“Dyllan! Wake up!” Cedric’s voice echoed emptily, barely registering in Dyllan’s half conscious mind. “C’mon man… I really need your help right now…”
“Wha…? Who…?” Dyllan’s vision slowly returned to him. He was still in the mindscape, inside one of its many office buildings. Cedric was standing over him, using his Kindness to heal Dyllan. “Where’s Andie? What happened to the Nightmare? What did I miss?”
“Andie was knocked into a different building.” After a quick examination to make sure Dyllan was at least mostly ready to fight, Cedric took a few steps back and glanced toward a large hole in a nearby wall. “The Nightmare followed her, likely to try and finish her off.”
“What!? Why aren’t you -”
Cedric spoke with a strained calm, struggling to hold back a rising panic. “I’m too vulnerable while healing. I can’t do anything with the Nightmare there, unless I have someone to provide cover.”

“But -”
“That was a request, not a statement.” Cedric pulled Dyllan up onto his feet, then semi-gently shoved him toward a nearby window. “Go! Go! Go! She landed by the nearest plume of smog!”
Dyllan nodded, picked up his shield, then dashed shield first through the window. Almost immediately, the infuriatingly distorted gravity of the mindscape tried to pull him back through the window. Thankfully, he had enough momentum to reach a nearby building and hook his shield around a window sill. He pulled himself up and to the side, curling up with his feet pushed against the wall, ready to jump. With a leap and a roll, he threw himself up and back toward the building he had originally landed in with enough momentum to hit it hard… and bounce off again.
Back and forth from building to building he rocketed, moving with enough force to push through and completely ignore the shifting gravity - until he reached the rooftops. There, he scanned his surroundings for the smog Cedric had mentioned and took off to save his friend.
…hopefully.
