35: General Jacob On The Hunt!

35: General Jacob On The Hunt!

With this sentence, everyone turned their attention away from Rhode's previous action and focused on the matter in their hands. Other elders also thought about which general was free of duties and suitable for this task, elder Rhode and Noah remained silent as the generals they knew were already busy with various tasks on their hands.

After thinking for a few minutes, an elder named Dean with a long tail behind his back suggested “How about General Jacob? I think that his crops, consisting of hundreds of veterans along with the other thousands of soldiers, could easily kill the giant snake. Even if there will be some losses.”

Elder Noah and other elders nodded their heads, except Elder Rhode. Elder Rhode smiled and explained “Yeah I have seen Jacob's performance and it wasn't anything short of excellence. He can control his power well, with that control alone he can surely injure the giant snake with his bare hands. There's no one more suitable for this mission than Jacob.”

With everyone's approval, they all issued a mission to General Jacob with a written letter and sent the intelligence officer back to his duty. There were more tasks that they had to give conclusions other than the giant snake's, even though the snake was deadly, it was not in the territory that could cause large losses, unlike many other problems that were deadlier than just a massacre.

Just as the Elders of the Kingdom of Vika wrapped up this matter.

John, who was blinded, was slithering in the river towards somewhere far from the reach of the people of the Kingdom of Vika. He focused his attention, as a panel consisting of information about his body appeared in his completely dark vision.

[ Bloodline Creature(1/4).

Age: 73/100 years.

Race: Snake(blinded).

Talent: Endless growth(3%) ]

He glanced at the blinded and low-energy indication in the status panel that he could see even though he didn't have any eye vision. With this John confirmed that the status panel was something that exists in his consciousness. But then he became depressed upon seeing the blinded status as he did not know if it was permanent or temporary, he hoped that his vision could be restored but did not know if it was possible.

Other than the regrown tail no organs in his body ever were regrown according to his knowledge.

With a depressed and bleak mindset, John hunted down the animals and refilled the energy back up as fast as possible while swimming away from the land of the Kingdom of Vika and their people. He can't fight another troop of the Vika people with his current situation and if he did so he would die as the people of Vika were not stupid. He was sure because they would use the known information about him and craft a well-thought-out plan that may effectively eliminate him.

So John decided not to be in the sight of the Kingdom of Vika till he healed fully and confirmed if his eye vision could also be restored with his impressive regenerative ability.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

John spent the days mostly traveling and hunting the animals, a few days later he successfully restored his lost energy and healed all the injuries on his body. But his eyes showed no sign of regenerating, and with the days passing he lost hope more and more in regaining his eyesight, even so, he decided to be patient for a few more days. After a few days, the pain in his hollow eye socket stopped but no signs of recovery occurred.

So with a heavy heart, John concluded that his eyes couldn't be regenerated and decided to give up the recovery plan and continued to travel.

He became more and more proficient in navigating through the world with his other senses and moved out of the range of the east side of the Kingdom of Vika as he really couldn't contend against another attack by the High Humans. They were very resilient and could live even after suffering a heavy blow from him and from their conversation he learned that there were still high-ranking military officers above Kevin and they were much stronger than Kevin who blinded one of his eyes.

With both eyes blinded, John did not want to risk his life just because of his momentary hatred.

After a month of travel, John reached the land that still had traces of the Kingdoms of Vika with a frustrated expression. Even so, he continued to travel on the land very cautiously as he constantly surveyed the land with his heat sense to identify humanoid-shaped heat signals in the surroundings. Luckily the place he reached had very few people whom he easily avoided and continued his travel.

He spent his days cautiously on land a large distance away from where the battle occurred.

An army of soldiers reached the Riya River and camped on the riverbank. While the Commander of this army, General Jacob was planning the next course of action in his tent with Major Kylie.

In the large tent in the middle of thousands of tents surrounded by well-trained veteran soldiers with sharp weapons. Major Kylie sat on a chair opposite General Jacon who was more than six meters in height with his broad shoulders that were even larger than the bears.

General Jacob looked through all the details presented to him in documents for a while and asked Major Kylie with a dignified expression “You are saying you lost track of the giant snake and one of our Major was still recuperating from the injuries he suffered. What's the use of you when you can't even keep track of the animal that injured one of our majors.”

Major Kylie kept her head down with nothing to reply. She was really afraid to track the giant snake out of fear of getting attacked and other soldiers from her troop were also not capable of tracking the giant snake without getting noticed in the Riya River. So she really doesn't have anything to retort, with a disgraceful expression she kept her head down under the scolding of General Jacob.

Seeing no reaction from her, General Jacob stopped scolding her and declared “I want you to find the traces of the giant snake as soon as possible. Use anything you want from the kingdom, but if there's no result. You should forget about the re-emergence of the fierce Eagle troop in your lifetime or under your command.”

Kylie's face paled hearing the threat of the abandonment of her troop so with a determined expression she replied “General, I will definitely! find the traces of the giant snake within a few days.”

General Jacob nodded his head and said with a huff “I hope so. If you find the traces of the giant snake in a few days, as you promised. I will help you in the process of the re-emergence of your troop.”

Hearing the promise from General Jacob, Kylie's positive energy resurfaced as she left from there with a resolute expression. General Jacon then continued his duties as a general, as he had to manage everything related to the army. That's why he was a general, he had to do much more than just commanding the soldiers to attack. He was responsible for food, safety, morale, and other things that were necessary to manage ten thousand-plus people in the middle of the jungle and other various complex terrains.

He has to give a very detailed report to the six elders and other High Humans, even the loss of one soldier from the army is considered a very serious loss. Because the birth rate of their race was much lower than the humans, every one of the High Humans was a valuable resource. For High Humans, It was compulsory to serve in the army for at least ten years according to the rules of their clan. In the clan land, the capital of the kingdom, there were only kids, old, disabled, and teen High Humans.

Most of the High Humans were used in the army to give them some defensive ability and not to become a joke in front of other High Human races.

After all, after serving in the army for ten years one can choose to continue to serve or retire from the army. Only a small number of people would retire and travel the Weakhm continent following the other natural path of the High Humans. The High Humans with their large lifespan will spend a quarter of their time traveling to gain and spread knowledge all over the land. In this traveling culture of High Humans, one High Human race was well known for their widespread traveling habit.

They were Mar High Humans, who were a complete traveling race with much less population than the other High human races. Because of the destruction of their kingdom and their natural habits of race.

They were known for their knowledge gathering and storing ability. They were born Historians with the ability to store their memories in their totem tree with which they share a symbiotic relationship to store, share, and retrieve memories and knowledge. Their Kingdom was destroyed because they were much more liberal in control over their land and let normal humans govern.
