“…okay. Yeah. That’s… good? I think?” As per usual, the bravado that flowed through Andie in the face of insurmountable odds deflated as soon as the mood turned solemn. She’d always had a larger-than-life personality, so she wasn’t good at dealing with… quieter emotions.
At least, that was the theory Cedric had shared with Dyllan.
“Soooooo… ahhhh…”
Dyllan wasn’t facing Andie, so he couldn’t see her body language, but he knew her well enough to know that right about now she was looking at Cedric with a pleading expression - hoping for some “sagely wisdom or something” as she’d once put it. Unfortunately for her, a deafening silence made it clear Cedric was staying out of the conversation for now. He was good at that, at knowing when to hold his tongue - whether he was waiting for the right words to speak or the right time to say them.

“Dyllan? …you good?” Andie, however, was NOT good at holding her tongue. Her general compulsion to insert herself into people’s lives, conversations, and problems was usually one of her more endearing traits… but at times like this it could get a little bit grating. “Dyllan?“
“Well… I’m Dyllan.” Dyllan insecurely shifted his body language to take a more confident stance. “Every last piece of me.” He took a deep breath and smiled weakly - but didn’t take his eyes off his Nightmare. “I don’t know if I’m okay, though. Not yet.”
“You… uh… Do… you wanna talk about it, or…?” Dyllan could hear hesitation in Andie’s voice and footsteps as she shuffled a little closer to him, then backed off again.
Dyllan paused for a moment. “Maybe. But there’s something I need to do first.”
