Book 4 Chapter Twelve; What is yet to come

Jazmel could not take his eyes off of the primordial that was Mirete. but he could feel the Mana wrapping itself around Sadé’s body. She had tempered and she felt like a cloud just before a storm. He would catch up with her later.

“What happens now?” He asked and Mirete looked at him, taking her eyes off of her own system screen.

“I will regain my power and awaken my sisters.” She said, her voice a ghost of ages past. Jazmel remembered the primordial core shard and pulled it free from his ring.

“Where did you get that?” She asked, taking a step forward and Jazmel took a step back.

“I received after defeating the knight of a revenant dragon.” She scoffed at that and left Jazmel to hold it, but her eyes never strayed from it. “That is the core of one of my sisters; I would remember it as if it were my own.

“Does it have something to do with the fountains?” Jazmel said and she stared at him, her eyes piercing him, and she didn’t look back at the shard for a long while.

“If you are being taken to the fountain, you must have a fate tied to us all.” She said and Jazmel put the shard back.

“If this is truly for your sister when I reach the end of the plot. I will offer it to her, and she can awaken if it will allow.” He said and she smiled, a kind smile, a loving one.

“If you so will it.” she nodded and then stepping back onto the small stone pulpit she raised her staff high as her tiny frame would allow and Mana flowed and flooded from its tip into the air. In mere moments she had covered the entire sky and Jazmel shuddered at the impossible show of pure Mana being easily wielded.

YOU ARE WITNESSING A PRIMORDIAL PHENOMENON!

EXP GREATLY ACCRUED!

He was gaining exp for literally witnessing something happen, the system was ecstatic with this, and he wondered just how wondrous it would get if more of the primordial were to awaken.

“I must leave, I must recover. Some might sense my awakening and I need time to gain at least some of my power back before I am confronted.” She explained, turning to look at the trio with tired but kind eyes.

Jazmel forcefully swallowed his saliva if she wasn’t powerful now. What must he and his friends look like before her.

“We will see each other again awakener. The system wills it.” She said and at that, she disappeared. Literally winking out of existence before them.

REWARDS GAINED!

A CRYSTAL CHEST!

Before him, a crystal chest about the size of a trunk at the bottom of a bed appeared from the air and dropped in front of him with a thick thud. He opened the chest by placing a palm onto the lid and the latch fluttered open and allowed him to look within. He whistled now, aloud and he knew only he could see into the contents of the chest. But he would be showing these items to his friends.

The first item was a token that had a single I token on it, when he peered at it. the system sung into activity and showed him what he was looking at.

DING!

YOU HAVE FOUND A TIER RANK UP! This item will rank up any weapon or item to the tier above.

That was an incredible gift, he wondered what to put it towards and considered his swords, looking over them he thought which one would be the best to receive this tier up.

TIER II Yoru No Tsubasa

TIER I Nozarashi

TIER II Daishinkan

They were all pretty powerful, but he didn’t know which one to upgrade, he put his tier up token away. He would decide later. The next item he took out was a smaller tome, it had writing on it at the front that he couldn’t make out, but the system quickly translated it

TIER II TOME OF ARRAYS FOUND! Learn the art of arrays, ward your home! Hide your hoard!

Jazmel literally laughed aloud and then without a moment’s thought or hesitation, he handed it over to Elai. She looked at it and he realised the system was sharing the same thing with her as it had did with him.

“This is too much, you should take the gifts you earn, it isn’t even my plot.” she said but he waved her away.

“Anything you learn that helps in the long run is a benefit to us all. Take it and learn arrays, maybe you can place one on our walls.” Sadé chimed in and Jazmel looked at her, his eyes filled with emotion. She always knew what to say and when to say it. she looked right back at him, sheepishly.

“I will accept it then, for the good of the faction.” Elai took the tome reverently and put it in her side satchel.

Jazmel dove back in the chest and pulled out a singular shard of Mana it was a chunk of Mana essence in crystalised form, he would be putting that right into the store when he returned. He put that in his ring and then searched the remaining contents of the chest. He pulled out a crystal, it looked like glass but had been chiselled down into a beautiful nine-pointed star. Jazmel looked at it in wonder but could see no function for it, before the system chimed in.

TIER I MAGELLANIC MEMORY MOULD FOUND! Place a memory in here and it will hold forever, anytime you wish to perceive it, light it with Mana!

Jazmel didn’t know what he would do with that, but he took it, taking it into his ring. Then he pulled the final item from the chest, and it was a shirt, a long sleeve tunic of sorts.

TIER III TUNIC OF TUMERIN FOUND! This shirt was made by the silk weavers of Tumerin, they are well known for the defensive warding sewn into their clothing. This tunic will guard and keep its wearer!

Jazmel smiled and placed it into his ring, he would change it when they returned home. But now was not the time for stripping.

DING!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONVERT THE CHEST INTO COIN?

Y/N?

Jazmel smiled and accepted, he and his two friends watched in amazement when the chest burst into platinum coins! He took them all into his ring and it amounted to 100 extra platinum coins.

“Let’s go home.” Jazmel said to his two friends and the system offered the exit to them, Jazmel thought of the old man but thought better to not say anything. Mirete had awoken, the old man must have known this might have happened.

They left and Jazmel stepped through the exit and straight into the gate that led to his faction. The outpost was buzzing with activity; he Sadé and Elai walked up towards the outpost.
