John also listened to their conversation and understood what they were saying, but didn't show any reaction to them. He composed himself and thought about why he became so bloodthirsty and didn't feel anything, even after killing these many people very violently.
After a few moments of self-reflection, John concluded that he saw violence as part of him. John's current emotions work very differently from when he was human. He still has all emotions and at the same time, he has another emotion that he had previously but grew exponentially now.
He deduced that it may be the snake's animalistic nature that magnified his cruelty. So even though his cruelty has inflated, his other human nature is still there and he won't be just a cruel beast. He would be a cruel beast with human nature.
Meanwhile, Mark and others tried to escape from there, utilizing the opportunity that John was distracted.
John came back to his senses after he perceived a disturbance in the atmosphere. He scrutinized the escaping figures and moved at a lightning-fast speed. He opened his mouth and spat the liquid poison at them with pinpoint accuracy.
Making the escaping humans into puddles of corroded bloody remains. Their screams made the other human's skin numb. Mark glanced back at the bloody mess and increased his speed to his maximum. John killed all of them and locked on the last target that was not injured with glinting eyes.
…
Mark peeked back occasionally while running amidst the complicated terrain of the forest. Mark ran for a few kilometers, jumped into the small swamp, hid inside it, and breathed using a small stick with openings on both sides. He formed a plan according to some common sense he knew about a snake.
Most of the snakes only have heightened hearing and smell. Mark tiredly stood inside the swamp while feeling the side effects of the high adrenaline he felt before. Just as Mark thought he escaped from John's murderous hand.
…
John unhurriedly came before a small swamp of man's height beside the tree and then swallowed it whole and poisoned Mark. Mark perished in a few moments inside his mouth without knowing how effortlessly he died. John then spat out Mark's dead body along with mud he swallowed back in the forest.
Then he used his tail and read Mark's memory. After reading Mark's memory, John used liquid poison and corroded his body to an unrecognizable level. Then without wasting, John read the memories of the other humans with whole body. As he can't read their memory if their brain is damaged even slightly.
John departed from there and slithered opposite to the kingdom. Till he found a nice hidden mountain with large waterfalls and a cave that could accommodate him. He left a few traces of himself on his return and it took many hours of traveling. The mountain is located in the middle of two dangerous species habitats. Which would make any humans almost impossible to cross.
John rested his body on the floor of the cave and thought(When I found out about the strength of the humans from Paradise Island. I lost my guard towards them, which boosted my cruelty and amplified my animalistic nature. Things will be fine if that's all there's to it.)
John's brows wrinkled, upon thinking about what he found in memories of the humans he killed. He found out about the real powerful people of humanity and their strength is almost on par with him. If they truly decide to kill him, they could with sufficient preparation.
He found that the so-called high humans or divine beings myth he found in the memories of the people from the paradise island was real. They are not myths anymore, they are present in every city in the kingdom and they also come in groups.
John is sure he can defeat and kill one or two so-called high humans with little effort. But if they come in groups with weapons and everything prepared. He was not so sure about escaping without suffering serious injuries. So, he decided not to face these humans straightforwardly. Till he has some form of guarantee for his survival, at the same time, he also doesn't want to leave.
As he has not found any other kingdoms existing from the soldier's memories. He found that the kingdom of Vika was 1500 years old. Since John was after the knowledge and high humans of the kingdom of Vika. He was very curious about the high humans and their god-like abilities compared to the normal humans.
Mainly he was after their very long lifespan. Because with a long lifespan, he could get what he's looking for and have some understanding of this world and the species. Just as John adjusted and improved himself to the current circumstance.
…
In the forest, where John left the corroded and dead bodies of the soldiers of the kingdom.
A marching sound echoed in a forest, which made the animals in the environment become chaotic and scurried away. A group of soldiers wore green-colored uniform clothes that partially camouflaged them to the forest background.
The group of soldiers numbered about 12 people with sharp spears and other survival necessities. The leading man was three meters in height with a strong body and had black eyes, skin, and hair. He had unusually strong hands bulging with muscles.
The leading man's eyes narrowed upon looking at the dismembered and corroded bodies of his colleagues. With a chilling expression, he kneeled and checked their bodies very closely with his years of experience. His brows furrowed when he found the full body of his colleagues which had almost no injury and other bodies were fully corroded left with a small amount of residue.
In his years of service has been a border soldier. He had not met a situation like this and from what he found, most of them seemed to die from the poison and others were corroded with something. The leading man looked around and ordered his soldiers "Everyone disperse and gather all of our colleague's bodies in one place and be careful. If you find anything suspicious don't investigate by yourself. Inform me, first. Disperse!"
A few moments later, everyone's body is gathered in the middle of the forest on flat ground. The leading man looked at all the bodies and concluded that some of them died by brutal strength with most of them dying by poison. From his memory, he has not found any animal with this level of strength and poison ability in this region.

The traces of ten-meter-wide tracks with scale imprints on the ground he found in this area are also very suspicious. He even made an absurd assumption, that he didn't want to consider or believe. If his assumptions were to be true, the consequences would be fatal for everyone. The leading man noted down everything truthfully, even if he felt absurd.
After executing the orders, the soldiers gathered together and shouted silently for the next order.
The leading man who was a Captain ordered "Gather all the dry wood and leaves. We can't leave the bodies of our brothers in the forest to rot. Burn their bodies and take away any personal items you find on them."
The soldiers also responded solemnly and executed the captain's order. Captain's thoughts began to become hazy while looking at all the dead bodies of the southeast border defense camp. He felt a deep sense of foreboding that something major was gonna happen.
The captain came back to his senses and ordered his team to return to the camp to inform Major about what happened. As if there were a creature with incredible strength and poisonous abilities wandering around their surroundings, it was very dangerous for the public.
The group marched on their usual routine, returned to the camp where they belonged, and reported to their Major who was in charge of them and the surrounding area. These soldiers belonged to the camp where the tribal chief currently resides. So when the Major who's in charge heard the report from the captain about the demise of a nearby camp.
He got emotional and arranged a meeting in a meeting hall with all the captains under him.
In the meeting hall, a middle-aged man with a strong body in his forties wearing a dark green camouflage cloth stood straight with a three-mountain symbol on his cloth along with his name Henry written. He walked to the front and garnered everyone's attention, as he said "We are facing an unprecedented situation and you all need to do your best to survive. If the situation goes in an undesired direction."
After saying that he looked at the tribal chief who was also standing in the crowd with expectation. Major Henry nodded his head at the tribal chief to explain everything, and the tribal chief did so happily.
All the Captains showed an intriguing expression on their faces and didn't entirely believe the tribal chief's claims. But they all listened to his narrative seriously, as it's an order of a Major.
After the tribal chief's narrative, Major Henry told everyone "I also didn't believe it when the tribal chief explained this to me. Just after this news, a neighboring camp was destroyed by unseen forces, and the possible cause for this destruction is deduced to be some giant snake. Same as what the tribal chief told us. So, I order everyone to be on alert during this time and not go on patrol at night time and light the signal for rescue if you meet that giant snake. Till a backup from the kingdom arrives."
With that, he finished the meeting and let everyone return to their team. At his office, Major Henry looked at the roof of the office while thinking about solutions for the current problem. Because the backup from the kingdom will take a long time to arrive. In the meantime, he wanted to avoid any type of interaction with the giant snake as much as possible, till the kingdom responded.
He already sent a letter informing what was happening in the forest to the city administrator of Black Bear City. Major Henry doesn't know what else he can do and he knows even the Highness Joe Vika can't kill a camp of well-trained soldiers without suffering any injury. But from the battlefield, the team has not found the remains of the attacker.
So Major Henry just hoped that His Highness could contact the capital city and invite any corps of the royal family. Only they could kill the giant Snake with less loss on everyone's side. He doesn't want ordinary soldiers to be dead in high numbers without being able to do anything on the battlefield.
With so many thoughts and plans Major Henry slept on the chair in his office in tiredness.
…
The next day
Meanwhile, in the cave, John woke up from his sleep and hunted the animals to replenish the energy he consumed yesterday and then glanced at the sky without knowing what to do. He can't attack the military group actively which may result in becoming the first target to be killed and at the same time, he can't wait for the group of people to come and hunt him.
John thought(Since I already killed a hundred soldiers of the kingdom. The kingdom will not let me live in peace. So, it's better to get what I want. Then to wait and lose the initiative.)
With a determination to get everything before the unexpected situation. John moved towards the Black Bear City location he found from the memory of the dead soldiers. He also found out about the military power of the kingdom and knew that the military presence was only in the border areas and couldn't go to other areas leaving their post empty.
Because a lot of animals threaten civilian safety and the military has to kill everything that crosses the border and the animals that are becoming dominant. Since it would take time to allocate soldiers to this city. John decided to act soon and learn everything he could from the Black Bear City and move away from this place.
With enough information, he could plan better and make reasonable potential decisions for his upcoming future important actions.
John slithered towards the Black Bear City while avoiding most of the military camps on his way, other than unavoidable ones. One such military camp happened to be Major Henry's military camp.
John glanced at small wooden buildings with military men and released his poisonous fog into the camp with an indifferent expression on his face.
…
The tribal chief woke up from his sleep and prepared himself for the upcoming day in an optimistic mood. Then he entered the canteen, took a plate of food for himself, and sat beside other military men. Just after he sat and took a bite of food, he began to feel dizzy and the world appeared all groggy to him.
He lost his control over his body and fell and one by one people in the camp felt the same way, they all fainted.
Major Henry walked out of his office slowly and looked at this hell-like scene with red eyes. His eyes searched for the culprit who caused this scene outside the camp area with his decreasing eyesight. Just before he died from poisoning, he caught a glimpse of a giant snake hidden in the forest outside the forest with its scale showing up here and there amid trees.
Major Henry thought about what the tribal chief said (He said that it was a giant snake and didn't specify the extent of giantesses. I don't think the Kingdom can contend against this beast without suffering tremendously.)
Major Henry and all the people died in just a matter of moments.
…
John glanced at the dead bodies and continued to move towards the city at a steady pace. After this, John destroyed and killed many such military camps without batting an eye and he also read the memories of everyone he killed, to get an overview of the world.
His pace quickened with every camp he massacred. He got to know most about the world from other people's perspectives.
…
The City Of Black Bear is young in the history of the kingdom with only fifty years since it was built. It has a very small population numbering to hundred thousand people. It has all the necessities needed for the city along with a certain number of villages.
In the center of the city, stands a luxurious mansion with a large number of rooms. In one of the rooms in the mansion, a six-meter-tall giant human with white skin, black hair, and eyes. He wore a white unstitched cloth wrap lower body and a loose cotton shirt on his upper body. The furniture and room were all built according to his height which made it seem like a normal human room with the presence of a usual human.
His long hair draped over his shoulder and his well-sculpted muscles showed their presence bulged when he wrote something on a paper or moved his body. Just as he accomplished his daily duties as the city administrator. His ears piqued and his concentration distracted from what he was doing and he looked up to the wooden door.
~Creak~
With an unpleasant cry, the door opened, and a human that was less than half the size of the door in military uniform entered the room and saluted. Then the soldier presented a letter to Joe Vika, the city administrator and General of the Black Bear border city.
Joe Vika took the letter from the soldier and looked at what was written on it. His pupils deepened a bit, as he looked at the contents of the letter. He muttered something and let the soldier return to his duty.
Joe Vika looked out of the large window in his room which faces directly towards the city entrance gate which is more than ten meters in height. He was five hundred years old and had grown to the peak of his race. He hasn't met a single setback in his life and has already married someone and had a kid. He already achieved most of the things in his life and left the clan land to contribute to the clan and expand the kingdom territory.
In the beginning, he faced various troubles in the wild with animals and disobedient humans who didn't listen to him. However, after numerous setbacks, he finally controlled his emotions and learned to use humans, after spending more than fifty years with them.
So he didn't think an unknown giant snake could make the city suffer. He knew he couldn't beat a camp of well trained soldiers by himself without suffering injury. Joe Vika smiled slightly as one of the best things humanity has over the other species was not the strength, speed, or sophisticated abilities. It's intelligence, only with intellect does humanity gain an edge over other species.
Joe Vika already decided to call for a corps from the clan to assist him in hunting the giant snake. Because even if the snake is stronger than him and has poison, it can't make a group of high humans with poison resistance potions and advanced cold weapons retreat. With a confident expression and plan, Joe Vika took out a large piece of paper and began to write with a quill.
He described everything about the snake and asked for a troop and potionists to help him hunt this snake and repeatedly addressed the consequences of letting such a snake live. After that, he rolled it and walked out of the room with the letter sealed with the seal of the city administrator.
On the roof of the mansion, he tied the letter to the collar of a large eagle, fed it, and let it fly into the sky.
