With a determined expression, John hissed at the man one more time. The man also didn't disappoint John, as he repeated the procedure. But the process failed again, then John injected the potion multiple times, without success. Seeing the situation, the man also began to sweat in fear. He didn't know what the snake would do if it got frustrated, and decided to vent its anger.

With trembling hands, he inserted the injection into the snake's tail. A few seconds after the injection, the tail end began to heal, and a round tail with no scales appeared, at the end of the tail. In the tails inside, multiple small tails moved like they had their consciousness. John looked at the moving small tails inside his tail, with a fascinating expression.

As he's the one who's moving those tails with his thoughts. He also now has improved control, over his muscles and thoughts. Suddenly, the small tails stretched out of his body length and attached to the head of the man, who helped him till now. Then, very small numerous transparent hair-like long protrusions were inserted into his body from the small tails. Which covered every part of his head and the man lost consciousness.

Meanwhile, John looked at the sudden authorization to a huge amount of data, that he couldn't process in a instant. So, he began to organize a huge amount of data like a video. Which starts from the beginning, narrated in the third person POV. To not lose himself to someone else memories, by looking at the memory from the third person's POV. He can understand the person better, without being affected by his emotions.

In the past

In a settlement where the year and dates aren't maintained by normal people, maybe maintained by elders when important things happen. A baby boy was born on a full moon, like other boys in the village. He grew up happily with all the necessities fulfilled and he was named Robin. He spent his childhood like any other child in the settlement.

He successfully inherited the best qualities of his parent's bloodline like a strong body and gills. So, without any suspense, he wanted to become a fisherman like his father and followed him to train his skills in fishing. So, that, one day he will be successful and start a family with a girl he likes.

But destiny isn't on his side, he's worst at fishing. So, he joined guards in the settlement, whose daily job is to patrol and defend in case of any intruders. This is well well-known job, that's not liked by everyone. Even so, not anybody can become a guards. The prerequisite for this job is a strong body and any extraordinary ability like tail or gills.

Robin successfully became a guard of the settlement at the age of nineteen, along with the patrol, the guards also needed to fulfill the requests of the council elders. So, most of the time he spent running errands or doing tasks for the elders. This is why the guards are infamous in the settlement. Because most of the youngsters don't like to be idle and do what the elder says. They want a thrilling life, like how they speculated.

Robin adjusted himself to the life of a guard successfully, he spent his days leisurely while looking for some girl to marry. On one unfortunate day, due to some changes in the settlement. A new department was created with the elder's orders, he entered this department and became a glorious patrolman on the island. One day, he fainted while fooling around a little during patrol time. After that, his days of despair came under the hand of the evil snake that hides in the sky.

John looked away from Robin's story and took back his tail from his body. But, Robin didn't wake up, as he was in deep sleep due to the fatigue of John's action. Meanwhile, John is thinking about the info, he acquired. From, what he knows from Robin's memory, the settlement seems to have no contact with the outside world.

John began to wonder if people were existing, outside the settlement. Robin also doesn't seem to know what day he was born. The village seems to have a concept of year, month, and days, but they are not following it actively. They don't even know what language they are speaking or what part of the world they are living in. So, John is very disappointed, that he didn't learn anything that he want to know.

John moved away from Robin and found another man on the other side of the island. The man is hiding in the cave and doing everything to survive in this unknown land. John didn't waste any time, as he poisoned the man with a light dose and used his tail to read his memory. Then, John slithered into the sea with disappointment, as he didn't see anything different, from what he had seen in Robin's memory.

John began swimming towards the island known as Paradise Island, which he learned from Robin's memory, it's the place Robin lived from the day, he was born. John is moving faster, without bothering to hide his figure underwater. As a result, numerous animals from the sky to the sea diverged and gave path to him.

Meanwhile, in Paradise Island, all the people gathered together, in the gathering hall and looked at the elders and other important members of the settlement for answers.

The elders looked like they were aging rapidly. As they haven't faced these types of situations in their nearly hundred years of life. When they can't find a solution for their people, they are disappointed with themselves, thus resulting in their current state.

Even so, the elders calmed down the crowd and one of the very old elders said in a hoarse voice "You all should know that even I haven't seen a situation like this in my long life. So, without pointing fingers at others, you all should also contribute something and solve this predicament for the betterment of all."

The people in the crowd all looked away with shame. Looking at the people in the crowd, most of the elders began to reflect on what they had done wrong in their time. What they all did, was to follow what was said by their father and grandparents. Soon the elders understood that the elder's council wasn't enough to protect the settlement, and they also needed a young mind with wild ideas in a time of need.

If they still only had an elder council in the future, they wouldn't know what would happen to people in the settlement. All the people, who seem to be very dependent on them and do not provide or take any actions benefitting the current circumstance. The elders understood they needed a person in charge, to show light in times of darkness.

Even though, they thought so, it's not a time to initiate this. So, one of the elders from the council asked "Timothy, what's the result of your investigation?"

Timothy, a middle-aged man with a very strong body and gills came forward from the sidelines and said with a solemn expression "Elder, from what we had noticed. It looked like both of them were abducted by a gigantic snake. We should prepare for a battle immediately, as we don't know when the snake will attack the settlement."

Upon hearing about the gigantic snake, the crowd boiled and some timid ones already thinking about how to survive, while the brave ones thinking about how to kill the snake. The elder listened calmly and raised a question "Why are you sure, it's a gigantic snake, and what do you find that proves the snake's existence?"

Timothy showed a cautious expression on his face and said with fear in his eyes "Elder, we found snake scale traces on the shore, and, we also have someone who can read memories of animals. It's him who confirmed the presence of the gigantic snake."

Hearing his explanation, the crowd boiled with more information. While the elders remained silent and conversed with each other. After a few minutes, the elder ordered Timothy "Tell me, Who can read the memories of the animals?"

Timothy said to the elder without batting an eye "It's George, my lord."

Hearing the word George, Elder Henry got agitated and asked seriously "Is he the one, who has undergone a unique mutation in the ceremony?"

Hearing this, Timothy showed a surprised expression on his face and replied "Yes, it's him, my lord."

Elder Henry is deeply involved in the ceremony and mutation process. So, he noted down George, who had undergone a unique mutation. But, due to various accidents in the settlement, he's busy with other things and doesn't have time to spend on his curiosities.
