He exhaled a shaky breath and sighed as the last harbinger died from a stab of his grave iron katana pierced into its darkened cowl and it fell off the wall. Jazmel wasn’t even injured, he and Elai had made short work of the ghouls, fiends, and harbingers from their place on the wall.
BEWARE!
THE KNIGHT OF THE REVENANT DRAGON APPROACHES!
The system warned him, and he rolled his shoulders waiting for the knight in the blackened armour to appear. He came through the broken doors, and he carried his great claymore over his shoulder, much like how Gelth carried his own.
Mountain split!
Gelth charged at the knight and slammed his great blade down trying to cleave him in half. But the knight stopped it with a simple block of his own blade. Gelth didn’t even move him, he was strong. Jazmel could see that now.
“Wear him down!” Jazmel shouted and the knight turned and looked at him, eyes razing over his body. The pressure was immense, his eyes told him that pure Mana was pooling from the knight, it was like he was one giant piece of Mana and just being near him was enough to confuse Jazmel ’s senses.
Star descent!
Elai cast her skill and stars appeared in the night sky, beautiful and bright. She pulled them down from their mantle in the night sky and sent them whirling down towards where the knight stood. Four stars hit him, and he didn’t even move to block them and simply took the attack on. The stars smashed into him, and the ground of the inner courtyard exploded from the might of the skill. Crashing and obliterating all the front gates of the courtyard.
“Good.” Jazmel heard through the dust cloud that plumed at the gate, he could see the Mana unmoved from where the man had been before the skill struck.
“You have to be this strong for it to be worth my time to break you.” The knight said and he raised his sword above his head and then rammed the tip into the ground.
Roar of the revenant dragon
The ground broke, the entire courtyard burst from beneath and Jazmel watched as many of the retainers were thrown off their feet and injured in the strength of this skill. He was stronger than a tier III, now that Jazmel even remembered, the system hadn’t given him a tier. That bothered him and Jazmel looked around to see who were still on their feet.
He had used Mana to cause the ground to erupt and everyone below had been thrown into turmoil, well not all. Through the broken ground he perceived Bannerman rushing across the ground towards the revenant knight.
Beast frenzy!
Bannerman hurled a slash of Mana claws at the revenant knight. He blocked it with his blade and with his free hand he threw a punch at Bannerman who artfully dodged it. the punch blew the rubble up even further; crushing the chest of a gorge giant who had already died from the faction’s attacks.
Mastodon!
Beast frenzy!
Mary and Bannerman rushed him, and he couldn’t block both. He chose to knock Bannerman away and the wolf man went hurtling through the rubble and groaned in his crumpled heap. But Mary used that moment to strike him and used the power of the primal elephant’s strength and punched him in the chest. The sound was as loud as a canon blast.
KRAKOOM!
Her clenched fist slammed against his breastplate, and it didn’t even leave a smear. He grabbed at her wrist, she blocked and then punched his face with her other first. His head turned a little and he turned back and looking into her eyes, a trickle of blood dropped from his lip, and he licked it up before it could fall.
“Interesting.” He said simply and this time he caught her wrist and before she could block, he pulled her forward and crashed his head down into her skull. Her nose popped and she cried out. He raised his sword to stab her, but Bannerman was there, he leapt at him and grabbing Uter’s neck he used it to stop his momentum going past and spun about his body, placing his feet into the knight’s chest he kicked off into a somersault. The knight took two steps back and Bannerman landed beside Mary and picking her up he darted from near the knight.
“All that for a drop of blood?” Uter uttered as he stepped back to where he was and then thinking on it, he took a step forward.
Mana blade!
Patton struck at him with his sword augmented with Mana, Uter blocked it and Jazmel watched as Patton and him duelled, Patton was fighting with everything while the Revenant Knight wasn’t even moving his feet. Gilmore moved in and was wielding his ink in the form of a black sword and Uter used his sword to parry and counter both swords. Jazmel stepped off the wall and landed nimbly onto the ground. He had to join the fight.
Ink crow
Crows exploded from the blade and buffeted the revenant knight; they had surprised him, and he raised a hand to guard his face. That was when Jazmel reached them, Yoru no Tsubasa was in his hand and the keen edge sliced through the air sounding like a wind chime as it sailed towards the knight. He stepped back and then raised his own sword to fight Jazmel.
“Finally you enter the melee.” He said as if he had been awaiting him. They duelled, Jazmel was fighting with his life on the line and the knight of the revenant dragon was simply blocking his strikes and averting the ones he decided were not worth his time. But what he did not know was that this high intensity was training for Jazmel , his trait was powering along ever present and every move Jazmel made, evaded, or parried. He remembered and locked away in his vault; his memory. He himself could feel the minute changes in his swordsmanship.

“Interesting.” Uter uttered when he actually had to raise his sword to parry a slice from Jazmel.
Mountain breaker!
Gelth had returned and he used the tip of his blade to create a deep groove in the ground and using the traction, his skill formed an upward slash of Mana which broke through the ground and shot across the ground toward Uter, he kicked Jazmel in the chest, sending him flying backwards and then he drove his sword into the ground again.
Roar of the revenant dragon!
The skill clashed with Gelth’s, and they exploded on contact. Dust plumes shrouded the entire area, but the only person could see anything was Jazmel. But he groaned silently, not trying to give away his position. He heard skills flit around as his friends tried to damage this knight, but he knew he had to get back in there.
STATUS CONDITION!
X3 BROKEN RIBS (minor)
That kick had done more than just send him flying. He eased a potion out of his ring and drank it, he felt the pain dull, but he could tell his ribs were still broken. He drank another potion and the pain turned into just an ache; he swigged down a stamina potion just to be sure too.
Rising up, he could feel his stamina fighting alongside the health potion and trying to heal him. but he didn’t have time to pick anything else. Instead he rushed back into the fight, the dust plumes, dispersing into smaller clouds.
Thunderfire!
He heard and he watched as thick bolt of fire fashioned like a spear, encased in lightning struck out and spurred through the air towards where the knight stood. He had taken steps deeper into the courtyard now and Jazmel watched as he deflected the spear and grit his teeth as the thunder conducted off of his armour and sword.
Bark
Bark!
Could be heard and something besides Sadé streamed blue fire onto the knight he shielded himself from the torrent with his blade and the enchantment of whatever the blade was made of caused a divide in the flames and they parted from the sword and dispersed in two different directions. The dust had settled, and a big hound was darting around casting fire at the knight and keeping him back while Sadé threw thunderbolt fire spears again and again, he would ask her about that fire hound later.
“Enough!” Uter yelled and slashing upward he cut through the flame with just the swing of his blade.
Dragon claw!
He slashed with his sword and Jazmel could see the strength in the skill, it was filled with blood red Mana and the attack looked like a sickle as it carved through the air. He jumped forward and casting his own skill twice, he felt it change as he used it.
Cleave!

Lacerate!
The skill burst from within; a double slash that sent out a splaying cross slice from his Mana. He felt the skill settle in, but he didn’t have time to look at the notification because Uter was approaching him.
Dragon claw!
Lacerate!
He sent out the skill again and Jazmel matched him. But he was wary, Uter had only used two skills so far and he was definitely stronger than a seeker, so it was likely he had more remaining.
“You have some skill, but it is not enough.” He threw at Jazmel , he didn’t respond. There was no need, defeating him would be enough.
Mastodon!
Thunderfire!
Mountain breaker!
Mana blade
Beast frenzy!
All those skills bombarded Uter, Jazmel had been the only one to not use a skill, he was too close to Uter, but the knight simply threw his head back and wailed.

It was a sound, a wail of distress. It was something Jazmel had never heard before but the thrum in his chest was so profound he almost dropped his blade. the others were abashed, washed by the piercing wail he had used and for a few seconds they were frozen. But Jazmel was not, his tyrant body had broken him free and darting in; he then wreaked havoc.

Skill after skill, he threw at Uter. Stabbing and slicing wherever he felt he could find purchase. Uter was caught off guard, he hadn’t expected Jazmel to not be petrified and now he was on the back foot.
Lacerate!
He slashed up and nicked the chin of the knight, his blade. chilled with cold iron and numbing with grave iron. Bit into the flesh and Jazmel felt something tug, be pulled away.
DING!
UTER HAS SUFFERED A SPIRIT WOUND!
ENTHRALLED!
Jazmel didn’t even know what that meant, but he didn’t hesitate at all. He struck again and this time his cut sliced across Uter’s face, and he slunk back, clearly wounded, and still enthralled. Whatever Uter was, the grave iron of Jazmel ’s sword was damaging his spirit and that seemed to be the only way to defeat him.
“How?!”
“None can defeat me!” Uter roared and flaring his Mana the pressure forced Jazmel back, but only a half step

The extra stats were building now, gradually he was gaining ground on this knight of the revenant dragon, he was wounding him bit by bit now. Jazmel was forcing him further and further back.
Lacerate!
The skill carved a blunt X on the chest plate of Uter’s armour.
“Enough!” he growled and flared his Mana again, denser and Jazmel could tell he had overcome the enthrallment.
Mastodon!
Mary appeared beside the knight, she punched in the face and then locked his arm in an armbar trying her best to pull the great blade from his grip.
“No!” he yelled in defiance, Bannerman appeared and grabbed his wrist, clawing at his fingers to pull the blade from his hand. With his free hand; Uter tried to swing a punch, but Gelth appeared; the burly mountain of a man grabbed his hand and held him back.
Mana blade!
Patton came from behind Mary and cut off Uter’s hand and arm, carving through the forearm guard and blood spurted from the wound.
“Argh!” he wailed, and he tried his best to break free from them all but he could not.
“Now Jazmel !” Sadé yelled from where she was crouched and Jazmel reared back, before stabbing deep into the chest of Uter and through his heart.
“Find peace knight.” He whispered into the ear of Uter who shuddered, stricken from the stab.
DING!
UTER THE KNIGHT OF THE REVENANT DRAGON HAS BEEN KILLED!

THE FORCES THAT ATTACKED THE OUTPOST HAVE BEEN DEFEATED!
…
Jazmel pulled his sword free and with a fluid movement, he flicked the blood from his blade before sheathing it. he fell backwards into a seat, his hands on his knees. The others moved toward him to help but he waved them off.
“I just need some rest.” He told them and one by one they all began to sit down in the rubble and the ground that had once been the inner courtyard of the outpost.
