood flowed to the ground from its wounds, revealing the desperation and intensity of the battle.

The wounded one eyed-troll heared the echo of howls from a distance and slowly dragged its wounded body into the shadows.

_____________

[I just need another 12 skeletons.]

In the dark dungeon path, Green was calculating silently in his mind.

With another twelve skeletons, he could complete the [Skeleton task].

[Together with the Exp reward, it should be enough to level up, right?]

Green was very excited; it was time to go to level 5.

He could hear the faint howls of silver wolves from a distance, but he paid it no mind.

[It is the same for the last few days.]

The silver wolves were really gangsters and had stopped his valiant efforts to destroy skeletons.

[But it sounds like it's far away.]

He wouldn't be stopped from reaching level 5 today! No matter what.

As the skeletons were not hard to find, he found his first cave after a short time.

There were three skeleton monsters inside.

Green used the method tried and tested; a skeleton was drawn out by his charms and met its end in a gruesome manner, leaving behind just a pile of bones.

He tried to draw out another, but the noise must have alerted them as both skeletons came out. Their clinking bones filled the tunnel walls.

Green was defensive and ready to counter any of their strikes. As the first skeleton stepped forward to strike, he deflected and knocked it away.

He turned to the other skeleton and endured a blow before striking its head. The bone head stumbled forward as he didn't manage to cut off its skeletal head, but the second chop seemed to do the trick.

The remaining skeleton came to and rushed him. Green turned to dodge but was still impacted before he could chop off its head.

Green panted heavily and looked at his health points.

He took a second glance at the defeated foes and walked in another direction.

Today was the day. He wouldn't give up. Green walked for another 30 minutes while hiding and encountered another skeleton cave.

Peeking inside, there were four skeletons.

This time everything went smoothly, and he was able to draw out three skeletons and finished them off.

The skeletons burst into a pile of bones, and the rewards came in.

Green leisurely walked into the cave and faced the sole remaining skeleton.

The bone head drew its sword to strike, sidestepping with agility, Green avoided the blow.

Before the skeleton fiend could strike again, he used his shoulders to push it down. Green felt the bone-chilling feeling when he pressed his body against the skeleton.

While the skeleton was still staggered, he kicked at its hand, and the feeble sword was thrown to the ground.

Green flashed the sword and executed it immediately.

[Good!]

He walked out of the cave with confidence; he was feeling lucky today.

Unfortunately, the monster activity was a lot in the cave, and Green had to hide nearby.

The dungeon had numerous caves, most occupied by monsters but there were some empty ones.

Green discovered an empty cave nearby and walked in.

[I only need another five skeletons to complete the task!]

Preoccupied, calculating in his mind the requirement for the task, Green didn't notice the weirdness of the cave as he entered.

He found a rock formation in the dark part of the dungeon and hid behind.

Hearing the loud howling coming from outside the cave Green was puzzled.

The silver wolf pack was not resting today either.

[But they sound really desperate.]

The cave Green found was small, and the blue moss didn't brighten things up; instead, it just made it creepier in there.

It was so quiet that Green could almost hear his own breath, and then, out of nowhere, a strange sound made Green jump.

"Behind you."
