Kylie shook her head at Kevin and explained wholeheartedly without hiding anything “Anyway I started it, So it's better to explain it all. The King-type beast was a specific type of animal that broke free from genetic restraint and grew to an unusual level. These types of animals would have a mutation that would grant them a miracle-like ability. These King-type animals seem to be able to cause panic among the animals and cause an animal stampede.”
Kevin's pupils contracted as he seemed to conclude something crucial to what was happening with the closure from Kylie and he questioned Kylie shutteringly “Then this beast stampede is probably caused by.. The giant snake Right?”
Kylie nodded her head at him understandingly and said “That's what I think. But let's not assume something without evidence.”
Kevin nodded his head at her, but his facial expression became very serious. As he taught about the consequence of letting an animal with the ability to create an animal stampede live one more moment and became agitated as he could not wait to kill the giant snake the next moment.
Kevin showed a determined expression on his face as he thought ( That snake should be killed! )
Kylie led the troop toward the origin place of the animal stampede by following the animal's traces by combining what she learned from the books and what she heard from other aged High Humans.
Within a few minutes, they neared the giant tree where John was located. But they can't see him, as John had seen them beforehand and became invisible to their eyes with his camouflage skill. With murderous intent, John looked at them and waited for the best opportunity to attack them. He already identified them as enemies with their traits as the High Humans and their presence in a forest where no traces of High Humans made him understand, that they came for him.
John accumulated poisonous liquid in his mouth rapidly by consuming the stored energy in his body. Kevin and Kylie marveled at the giant tree and felt insignificant, as they truly marveled at nature’s creation.
With people being slightly distracted by the sight of a giant tree, John opened his mouth and spat out a poisonous liquid drops straight at them. The people who were marveling at the sight of the giant tree got attacked when they were not concentrating. Almost all the veterans and most of the soldiers took a defensive pose and avoided most of the poisonous liquid spat at them.
Most of the trained flying squad soldiers and the eagles tried to avoid the falling poisonous liquid, with some of them being successful.
The remaining unlucky who were all splashed with a poisonous liquid suffered various degrees of injuries on the body parts without any defense. Most of the poison was countered by the armor, with a minority of people getting splashed on their faces leaving disfigured and seriously injured soldiers who were all in a life-threatening.
Kylie flew her eagle dozens of meters away and whistled. Hearing this sound, all the functional people took the injured soldiers and departed a long distance with Kylie and formed a formation. John looked at the escaping people with regret and muttered in silence(Tsk.. Tsk… )
John still maintained the camouflaged state to confuse and maximize his advantage as long as possible.

But Major Kevin and Kylie were not stupid, As both of them used their rich experience to identify the cause of the sudden attack and came to a conclusion. Kylie found a large number of snake scale prints on the giant tree with eagle eyesight by sharing eagle vision, then she said to Kevin hastily “Kevin, the giant snake is on the tree and was using some ability to hide itself from our eyesight.”
Kevin also nodded his head solemnly and replied “Then let's attack without wasting any time. This snake has many abilities which we were not informed of. So let's attack the snake first and use that as an advantage to stop the snake from using any other abilities.”
Kylie didn't order any attack on the snake, as she asked Kevin a question with a hesitant expression “But, this snake has a corrosive liquid attack. How to counter it? Even if we used the potions given by the potionists. It'll be harder to guard against the sudden corrosive liquid attack.”
Kevin replied instantly with a decisive expression on his face “We don't have any other choice. We should try our best to kill this snake because it will not let us leave alive.”
Kylie and the nearby soldiers understood the seriousness of the situation with Kevin’s words. Even though their initial excitement died down with a merciless attack from the giant snake, they organized their emotions and appeared like emotionless humanoids to attack and kill the snake.
They remembered their training for more than ten years which provided them with a rich and skilled combat experience for this moment.
Kevin roared violently with an inhuman expression and ordered ferociously “Attack!!!”
With this roar, Kylie and Kevin rode their eagle to the giant tree and released arrows at John. The soldiers also followed their Major's action and released arrows in the middle of the empty space of the trunk of the giant tree. They all fired arrows confidently because Kylie found the giant snake’s accurate location with the help of her shared eagle’s vision and conveyed this information to her teammates.
Hundreds of sharp and strong rare metal-made arrows pierced the tree leaves and branches in its path destroying everything in its way with pure physical strength and continuing to pierce the trunk of the tree. The arrows flew like it's going to be inserted into the tree’s trunk, but the arrows were all deflected by the unknown hidden robust thing in mid-air.
The soldiers, Major Kevin, and, Kylie didn't show any surprised expressions on their faces as they all expected this outcome. They all reloaded arrows on their bow and waited patiently for their Major’s order. Even though they are very interested in killing the snake, they wait for the Major’s next order. The previous attack was planned, and did not happen due to carelessness, Major did all of this to increase the morale of the troops.
Just like they expected, slowly little by little snake scales one by one appeared in the empty space surrounding the tree and the majestic giant snake’s body fully appeared before everyone's eyes.
All of them took a deep breath with a shocked expression, seeing the gigantic snake with cruel crimson pupils looking at them maliciously. The arrows they fired at the giant snake didn't inflict any injury on the snake. Noticing that the soldier's expression changed into helplessness.
Major Kevin roared loudly again and said in a high pitch “Enough with this bitchy attitude! Aim your arrows at the snake's eyes. I don't believe that this snake was impenetrable.”
The soldiers unconsciously aimed their bows at John, under the order of their Major. Obeying Major became an instinct to the soldiers, after a long period of performing numerous missions under the Major. Without wasting any more time, Kevin ordered “Release!”
The soldiers followed his order and released arrows aiming at the giant snake's eyes. With his huge size, John couldn't easily avoid the incoming arrows, so with a cold expression John closed his eyes. After he closed his eyes, his eyes were covered with eyelids made of numerous small snake scales, which made his eye defense increase several times more than his other body parts.
Several arrows attacked his eyes and got reflected easily without causing much damage. John also did not stand in the same spot, as he didn't have any desire to become a live target by showing his eyes openly to his enemies.
Seeing the rapidly moving John, Major Kevin's brows wrinkled with doubts and worries about how to take the next step. As he didn't have any effective method other than a desperate attack in close combat with the snake. But it was very dangerous to be involved in close combat with a giant snake that could corrode a metal. So he was stuck with a dilemma of taking a decisive decision that may result in a victory or utter destruction.
John opened his eyes and looked at the flying High Humans with fury and excitement. He coiled around the tree tightly and then leaped toward the group of eagles flying in the sky in an instant leaving a little time for the soldiers to respond.
The people in the sky found John’s attack but just like how John can't react faster to the arrow even after seeing it. The soldiers also can't respond to the speed of John’s speed within a few moments. So John entered the middle of the flying troops easily and attacked them unceremoniously.
John focused his attack mainly on Major Kevin’s and Kylie’s eagle and successfully injured the eagle but both of them successfully avoided his attack by jumping down the eagle to the nearby eagle and escaped with a few injuries.
