Chapter 13

“Okay. I’ll admit it.” Cedric took a drink from his Franken-soda as he stared incredulously at the pair of Andies before him. One ordinary Andie sitting in her seat, and one thought-doodle Andie floating over the normal one’s head. “This was worth the half hour walk to Grill Tyrant. What even is this, anyway?”

” The floating Andie shrugged, grinning as it spoke. “” The floating Andie disappeared, but the sound of Andie’s voice continued to come from the normal thought-doodles that always orbited her head. “

“It’s not my fault!” Cedric gestured towards his burgers accusingly. “I’m pretty sure they lace their buns with hard drugs or something. I’m addicted now. If I don’t eat here regularly, I will undergo withdrawal symptoms. Horrible, horrible -”

“Cedric. Cut it out.” Dyllan glared at his best friend. “There's a kid at our school with a drug problem, remember? Don’t be a dick.”

“Oh, right.” Cedric slumped down into his seat. “Sorry.”

“It’s not a big deal, just… hold back on the jokes that hit too close to home, alright?” Dyllan paused. “
