“Alright, so here’s the new plan: ” Andie stretched her arms, twirled her sword, and took a deep breath. “We wait for the Nightmare to throw a second car, then I stab it in the back of the head as soon as it turns around to get a third one.”
“Sounds good.” Dyllan raised an eyebrow with concern. “But are you sure you’re up for it? You got hit pretty bad back there.”
“Of course I’m up for it.” Andie forced a smile. “I’m awesome, remember?”
A voice came from behind Andie, heralded by a sharp laugh. “Ha! Bullshit! You’re holding yourself together about as well as Stonehenge right now.” It was Cedric. A squirrelly looking boy, about the same age as Andie and Dyllan. He wasn’t particularly short for his age, but something about the shape of him made him look smaller than he really was. He wore a hoodie and a pair of old jeans, the former a size too large and the latter a size too small. His face always looked worried about something, whether or not he really was, and his eyes had this sort of directness to them that sometimes left Andie wondering if he could read minds. All of this stood in opposition to the way he spoke and moved, which swung from total innocence to vicious, targeted, honesty - depending on his mood. “Honestly, you’re always such a crab when you’re low on Will to Live. Now, sit your ass down, swallow your pride for just three seconds, and let me patch you the hell up before you run screaming after the Nightmare that just threw you through a building.”

“…Fine.” Andie sat back down and watched as a small white drone flew into the room. It had a red circle on top of it, with a white plus symbol in the center. “Just try not to take too long, I need to be ready when it’s time.”
“Yeah, yeah… Lend a hand, my Kindness.” A stream of deep purple energy flowed out from Cedric and through his drone - turning rose red as it went. After passing through the drone, the energy began to wrap around Andie and shift into a golden orange and pull itself into her chest. It was a comforting feeling. Like hot chocolate settling in your stomach after a winter afternoon of playing in the snow. “There!” Cedric smiled with an angelic warmth. “Feeling better now?”
