Grug, somewhat calmer and appearing refreshed, returned to his seat facing the interviewer, Banou. In his hand, he is carrying a large, but incredibly crude and surprisingly filthy bag.

[That's a... unique bag you have there, Grug. Could you tell us about it?]

"This Grug's first shiny rock bag. Got my first mate from the hunt this bag bring."

Grug pats the old bag affectionately, his eyes misty with nostalgia.

"Grug remember telling you about Speaker and he being called an ox, bad times for Grug. Anyways, Grug was stealing gather nuts and sour berries one day when Grug spotted odd rock in nook belonging to Unghred, best gatherer in tribe, in Big Cave. Grug remembered that Hrunt Big-Beak, best sniffer of tribe, had given to her when he ask to be mates. She hit him in head with the rock and then POP, out came small shiny rocks.

Grug blushes slightly, coughing delicately.

Let Grug tell you, rock was successful. Sounded like fighting saber cats. Whole of Big Cave could hear. That was when Grug had the idea, FIND SHINY. Not for Grug to find mate, Grug had no food, no cave of own. But Grug thought, if Grug can find bunch of shiny rocks and give them to hunters and trap makers for mate rockings, Grug could get plenty of food and maybe even help finding his own cave."

[So, did your plan work, or did something go wrong?]

Grug sighed, then chuckled wryly, idly scratching his ample chest hair.

"Grug's plan was total failure at first, Hunters beat Grug and took rocks, trappers made trap for GRUG, and beat him more, then took his rocks. Let Grug tell you, Grug was very discouraged. Grug was on edge of begging Speaker to let Grug be a gatherer, very disappointing job for head member of Grug family.

Grug's big break came when Grug was breaking open shiny rocks to expose the shiny part. Bunch of points and different shapes inside pointy rock, you know. Grug has example here."

Grug reached into his bag, removing a large geode broken in half, in which a profusion of crystals in all shapes and sizes are evident.

[So what was the vital development you mentioned, Grug?]

"Grug will show you. See here, where the pointy shiny meets with the other one, make a kind of round shape? Grug found out that cavewoman love round only-shiny, especially if on a bit of rope."

[Isn't that even easier to steal though?]

"Grug would have to say yes. But Grug found out that Speaker loved only-shiny, and he made her the first one. After Grug did that, all Speaker's friends wanted only-shiny on rope. They traded good nuts, fruits, and dry meat, so much Grug's stomach hurt still thinking about it. When Grug not deliver, and they find Grug on back, covered in much Grug-water and Red-Water from hunters beating, they tell Grug this. 'Grug need not worry, we not angry at Grug. We will take care of hunters stealing shiny rocks.' "

Grug tapped the side of his prominent nose knowingly, a sly smile on his face.

"Grug learned then that the secret to safe business operations is get cavewomen on your side first. Now. Grug has meeting to attend, same place tomorrow?"
