At the next ceremony, the one who participated mutated into a human covered in dense black colored hair with sharp claws for human hands. He only lost his flexibility in using the human fingers but he gained sharp claws for it, which may be not as sophisticated as the tail ability.

But with these claws, he can hunt more easily if he is well-trained. With dense hair on his body, he won't catch a cold for sure. His body may have considered this targeted evolution to be more necessary than the tail or he may just failed to acquire the tail randomly without any reason.

The ceremony ended with one failure and one death out of twenty-two people who participated resulting in twenty people luckily gaining the ability that the settlement needed very badly. As the people from the settlement are enjoying the success. They didn't know another being also enjoying their success, but not for them. For its purpose, John looked at the ceremony site with sparkling eyes, as he finally saw what he needed and how he could acquire it.

But he's also a little afraid to try it, as he had seen what failure had done to the participant's body. But he's not gonna lose something in front of him due to some fear. The main reason he's very brave to try this process is that he can see that, the ceremony is all about finding the successful DNA fusion and letting it change the body. He doesn't necessarily need to use his body as an experiment.

He can inject the potion into his tail and see if the tail DNA is successfully adapted to his DNA, if not he can detach the tail from his body and abandon the part that his dying when mutating is not in the desired direction. With twin silvery moons in the sky, the animals are in certain outdoor fences with wide open free space. Most of these animals are tailed people's companions. So they have a very high sense of presence in the situation and some of the animals are kept for meat and milk they produce.

Most of the animals are sleeping already with some of them looking at the surroundings in a daze or playing with other animals. John swallowed a whole bunch of animals with just his head in the open leaving his whole body to cover the open space and not let any animals escape from his hand and cause unnecessary scenarios. As these houses are smaller than him, he can swallow them whole if he wants. The only thing he's fortunate about is that the roads are wider than his body and the houses are far apart from other houses. This made him not touch these houses, and his absolute control over his body's training in the water made him move without making any sound and with sense abilities. He can see if anybody is awake thus making him change direction from a long distance.

After many difficulties, John finally came near the gathering building successfully without awakening anybody from the settlement with a very tiring method that he had used from his birth, as a snake. John looked at the gathering hall that was as big as his head and then opened his mouth wider as he bit at the ground beside the gathering hall and sank his fangs in mud.

The mud broke slowly with immense pressure from his fangs and entered deeper. John began to swallow the mud in one mouth.

Then repeated the same process within a few moments his teeth stuck something harder than a normal stone larger than a stone he'd swallowed. So, he controlled his strength and griped on the stone room and pulled it out which can perfectly fit in his mouth without opening it wide. So, John swallowed the stone room kept it in his body a little away from the head, and slithered away from the settlement in the same way he took, at a faster speed.
