“For you to understand the domain of Mirete. you must first understand who Mirete is.” The old man said, and he had brought them another pavilion overlooking the entirety of the village. It was encased in a barrier, but once he approached it they realised just how impressive and wondrous it was. It was a domain within the domain, a plane cut out from the actual gate and was like a small mirror realm. When they had all entered, the old man closed it off and Jazmel found himself entrenched in Mana, not overwhelmed but the pavilion literally hung in the air of its own making.
“This is another domain, inside the domain?” Jazmel asked, his eyes reading and following the many threads that had been interwoven to create this special place.
“I see your eyes have transformed, now you can see the truth of things, the beauty of this world.” The old man sighed, and Jazmel wondered if he were able to see the same things as him.
“What is happening here? why does Mirete look so different to the rest of the labyrinth.” Jazmel asked and the man pulled a tea set from his ring and began to pour for all of them, a ceremony of peace and serenity.
“As I said before, you must first realise who Mirete is.” The old man stated, whilst making himself busy filling everyone’s tea and pouring his own, finally.
“I never heard that Mirete was a name of a person, I have only known it as the name of this secret floor.” Elai said and the man simply sipped his tea and smiled.
“Mirete is named after someone, that is why it is not a floor but a domain. There are no quests, not even creatures of the labyrinth. This place is a junction, a nexus to move through after some respite. That was just how the labyrinth responded to the loss of such a great source.” The old man muttered, clearly but his words were quiet. The authority from them pooled and he realised that the tea was used to calm them.

The system was throwing many notifications at Jazmel , his eyes pained a little. He realised that he was not meant to hear this, yet being in this domain was actually preserving all of their sanity.
“The system would block this, but I have prepared for this.” The old man uttered, and Jazmel wondered had his steps been pre planned for him, but he didn’t question it. he was too invested in what he was currently learning.
“Mirete was once a person, a system user who crossed the threshold of greatness.” The old man explained and waited a little, to sip from his teacup. “Back then, the system needed users to push through and help sort through the filth. The system you have now is after the bloodshed of many of your progenitors. But even amongst them, there were a solid few that were greater than the others. As the system was newer back then, the rewards that were reaped were greater than any other.”
Jazmel, Sadé and Elai sat around him hanging off of every word.
“They became known as the primordial. There were many, they were all undoubtedly powerful. They wielded Mana like the seasons. They affected the labyrinth; they created their own borders and domains. But the system was much more lenient back then, back then they had more of a say and the system was still learning how to build itself around the needs of those it had beckoned into its lairs.” He continued, they listened in silence, Jazmel was surprisingly quiet not wanting to break the trance of the story.
“The primordial were gods amongst men, they wielded Mana like breath and the system was theirs to mould around their needs. In amongst them, one of these primordial was the Saintess. Mirete who claimed this domain and made it her home whenever she sought respite from diving in the labyrinth.” He said and everyone listened intently.
“What happened to them?” Elai asked and the old man sipped his tea again, before continuing.
“the system grew wise and tried to create restraints for them. but they rebelled, they fought back. So the system locked them away, suspended animation. But not all of them fought the system, Mirete agreed with the restraints. She agreed that they were too powerful and their time in the labyrinth was coming to an end. Her and a few others also agreed to the systems restraints. A great war occurred amongst the primordial. They ravaged the system; it was many decades before the system allowed seekers to move forward in the labyrinth.” The old man explained.
“So what is the reason the labyrinth brought me here? with these things??” Jazmel asked, pulling the branch and the seed from within one of his rings.
The old man looked at those two items for a moment, Jazmel thought he saw his Mana jump. But he quelled it fast enough so that Jazmel questioned it.
“I can neither plan nor prepare your steps. All I can tell you is what I am allowed to share, what you choose to do. Is your own actions, which will bring forth your own consequences. All our actions have consequences, even me spending this time and speaking to you. I will have to suffer the consequences after this.” The old man said, and Jazmel felt his heart resonate with him, there was something tugging at his own.
“What would you do?” Jazmel asked and that drew a smile across the old man’s face. “I would go and see the summit before I make my decision. But of course, it is your decision to make.” He said and at a mere look another doorway opened and steps made out of air Mana led up higher into the domain.
